Anyone play it yet? I like the "rustic fantasy" setting. The core rules seem interesting, it has more mechanics and gameplay than most other narrative games. I enjoy that it doesn't have moves or whatever to confine you, you can actually play your character and do whatever you want. It's got enough knobs and options in terms of resolution I feel like it's actually a real game despite having that more story focus vs simulation focus. And I like that the DM has all the traditional power of the DM and there's not like "Fate Points" or something else that gives players control to change stuff.
Thinking I might try a short game for my table, just a few lower powered sessions. It also has good tools for a solo stuff which is interesting.

What systems do what this one wants to better?
>>
>>97281603
Absolutely take what I say with a grain of salt since I'm no game dev, but I'd honestly stick to a Powered by the Apocalypse game system, since it seems to want to be basically a more customizable version of that with the whole Tropes and Tags idea of character building. Though in a sense, it also reminds me a lot of Risus in that way.
>>
>>97282455
The biggest thing I struggle with for the PBTA stuff is the moves feel constricting to me. I just don't feel like I'm authentically doing what I want to when it comes to do "all actions you can take are one of these 9 moves."

God I love Taunting. There is nothing better than having a deck of CS Shakkoumon and Trident Arms to just molest your opponent out of existence.
>>
>>97281703
Yuji is bad because you can't cheat it into play and it doesn't do anything on play. It is simply too slow to be put into modern lists.

Conversely, Kosuke CAN be cheated into play, and can be used to trigger multiple different effects.
>id rather run more laplace's demon
Laplace is okay, but having a taunt thay comes naturally when evolving is much better.

i dont feel like cheating out kosuke is even worth it. like you need bt16 doru in breeding or to play and have it live. then on your second turn you use it to put kosuke under, then when you end, assuming the doru or whatever you digivolved into survives, you play it out on your second turn. i could just play it normally at that point if i opened it

Elves are hunted because
>Their meat tastes better than anything
>Their blood can cure illnesses
>Their bones are beautiful and jewel-like
>Their hair is nearly unbreakable and can be woven into unbreakable fabric
>Their organs have specific properties
As a result, they've gone from living like well, elves to basically becoming an entire race consisting of Guts from Berserk.

Depending on the timeline of the powers appearance:
In Ancient times: It would probably be a feudalistic society with the superheroes being treated as gods or noble with noble arranged marriages being the closest thing eugenics.
In modern times: Superheroes might be encouraged to use their power for good. If they are sufficiently strong the government could legally institutionalized to closely monitor them. Probably away from others like them to prevent an uprising.

That's true but a ttrpg actually has a plot.
>>
>>97282778
yeah but the epic plot is the epic table politics and spamming 6 gorillion tokens in one turn and show your epic army and then tell some guy in the subway how you obliterated your commander circle that time where you played your epic commander that made you 12 gajillion tokens that one time and every clapped
>>
>"wow guys, member that one time where I played my commander and won the game by triggering every single one of its abilities that let me made 40 treasure tokens and every time a token would etb i could do 1 damage to everyone?"
>>
>>97282798
It has to be a millennial era thing to want to describe everything that happened to you like it was some epic awesome story with you as the hero. You saw it on tumblr all the time and, ironically, it ruined tabletop gaming as a community and drove out anyone who actually liked the games for the mechanics. Too many comic books?
>>
>>97282827
It's an autistic thing for the most part.
My LGS back then had one 30y.o. who would randomly talk to people after matches and he would start telling you how epic he was that he played card but opponent played card but he played other card and then won the coinflip.
When he lost even one match you could make him cry if you poked him with it.

I mean, it is how kids do and behave when they're 5-10 years old.

A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,

Some of the sculpts are ripped straight off free sites, some are modified by the guy I'm doing the project with. Most of the Legion stuff started as actual Roman sculpts that he modified. Legion is getting mutated horse cavalry (because wikireader fans are wrong about horses being confirmed extinct in Fallout) and a cool chariot thing. NCR is getting diesel punk motorcycles. Possibly the M4 Sherman from Tactics but I might give that to the BOS.

Tyr's decennial rains were late and the dragon was spotted. Kalak proclaimed games w/ 5,000 participants. The dragon would get his pick of 1k of the victors and the rest would be set free. The players started at level 1 as purchases by a noble on a plantation outside the city. The rains came in a deluge and they escaped, fleeing into the city as it poured for days and days. Recruited by what was left of a nearly-purged veiled alliance, they were in the warrens in the leaking basement of an inn, trying to find a way through undertyr to reach the noble district. They freed one of the last surviving members of the veiled alliance through a daring raid on a villa in the templar district. Explored the undercity and fought some dwarf banshees and accidentally killed a cistern fiend not realizing that you generally don't wanna do that. They stole the plans for the ziggurat from a different noble's house and almost burned down market at Shadow Gate trying to get away. Then the campaign fell apart because scheduling fuckery.

