I'm trying to write a campaign and have a good idea of where I want it to go, but I'm not sure how to get started. In your current game, what was the main threat facing the party in their starting location?
>>97364443>what was the main threat facing the party in their starting location?two unrelated ones: one was a member of a minor branch of the huge and powerful Alibakkar merchant family that got it into his head that he'd rather be a robber knight, and the other was a sea hag controlling the weather to keep Amn's navy grounded for reasons related to the BBEG's overarching plot to ruin that nation because they're the only ones with Carrack technology to get over the Trackless Sea where his fortress is.
>>97364443>write >gameDoomed from the start.
The party, their target, a dangerous enemy they didn't know about beforehand, and a party of two "unrelated" NPCs all stuck on the same cruise ship for two days. Keeping it compact made the prep easy and made for a tense scenario where the PCs know they can't run from their failures.
>>97364443>what was the main threat facing the party in their starting location? This is so weirdly formulated.Do you meant "what was the overall antagonistic force in the first adventure" or"What was the most dangerous potential adversary in the general area where the campaign started" or "what was the first combat encounter of the campaign"?Or am I to read your question literally, in which case the answer is 'none' for almost every campaign I've ever played or ran. Or I guess it's "poverty" for a lot of them, since that's usually the only thing the pc's are contesting with in the first scene. I did participate in a game a few years ago where we did the cliche 'you all meet in a tavern' (starting location) and then the zombie plague outbreak started while the pc's were getting drunk in the tavern. So in the case of that game the answer to your question was "getting bitten by zombies".
>>97368033> the zombie plague outbreak started while the pc's were getting drunk in the tavern. No place like the pub to have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.
Is it better to have fully anthropomorphic beast people in your settings or just humans with like animal ears and tails?

I've found from the grapevine that Jes Goodwin is soon to retire from Games WorkshopHe really is the king. His concept sketches and absolutely timeless work on mk7 Space Marines and the Eldar particularly are worthy of the highest praise. His influence will be sorely missed, though with how miniatures are often 3+ years in the pipeline before being seen on shelves, his legacy will continue.
Will laugh so fucking hard if he finds his way to TC, and anons start insisting he's always been bad/woke/evil/shit tier.Still, it's a shame to see him go. One less real one, means one more position of power taken over by corporate hellhole drones who think creativity starts at a market prediction spreadsheet.
I wonder how rich he is (guessing not very). It's hard to imagine GW being as successful without his MK7 space marines.
>>97365649>Eldar, High Elves, Marines including Primaris, Chaos Warriors, Tyranids, Skaven, 40k AdmechThat would be weird since Trench Crusade doesn't look like his vibe at all. He likes aliens and monsters and smoother aesthetics. I'd sooner see him at Infinity. He will probably have some non-compete clause anyway.
>>97365649Why would he risk his legacy by associating with a scam like TC?

>>97362049>Did the first iterations develop in such a way that revealed inherent structural weaknesses?yes in the sense that there was little structural development to speak of. the actual game design didn't occur until 2024ish.>but because I suck at maths, finding the sweet spot for bonuses and balancing stats for asymmetrical point values has been very hit and miss.i started by sorting them into tiers based on much immediate card advantage effects caused. if you know the ones that are clearly the most powerful and clearly the weakest, you can start to fill in a hierarchy and then adjust cost weights from there.for example picrel is the current weighting iteration of card effects in the game (as translated into card costs)
>>97362543Seems rational.Given the nature of my project I'm gonna need to build a similar sort of matrix, so I can cross-reference the value weight of different stats and bonuses when prototyping a unit.

been working on finalizing the card redesign instead of the wiki. some changes regarding general gameplay:1.) Tapping for combat seems to pace the game better. Tapping (by effect or combat) also reduces stat by 1 until untap.2.) Triangle effects now tap in addition to being - stat.3.) Energies played from your hand are "put" instead of "Projected" (like MTG lands). this only matters if you are making a deck that abuses energy removal.the wiki needs to be updated to reflect these and some other changes, and it also need to be generally cleaned up. i'm using a pure html wiki right now (no database), so it has minimal functionality, but it's simple.the new card templates are basically done. i'm making 2x45 card starter decks with the new templates.

>>97368007At the same time, she became friends with Lirwyn Nieth, two Jedi frequently debating certain points of Jedi Code, with Lirwyn successfully smoothing some of the edges that Neela began to develop. But some were known to say that Lirwyn's influence wasn't entirely beneficial, as she seems to have also sown some doubts in Neela's mind regarding the direction that the Jedi Order was heading. Regardless, Dyr proved to be a supremely capable fighter and a good leader, her skills and loyalty to the Republic quickly putting her in good graces of both Republic Command and the clones, who couldn't help but respect the fervor with which Neela was throwing herself into the thick of combat again and again, her wrath and frequent use of destructive Force techniques bordering on being decidedly un-Jedi-like. Her taking on Roona Feyn as her Padawan was meant to both help Roona grow as a warrior, and give Neela someone who would remind her of kinder and nobler ideals. Dyr quickly grew to like her pupil, even if she wasn't the kindest mentor. At some point, Neela came into contact with Rear Admiral Zenosia, and the two formed a bond of mutual respect and trust, both being loyal to the Republic and not afraid to get their hands dirty when needed. Zenosia supplied Dyr with information, and Neela acted as the enforcer of the Republican law, eventually earning the privilege of commanding an Acclamator "Gaoler". Used to secure and transport prisoners of war, it nevertheless was deployed on many different missions, from evacuating civilians to guarding medical stations. As the war raged on, Neela became increasingly comfortable with grim realities of war - something that Lirwyn fervently warned against while Zenosia wholeheartedly endorsed. The Miraluka, already struggling to contain her boiling rage at the injustice and chaos she saw everywhere, was more receptive to Zenosia's words. Rear Admiral, for her part, greatly enjoyed having a Jedi so willing to work with her.
>>97368011When Order 66 came, Neela was left with nothing. Her friend Lyrwin, her padawan Roona - lost in the chaos of Empire's rise. And what of the Rear Admiral? Dead or switched sides? Master Astros-Kyn is most certainly dead. Lost and uncertain, Neela Dyr, despite her outwardly stoic and cold attitude, is teetering on the very brink of giving in to the Dark Side and going on a frenzied rampage against everything she perceives as unjust.I'll be taking my bonus points for writing the lore, thank you very much.

I'm new to Pathfinder 2e. How do I make an effective druid and what are the best spells in the Primal tradition?
>>97367015Generally as long as you avoid Untamed Druid (its workable but it ends up very vanilla, both compared to previous game iterations and other gish builds in PF2e), you pretty much set from the beginning. Storm Druid is the best of the lot, but you really can't go wrong with most other Druid options as long as you just play smart and understand that you are the generalist of the group. Some good spells to focus on include>Electric Arc>Needle Darts>500 Toads>Heal>Sacred Beasts>Lose the Path>Tailwind>Soothing Blossoms>Sticky Fire>Cave Fangs>Coral Explosion>Mad Monkeys (more memey than good but funny enough to pull at least once)Comment too long. >>97367439>it ends up a very vanilla beaterpardon, missed some words there. Untamed Druid is *statistically* fine if you properly scale upwards the feat chain, but it isn't doing anything a real martial would be doing, and PF2e's action economy means you can't really switch-hit with shapeshifting like you could get away with in D&D5e. There's no Circle of the Moon buff that grants you spells while shapeshifted either so...
