The Foreigner class upgrade thingy is still ominously sealed, they made a point of acknowledging Foreigners attached to Outer Gods were excluded from the battle by Maris, and OC5 in general is still unresolved.

It will never fucking end.
>>
>>97251877
But isn't that all just part of a simulation and not something that actually happened in reality?
>>
>>97251881
No. The FGO timeline was legitimate. Then Marisbilly expended his family's accumulated magical energy to overlay a mini-Lostbelt upon it that metastasised into a Singularity; THAT is where the Fuyuki Grail War fire came from, Marisbilly creating circumstances where he could win and get his money and enough respect to kickstart his project.

As for the Lostbelts themselves, the entire premise of part 2 is that simulations can become real enough to affect real things with enough magical oomph/general esoteric shitfuckery behind them. It's like the Dark Multiverse in DC but more autistic.

The simulation was only negated because (you) shut it down and then Daybit helped (you) escape into a salaryman timeline when the entire Lostbelt (which you were part of) was otherwise going to be defeated. As a matter of fact, the salaryman ending IS proof that even without being ludicrously Beast-level powerful beings from the simulation (which the FGO timeline counted as early as when Marisbilly upended history) can in fact escape and survive with the right advantages.

TLDR it's fucking magic, simulations can do shit to real things.
>>
>>97251911
>Then Marisbilly expended his family's accumulated magical energy to overlay a mini-Lostbelt upon it that metastasised into a Singularity

Yet again, the True Meta of FGO is either to have enough Conceptual Wankery to out hax the other party, or just enough magical energy to laugh at them.

My current character is an amnesiac that serves the 10 Lords of Death. He's a holy man, but a kinda scary one. He gets deference and respect because if he's around, any ghosts or spirits get put down but he's uncanny and sees prophetic visions in things related to death

In my experience in an american meta, snipers and other long range guns(flammenspeers, panzerfausts) can still be really good, just more situational. The way my boards are set up, sniper nests usually have sightlines to at least one key point, but you have to choose which one you want to watch over, so sometimes its worth keeping in reserve to see where enemies are placing their offensive pushers. That said, my local meta does complain about morats, so you probably have a point

Adi Shankaracharya
Hermes Trismegistus
Paracelsus/Agrippa/Dee/Kelley, take your pick of which one
Crowley or Austin Osman Spare, maybe Blavatsky if you really want to include a woman although personally I think the divine feminine deserves its own archetype (like a "supreme crone" or something).

not playing sifr in Blue Eyes is insane, it's the only good thing about the archetype and costs like a nickel
>>
>>97251427
iirc note that Ultimate Spirit Dragon negate is a hard once per turn and doesn't work if you get two out simultaneously
>>
>>97251866
Most of the time you're not getting to that end board, so you're better off just running more utility. It is a control deck built for the grind. Using 2 Extra Deck slots for a monster you're unlikely to ever reasonably summon is not great. Sure, if you don't get hand-trapped and can end on Sifr + Spirit + Drillbeam you're unlikely to lose, but in my experience that only happens 1 duel out of 15. I'd rather just end on something more reliable and use those slots for S:P + Ty-Phoon. I've even been testing Secretarion Dragon.
>>

>>97251888
>>97251866
The good thing about Sifr is that it protects your True Light.
>>
>>97251952
Plus, if you don't make Sifr on your first turn you probably aren't making it the rest of the duel.

In all seriousness, how can you get yourself to enjoy playing games when /tg/ players are so insufferable, socially and aesthetically in real life
>try to play 40k
>it's all actual obese autists with animes T shirts and don't understand the concept of an inside voice
>try to play RPGs
>It's fat 40 year olds with goatee or ungroomed beard and shaved head, marvel T shirt and jorts and wearing those weird flat Irish hats
>visit LGS on card gaming night
>take one whiff and immediately turn around and leave

It's actually distressing because I want to actually get to play in the hobby I love so much, but it doesn't seem to be possible if you can't find normal people to play with
Solution?

Have you tried a "wargame" that isn't 40k? 40k attracts the absolute bottom of the barrel cretins to it because of its similarities to competitive video games. Personally for me I play Warhammer Fantasy, and I think by virtue of it being an old game that was dead for many years, mostly existing in a time before the widespread dissemination of the internet, and, perhaps, having more focus on narrative storytelling through gameplay, rather than meta competitive shit, I find that WHFB players tend to be older, have long term relationships, be better socialized, and tend to have a, generally, decent standard of hygiene and fitness (I can't remember the last time I played against a total blob, at worst it's manlets with a bit of a gut). However don't feel like you have to now go for WHFB, just look around the other wargaming scenes in your local community, there's a good chance at least one of them will be majority populated by, relatively, normal people. 40k is slop for piggies so attracts piggies with no discernable taste who value quantity over quality and generally have underdeveloped brains.

>have great idea for a snarky female investigative reporter character
>end up playing a discount Alex Jones instead to avoid making things weird
Is it weird to play female characters in spooky games? Like with other more combat focused systems it's not as big of a deal since you're just smacking things more often, but does the (often) more RP-heavy nature of horror settings make playing the other gender more of a weird experience at the table? Assume we don't put on voices for our characters.

