Should an elven wizard be more powerful on average than a human one? Explain your answer.
>>97367746I actually really like this one.Yeah sure, maybe a bit bland, but there is nothing wrong with an honest, classic design like that.
>>97367746Indeed there is technically nothing wrong with them. It's just that the colors, the tone, facial features, atmosphere, everything that could've made the artworks shine didn't. It's like buying a lamborghini and then having it parked in your garage for the rest of it's existence. It's like buying lego then gluing the set together and putting it behind a glass panel. It's like arranging an orchestra and then telling them to rap.
>>97367764The kind of people that obsess over quantity over quality are always the most wasteful like that, especially when it comes to art
>>97367932It's not even that. This guy's mental illness literally inhibits him from perceiving quality. You could put his commissions next to carravagio and he would say it's the same picture. It's a known issue with mentally ill people. Especially those with combos of BPD and narcissism. Puckee is closer to Christchan than he is to functional autists like us.

Question from last thread but thread 404 shortly after:Any tips on printing flat, square tiles?I know a FDM printer would be the best solution but I have already 2 resin printer and wont buy am additional FDM one (I only would need about 15 tiles, so not that many) .The plates would be 12x12x0,5cm (street tiles) in size. Should I print them flat on the bed or upright and put a lot of Supports under one side (if this Option would be possible I could print ca 10 at once and would be done after 2 prints).
How bad are the fumes with resin printers? People seem to act like you'll immediately die if you take a single whiff.

>>97367999nice tripsWhat do you think of 3-4 player games of TI?What do you think of Eclipse and the differences between the two?
How is the game where you can replace your entire ships with more missiles (Eclipse) to ram your opponents in the b-hole called dry, while the game where 2 players bicker for half an hour over an alliance (TI) everyone knows is a lie called flavourful?
>>97367374>wood instead of cardboardCoin capsule Chad's, rise up. I heard the wood tokens graphics wear off after awhile
>>97368228>uses cubes>is dryThose are the rules, we didnt make them.
>>97368228The flavor of TI is we do war but also representatives of each faction meet up in Mecatlo Rex and bicker about everything and only manage to vote on two Agendas in total per round, like imagine the US Congress as depicted by The Onion, except it's worse. That's how the ingame world is, and that's how the game is, with everyone endlessly arguing the definition of "whenever" in the ability text of "whenever a battle happens, gain a trade good" or something equally as silly but important to exactly two of the six players and the rest just want it to end faster. Though, like your example, this is a bit of an overexageration, as while they bicker the rest of you can plan out trade deals and remind yourself of the enemy capabilities, instead of just sitting around and then being surprized when Xxcha rolls six PDS2 shots on your fleet that's not even invading him it's just hovering on the border because I need to score "control 3 empty systems".
What’s the edgiest tabletop game of all time
>>97367728Older (as in early 2000s and earlier) RPGs had the frequent presence of what I call the "four edgy horsemen": Rape, Slavery, Torture (including human sacrifice), and Prostitution (including monsters that pretend to be promiscuous women). While not being as tone ruining as just including the word nigger (since that has no reason to exist in a roleplaying game unless the game is either comedic or set in a modern setting), all 4 of the edgy horsemen have effectively been blacklisted from modern RPG design, despite all of them being common in the fantasy works that inspired TTRPGs, and all of them being necessary components of a believable medieval world.
I'm really tempted to ask the garth-defending (despite apparently never hearing of him), bible-hating redditor what country he's from but we all know he'd never answer sincerely in any case, people itt have pretty much mentioned all edgy tabletops in existence. thread done.
>>97368230To clarify, by "presence" I don't necessarily mean that there were explicit mechanics for them, but that removing them from the lore of the game would noticeable leave plot holes. For example, some monsters might originate from implied humanoid rape/explicit parasite rape, or some monsters practice slavery/torture which is the main reason why they have captives, or a class (in Arduin) is called the Courtesan. And by "blacklisted", I mean that if you even slightly allude to monster girl rape (the relatively safe but still not fully safe pairing), in a homebrew race on a site known for unbalanced content, a eunuch-esque youtuber will screech about how gross and weird that is even though 3e's incubi (dragon magazine 353) were much more explicit about what they did, even having mechanics for how much damage they do from rape (and it's good that 3e was willing to be this edgy).https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Siren_(5e_Race)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0laeB2lP2MQ

>>97368249>anything that can be performed reliably MUST be capable of being broken down and studied.Yes, solely by nature of being able to be performed reliably. You are no where near as smart as you think you are.
>>97367640Why did you have to make it racist from the second line anon
>>97368370How is it racist?
>>97367640>how the characters think (i.e. logically, or numerically, or in a poetic / non-mathematical way)Yeah sure, let me just ignore how much effort it takes to be humanly understandable as it is and just slap yet another layer of emulation on top of that. No thanks.
>>97368352Just because you, personally, can make or do something does not mean you, personally, can break down the process to testable constituent functions capable of being applied in other contexts. We still don't have a clear explanation for why bicycles self-stabilize, for example, with experimental apparatuses assembled to test whether they still do with any and all of a wide range of commonly suspected factors only for ones with none of them to still self-stabilize beyond the bounds of any known theory. And that's "simple" mechanical force. Multi-planar magic is throwing out the assumption of invariant rules right off the bat, and if one of the planes is inimical to your existence due to how its rules differ from your typical plane of residence you're going to have to jump through an assload of hoops to construct an apparatus capable of relaying you any information of spell functions residing there. Even if the truth of the internal functions were capable of being empirically determined by a sufficiently priviledged observer, to do science with it requires such an observer both actually exist and be capable of the right kind of work to perform experiments, which is not exactly difficult to preclude in the conditions of a counterfactual.

Mike Mearls attempts to balance level 11+ spellcasters in 5e:https://www.patreon.com/posts/148007088>Here's what I propose for the paragon wizard:[...]>Let's keep spells and slots of levels 6 and higher.[...]>A wizard gets five level 5 spell slots. They regain those slots when they take a 1 minute rest. Is that busted? It sounds powerful, but compared to what other characters can do I think it's reasonable. Fireball cast with a level 5 slot does 10d6 to everything in an encounter. That's 35 damage. At level 11, you can expect to fight CR 8 and higher creatures in numbers. Those monsters have well over 100 hit points. The fireball leaves a mark, but it is not much of one. As you'll see with the fighter, that output looks nice but falls short of classes throwing attacks down range. If we re-orientate epic level encounter building to big fights rather than a war of attrition, this should work.I do not know about this. Mike still seems to think "Fireball" and not "Banishment" or "Wall of Force."

been working on finalizing the card redesign instead of the wiki. some changes regarding general gameplay:1.) Tapping for combat seems to pace the game better. Tapping (by effect or combat) also reduces stat by 1 until untap.2.) Triangle effects now tap in addition to being - stat.3.) Energies played from your hand are "put" instead of "Projected" (like MTG lands). this only matters if you are making a deck that abuses energy removal.the wiki needs to be updated to reflect these and some other changes, and it also need to be generally cleaned up. i'm using a pure html wiki right now (no database), so it has minimal functionality, but it's simple.the new card templates are basically done. i'm making 2x45 card starter decks with the new templates.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere. Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. It is probably not too controversial to say that the art of modern rulebooks is made with female representation in mind. These women are predominantly filling important roles, such as archmages, military officers, or nobles. But how come there is barely any art that shows them in peril, or at a clear disadvantage?
