>>97257109You mean of the "Legacy" factions?I think most likely will be Shreks. They've been piddling out of Sigmar for a while and I can see them just disappearing and going all back to Old World (I still think GW's current stance against cross-system play is fucking stupid)Next Delfs. GW needs to shit or get off the pot with Malekith's godhood and his Shadow Elves in Sigmar. Do something, come out with new models and squat the old Delf models from the Cities line and bring them all back to TOW.Daemon of Chaos very likely, but only once GW moves the story forward and gets to Asavar Kul's invasion.Rats would be easiest to do since even their new models are small enough to rank up on 25s, but since they're being used as the big bads for the current edition of AOS, GW won't relinquish them.Lizards would also be more difficult, all the big monsters haven't been updated but the new Saurus don't rank up very well, though it is possible to get them going. And NuSlann would need new bases that could fit in ranks. But since they're still a major faction in AOS, very unlikely.New Chorfs rank up better than I thought, but again, extremely unlikely as GW doesn't want cross-play.Comment too long. I’d like to see the VC back just to get my hands on some of the pre-refresh skeletons. I know tracking them down second hand isn’t the worst experience, but it’d be more convenient in my mind.
I just learned they no longer sell previous start collecting X boxes and I'm lowkey salty. They used to go for extremely cheap, and they would be perfect for 500 points worth of demon allies.

Genuine question, there’s no real answer to it, mostly looking for opinions for the sake of narrative flavour for my game. What is the connection between Cegorach and the Deceiver? Are they the same being, somehow? Are they connected? Is Cegorach just the Deceiver’s longest ever deception, or is the Deceiver Cegorach’s biggest joke? Or have one of them pretended to be the other, on occasion?
>>97257601My GM is very wary of stacking gear qualities for this very reason. MC bodysuits can get very silly.
>>97257643It's about as busted as being a Machine Trait Admech with a bunch if Unnatural Attributes in FFGNothing wrong with a bit of broken power gaming. Something I was pretty disappointed in is that they didn't take the time to make gear more... bespoke(?) In the Requisition Guide. They did that in the 4e Warhammer Fantasy books, the item traits & stuff are VERY heavy handed. Like how shields can be destroyed in one blow & not even having the durability trait can save it completely. This means shields are pretty shit to invest it
>>97257162The bitter internecine conflict between different GW departments would never allow it. They forbid making tzaangors in TW Warhammer to have bird heads because they have bird heads in AoS, for example. They are refusing to update stuff in Old World that was expanded on in AoS. Vespids got relegated to killteam, and so on. Pretty much the only thing that's used between the difference GW games are the daemon models, the rest is highly insular
>>97257658It's moreso about how some negative qualities are nothingburgers. If you're not the face then ugly nets you a free positive quality, and shoddy doesn't mechanically affect certain types of gear, classic C7. I typically equip every starting character with flak armour that I've stacked 2 nega qualities on to be able to afford.

>>97252996Nah! I'm good, marking the territories isn't that long (outside of France's, which is just humongous), and I'm not sure which order of putting stuff is the best for it to come out looking good, this is very much a prototype. I'm glad at least I got a tiny bit of the USA's in there, I didn't even realize that. I tried doing the same with the full map, but Paint 3d couldn't handle the sizes involved. Very rough estimate, but the hexes came at about 80 miles across from what I could eyeball. What I'm thinking, for the "hexcrawl" version, would be that you build a small company, start in a city, and have a few options to generate job opportunities, trade mission requested, escort missions, reinforcement, labour employment, exploration, etc. A bit like, in Sunless Sea, when you are in Fallen London, so if you are in Fallen Paris you can check with the Societe if they have some missions for you. You generate a target location (figuring how to do this the best is what's bugging me now) and must reach it. Each hex you have to travel through would be a game map (obviously, not a 1:1 translation, but represent that one dangerous situation your Expedition got into during that week of travel). These games would set you more against NPCs. Probably some rules to speed up travel inside your frontiers, on roads or rivers, or through Airship or on boats. I've already figured out a bit of an event system to make the travel games a bit more chaotic. Will post more on this as soon as I feel it has enough structure to make sense.

>>97254633To be fair to Runepriest, what it got was pretty good. It just didn't get enough.
>>97256142Runepriest mostly suffered from the "taxes" issue. He handed out like double the amount of gribbly little bonuses of every other Leader while completely lacking the positioning or action granting of others. They did have an interesting gimmick where their "heal" could be spent to not heal and instead just give the buff if you wanted to alpha strike hard and not spend surges. Also one of the builds being Str/Con. Gross. Serene Blade should have been the standard design ideal of all the Runic Artistries instead of the later fixed one. Really it shouldn't have been a Strength class. Wis or Con should have been its primary with finding a way to slip Int in there as a Secondary so it wouldn't be so bad at Religion for flavor reasons.
>>97256225>so it wouldn't be so bad at ReligionEvery divine class is shit at religion.
>>97257727That's true. Nature got moved to Wisdom so Rangers and Druids would actually be good at it. There wasn't really a reason other than Wisdom slowly closing in as the king stat that Religion shouldn't have been as well. Or at least a feat for Divine characters to use Wis for Religion like how Half Orcs got a feat to use Str for Intimidate or Rogues have a feat to add Cha to Acrobatics and Athletics.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome!