Welcome to /un0/, an RP thread for playing a World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness Hunter. For any OOC questions about WoD/CofD, check the official general. >>97224887

Rules:
>We are acephale. There is no storyteller, we are not a quest.
>This thread is based primarily but not exclusively in the nWoD/CofD game Hunter: the Vigil. However, Vigil is defined by being highly setting agnostic, with a system for creating entirely custom monsters that do not exist in other WoD/CofD games. Thus, you have significant freedom in what you want to play and what you want to hunt. Feel free to play a member of the Society of Leopold, or a member of the Lucifuge hot on the tail of a Lasombra.
>Namefagging is encouraged but by no means mandatory.
>Keep in mind that even highly experienced Hunters typically only have fractured pieces of the puzzle, and every table has their own canon. The night is dark and full of misinformation.
>/un0/ is conceived of as an experimental end to end encrypted program that is very hard to compromise, retains very little data and purges that data regularly. Please play an actual Hunter.
>Spoiler any OOC discussion.

Happy hunting.
Unless this thread somehow takes off like a rocket, this will be the last un0 thread for the foreseeable future. Towards the end of the thread, please give your feedback in regard to these shorter, limited run RP threads.

That might actually be one of our West coast chapters.

God is real & Christ is King, this world is ours & our own making. When Adam-Eve partook of the fruit of knowledge we were banished from the Garden where everything was nice & cozy. This world is not kind. Its not supposed to be kind. It is a prison & an obstacle to overcome. Vampire mind control was created by the son of Adam & the First Murderer, it was not the heavy hand of God which moves us, but the mortal evils of mankind. No matter how ageless a bloodsucker, they can die. No matter how ephemeral a skinchanger, they can die. That means theyre mortal just like us. Its no different than someone being a little stronger or a little more charismatic. And everything burns.
>>

>contain
Haha. The closest you get to capturing and containing is them playing into your hands. Hypothetically, I would try and scavenge strange occurrences around notable seasonal events. Fairest folk exhibit signs of being beholden to events of importance. Things like harvest moons, solstices, and equinoxes. Blue moons and hunter moons could also serve to draw them out but, again, this is hypothetical. They are like an ash storm you can make out in the distance. Noticeable and recognizable but when in the center there's more immediate concerns that make one forget their presence.

Back from the expedition & a little bit of personal Christmas vacation. Brief summary, details to follow.

Everything went well. Turned out the gateway led into a kind of pocket realm/mirror of our world. We killed the spirit thing there. Turns out the lindwyrm was a guardian to some nasty shit, & had been slumbering & sealed in the lake cave since Vikings came to America (way earlier than you'd think) the thing we killed was trying to possess it & pump it full of magic to force it to change/grow so it could wreak havoc. Apparently the seals had been eroding. My new lindwyrm armor is a dream, almost didnt want to take it off after. It saved my life twice (& technically Sarge's too) everyone lived.

Christmas was nice with the wife & kids.

You can trap them in conversation, trap them in a contract, or trap them in iron. But they'll fuck you over faster than you can think if you arent 100%.

The Rule of Three is a law of metaphysical reality. Creation is a Trinity/Triat/Tertiary Torus. Maiden Mother Crone, Past Present Future, etc. Divinity is Three, Nature is a Circle (zero-infinity), Man is Four, & Chaos is a spiral (666 is specifically a "corrupted divinity" as it is three spirals) Understanding God, & Jesus is Seven (4 Man +3 Divinity) The Pentangle is Magic is 5. It is the next step of man on our journey to divinity.

Going back to Three, you need three points to triangulate. To pin them in. Etc. Its all very interesting but im not sure if you guys would be interested in a lesson on numerology & sorcery.

Would you say wizards (class) in D&D are generally a little autism-coded?

Why were so many of the "OG" game designers insufferable faggots? It seems like the vast majority of game designers from the 70s and 80s were self-obsessed dickheads who openly hated and looked down on their customer base. There were obviously exceptions, and some like Gygax would go on to regret and apologize for it, but still, what made so many "professionals" back then such fags?

Noticing a funny trend for older /tg/ writers to be ludicrous, comedically adversarial and powergamey towards pretty much anyone.

It's kind of like discovering a new drug before noticing the bad parts. We now know that meth has a few drawbacks, but it's funny reading stuff before they knew the dangers of getting a big weird gay nerd ego.
>>
>>97251827
Or rather, Gygax's attitude stemmed from his players doing the same.

Everyone says he tried to fuck them over but no one mentions how his buddies did the same thing, they all thought it was in good fun, so when Gygax told you to fuck over your players, he did so with the expectation that they'd be giving back as good as they got.

What you see from shit like >>97250997 >>97251684 are designers who're clearly very onesided. They want to fuck you over, but are offended and shocked at the thought of being challenged by the players, which was something Gygax encouraged.

So the designers who were faggots "because that's what Gygax did" fundamentally misunderstood Gygax's entire mentality.

Part of the fun as a >player< in those game like Call of Cthulhu is watching other players make bad decisions and die.