The premise had been "what if Freedom, but the Veiled Alliance had failed and everyone was dead, and had to start over from scratch?" Didn't get very far.

Welcome to /un0/, an RP thread for playing a World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness Hunter. For any OOC questions about WoD/CofD, check the official general. >>97224887

Rules:
>We are acephale. There is no storyteller, we are not a quest.
>This thread is based primarily but not exclusively in the nWoD/CofD game Hunter: the Vigil. However, Vigil is defined by being highly setting agnostic, with a system for creating entirely custom monsters that do not exist in other WoD/CofD games. Thus, you have significant freedom in what you want to play and what you want to hunt. Feel free to play a member of the Society of Leopold, or a member of the Lucifuge hot on the tail of a Lasombra.
>Namefagging is encouraged but by no means mandatory.
>Keep in mind that even highly experienced Hunters typically only have fractured pieces of the puzzle, and every table has their own canon. The night is dark and full of misinformation.
>/un0/ is conceived of as an experimental end to end encrypted program that is very hard to compromise, retains very little data and purges that data regularly. Please play an actual Hunter.
>Spoiler any OOC discussion.

Happy hunting.
Unless this thread somehow takes off like a rocket, this will be the last un0 thread for the foreseeable future. Towards the end of the thread, please give your feedback in regard to these shorter, limited run RP threads.

Damn that's some shit luck. What happened at your last social function? Also yep, definitely a vampire with how that one died alongside their words. Did he get a drink spilled on?
>>
>>97279515
You mean before this? Had to duck out of Thanksgiving for an exorcism, because the spirit was gonna kill the host if we didn't do it then and now. I don't even bother with Halloween anymore, there's always some bullshit on Halloween. Before that I was at an open house where there was a haunting.

>Did he get a drink spilled on?
Not sure what you're asking here. I didn't see anyone throw a drink in his face. He was whooping my ass during the fight, hit me so hard I went staggering back and almost fell into the fireplace. He was hesitant to follow so I called him a pussy while I grabbed a fire poker as a weapon. That pissed him off enough to get back in my face, when he grabbed the poker I let it go, grabbed his beard, dropped to the ground to use his high center of mass against him, and managed to pull part of it into the fireplace. It burned my hand his beard went up so fast. His pals didn't wanna get close to him, and there wasn't much water for him to put himself out with, so he died screaming running out of the house.
>>
>>97279963
Man that is some bad luck. Have you ever checked to see if you're cursed?
>Fire
Ah don't worry about it, vampires are weird. Good on you for sticking it to him though, hopefully the others don't bother ya.
>>
>>97281232
>Have you ever checked to see if you're cursed?
I'm just bitching. I managed to have an uneventful Christmas.

>hopefully the others don't bother ya.
Now that definitely won't be happening. I'm no vampire expert, but I got a cellmate who knows them a bit better than usual. He says that vampires come in two flavors: Smart with a low profile and loud, aggressive, and stupid. The former basically never make it on Hunter's radar and if they do by bad luck, they prefer to just wipe our minds and move on. The latter make up a good 90% of the ones hunters actually fight, and trying to turn a whole New Years party sounds a lot like the latter. I'll be seeing them again.
>>
>>97281863
That's good. One can never be too careful in our line of work. If it ever gets too rote in happening be sure to check for curses.

As the other anon said, tilea, specifically the city of Remas was the former Capital of the Reman Empire, an ancient empire of men possibly founded by the goddess myrmidia when she lived as a mortal.

The cults of myrmidia disagree on many details including where myrmidia may have been born or if her ancient empire started in either estalia or tilea.

Don't think so, but you might be able to just build Roadstrikers from scratch. Or maybe use the ATs from the Votoms Fuzion book. I think Old SilCore is similar enough to Mektons Interlock that you could just consider using HG 2e.

Looks fun. Curious to know how 4e runs. I get the feeling it's easier to play than it is to read. Also I'm itching for that St. Vincent material for HG 4e. Might be my favorite TN era conceptually but there's not too much on it.

This is very much true. The rulebook itself is needlessly bloated and written in a cumbersome manner, but the core system itself really is simple when it comes down to it.
The real tricky part is keeping track of various 'side' rules that are hidden away in various paragraphs.

Though I played it with some simplification to the damage system as well, since the default one is pants-on-head retarded.

Same. The new stuff they've added like the Oasis Depths module sounds awesome.

>Don't think so, but you might be able to just build Roadstrikers from scratch.
Easily!
>Or maybe use the ATs from the Votoms Fuzion book.
ATs, Gears... whazzadiffrence?
>I think Old SilCore is similar enough to Mektons Interlock that you could just consider using HG 2e.
Now that's an idea I've never heard before!
