>>97354779>In 3e, creating exaltations is a numinous trick that Autochthon found.>The Incarna even randomly found an exaltation "printing machine" randomly in the wyldOK? I don't know why you're bringing that up. I usually make Autochton largely uninvolved in the War, as an aside. >>97354540Abyssals and Infernals are just the Neverborn doing the same thing as the Incarnae. To create your own, everlasting Exaltation in the universe, you have to be willing to surrender complete control of your domain to let your prospective Chosen partake of it of their own free will. This is how, for example, Solar Exalted have *Sun* powers, but they are not limited to the Unconquered Sun's Charms and abilities. As for why they didn't do that sooner: To a Primordial, allowing humans to not only master their strengths but potentially surpass them, was something their pride would never allow them to do. It was only now, as the agony of their prisons or undeath drives them to madness, did they become so desperate as to allow their power to be wielded by the hands of men. The Neverborn can only channel the essence of death in their current state; whatever their former powers were is drowned out by the taint of their broken souls. Their chosen take forms mirroring the Solar Exalted, the nightmare seared into their minds as they died and stained black by the touch of Oblivion. The Yozi remember their defeat. They saw how the champions of Creation exploited every flaw in their magics, every way in which they were imperfect, and brought them low. Though they were loath to do it, their spite for Creation was greater and they combined their strengths to create Exalted that embody all the forces of Hell. >>97354869I think White Wolf was pretentious in trying to break it down into a macguffin dreamed up by a robot. >>97355702>OK? I don't know why you're bringing that up.Because what you wrote goes against what was written in 3e.>I think White Wolf was pretentious in trying to break it down into a macguffin dreamed up by a robot. Guess we wont see eye to eye.Despite being a mechanical being, Autochthon fulfills the role of creator God of the setting, aping figures such as hephaestus or prometheus. It is just another case of White Wolf screwing a mythological concept trying to make it more grandiose.
>>97355855>Because what you wrote goes against what was written in 3e.Again, okay? I don't think that's relevant at all.

I know there's Everyone Is John, is there anything like picrel? A lighter Fiasco-style game, mixed with Monster of the Week? (Ideally not PbtA please.)Also what are /tg/'s thoughts on SP? Both the comic and the movie.
>97346725>obviously wrong and contradictory takeIt's all so tiresome
>>97348405>too much of a bitch to reply and make a real argument. Fiasco is for telling stories where some big plan goes sideways. Monster of the Week is PBTA for Scooby-Doo capers, usually supernatural mysteries. Sluglaster is FITD (PBTA-adjacent) gonzo, 80s themed sci-fi about cool kids doing hoverboard tricks. None of them emulate Scott Pilgrim.
>>97349178I give you points for not doubling down on your bitchiness and actually providing reasons this time. You're underselling MotW as Scooby-Doo. It features serialized mysteries themed around investigating and taking down the titular monster of the week, but unlike with the mystery gang that shit is assumed to be real. It's not just Barry the janitor in an animatronic, there's legit supernatural stuff going on. Fuck, even the players can use magic. That's practically the same thing as a serialized sequence of urban fantasy mysteries/fights against seven deadly exes. I mean it's literally based off fucking BtVS, if you can't see the similarities there then I'm afraid I can't help you.Likewise with Slugblasters, "cool kids do X supernatural shit while dealing with mundane life drama" is literally Scott Pilgrim. You're bang on about fiasco not emulating SP. That's the only kudos I can give your retardation, however. Frankly I preferred thinking of you as malicious.
>>97350001MotW having actual supernatural shit does not make it a good fit for Scott Pilgrim. It's not "practically the same thing" just because there's some magic. It's also PBTA which OP specified he does not want.Slugblaster, likewise, is a poor fit. It's all gadgets and robots and "HEY REMEMBER THE 80s/90s?!" but it's a FITD game, which means it's about staging heists and adventures and trying not to fuck everything up. The FITD component already disqualifies it again. It's just clocks and handwaving shit, like most FITD games are. Scott Pilgrim isn't cool kids doing supernatural shit. It's painfully mundane outside of the fights, which was kind of the entire point. Scott can't fist fight his way into a healthy relationship and until he realizes that, he'll continue to be a fucking loser and an asshole. If you want big combat in between hyperbolic 20-something relationship drama, both are a bad fit.
>>97344560apothecaria one day at a thymeiron valleyalthough idk how much like scott pilgrim they are.

You can dismiss it as a 'shit fit conspiracy' because apparently you believe everyone lacks basic pattern recognition, but there's a reason more and more people are leaving for greener pastures.Even if all these awfully disparate maps and bits and pieces of lore are yours, you could have talked about them in any thread that didnt ask the same 'how do you x in y' as to let these shit out threads rightfully die off, but you didn't and instead strawmanned that "/tg/ doesn't play games and mad im posting miiiiineeee!!!!" like everyone hasn't shit on these threads for being made by nogame faggots for years. you aren't fooling a single person. get your tranny janny friend to delete this post too, but know we know and plugging your ears to it won't change the dismissals you get.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. >>97345752My rationale is to bundle the Blaster/Splitercannon squads in a pair of raiders and push them up the table to contest and harrass the shit out of things, while the dark lance squad hangs back to snipe heavier shit. Archon and incubi are in the last raider and the Talos will act as a counter attack force where ever I get bogged down by the enemy. Ravager provides highly mobile anti armour/anti terminator/meganob platform. And hopefully, this gets me a win, but the ultimate is to see how fun this particular fandex is.

News from the front, played the trial game with the new deldar fandex and was not impressed, from the anemic character selection, to the missing rules reference and never elaborated, it just made for a particularly unfun experience. Though on a positive note the armoury was well composed, using my weapons available to me really did sell what they're supposed to be. The darklight guns(dark lance and blaster) were the high impact anti-armour/heavy infantry pieces they're supposed to be, the splinter weapons are a good high volume of fire and moderate and reliable damage like they should be, disintegrator cannons on my raiders were great, the 2 sustained fire dice for them is a damn good feel.Next week will see me using the Codex Commoraghii fandex from 2008, this one was written off of the 3e army list and cleaves closer to 2e design principles, so maybe this will feel better than this 5e+ derived fandex I used today, the week after that see's me using the oldest of the bunch, a fandex written in 2000, still with 2e fresh in mind. From these games I'll determine either the list most aligned with what I want out of dark eldar in 2e or a foundation for me to iterate my own idea of what they should be.
>>97354264Well that sucks, So what's the differences with the older list? Has your army list changed? Unit stats different at all?
