Thoughts on moths?
>>97276734Haven't used them much, they were a more frequent meme monster in the earl 2020s. They're sort of creepy looking if you've never been outside and don't have any specifically innate power or horror to them so there's not much to work with other than making them quiet weirdos.
>>97276734Judgmental.
One of our games has them as an antagonist of sorts.Since the setting has fate spiders wielding threads of fate, there's an opposing (dragon)moth entities that eat the threads of fate. Very much a Creation vs Destruction theming.Them being an enemy of creation hasn't stopped the party from managing to snag one as a companion, because of course (to the frustration of the fate spider character, but not their player). Also easy enough to do a Law vs Chaos aspect, and have them represent breaking free from the shackles of fate, or a hero burning brightly before being consumed.
Funfact: OG Mothman didn't really have much "moth" about it.

>>97279099I think the internet had been going through (at least the first few stages of) a cycle. Using warhammer as an example, we start with a relatively open field of discussion, then a gradual segregation of various nicher communities, in this case for example the various faction specific forums (lustria online, chaos dwarf dot net, etc). Then a consolidation with larger sites (reddit, this place), after which those sites gradually self-segregate themself again, combined with a resurgence of more niche communities, this time in the form of discords.
>>97279264People used to be more polite because they hadn't spent a decade and change watching simpering idpol shitters infiltrating and ruining their hobbies and then using their co-option of nerdy community spaces online to enforce their sad sanitized PG-rated version of reality. They were more polite because conflict existed and was usually permitted almost everywhere but largely in a gentlemanly fashion where people could agree to disagree without being labelled a crypto-fasho-Nazi-istaphobe or whatever because of a minor disagreement. The "crazies"(ie, typical nerds, rather incomers like yourself) stick around here because it's the only place left that even pretends not to be run by and for rampantly homosexual subnormals, the only place where someone acting like a retard can be called retarded without being "regulated" and there are still some sane people on this shitty ball of dirt who understand that a spade should be called a spade.
>>97274317In my experience most TOW players are fat, yes, but you do have the occasional twink weakling. It's not just TOW to be fair, AoS and 40k are similar or worse. I have been to local game stores in several counties and the only place where the majority of denizens were not fatasses was in France, but even still they were in worse shape than the average Frenchman on our find elsewhere. Magic should be cool
I like when magic IS rare, and magicians usually only get few to several spells, or magic objects, pacts, etc, so as to make them unique in their backgrounds.
>>97264376As always, this is posturing storyfag/armchair designer nonsense that doesn't work with real continuous gameplay.
>gameplayFor Centaurs, you should be able to use them as mounts when not in combat if they're lightly armed & armored. I think you could ride into battle with them and fight on their back without overburdening them, depending on your loadout. Squeezing into dungeons and caves might be a bit of a bitch, and your centaur companion may find themselves too cumbersome to accompany you in certain locations. If people in wheelchairs can make do, I'm sure a transmog potion or a shrinking potion might solve the problem.>fantasy settingsThey're more at home here for sure, like having a horse. Some taverns may give you a hard "no" for your centaur companion, but I'm sure regions that are steeped in centaur culture or adjacent ones have accommodations for their unique anatomy. If nothing else, they could help carry your camp supplies and other provisions. >loadouts for fantasyIf you're not riding them, I think they can be pretty well armed and armored- think tower shield and a mace/flail. They also make good spearmen, so I think they'd be comfortable wielding a halbard and similar pike-style weapons. This would be with them wearing plate mail cuirass for the human portion and chainmail curtain over their horse hind quarters, or perhaps some specially fitted Gambeson. Other plate sections could be fitted to their horse body as needed. Archery and crossbows seem like they'd work for ranged options. I've not considered them using magic, but having a fairly mobile spellcaster seems cool as well.

>>97243662I was about to download the latest update and I noticed that you've added stuff for Soul-tethering, which made me wonder...Some of these creatures used to belong to player facing races, have you considered supporting the player transforming into one of them, like someone becoming a Succubus or a Vampire or such. All it would really take is having XP costs for the relevant traits and feats, and maybe a framework to better come up with the rituals to do it (which would be useful to have as player objectives even if playing the monster itself were to fall beyond the scope of the game). In that vein, are there any plans to support controlled transformations on the part of the player? One idea I had for a character was a creepy mega-nerd alchemist (or mage who knows alchemy) in a journey to become a THE Tentacle Monster and I've found the lack of recipes for mutagens pretty disappointing.
>>97275856It is, and I didn’t
>>97276542>have you considered supporting the player transforming into one of themNo but the succubus has her own Corruption table. Other than that, that's more for homebrew especially considering how succubi and incubi work in Labyrinthus>All it would really take is having XP costs for the relevant traits and feats, and maybe a frameworkThat's a lot of work, balance-wise, especially if you read the succubi and vampire Traits>maybe a framework to better come up with the rituals to do it The framework is Oracles+Imagination. You don't always need the game to tell you what to do, just get the idea and go>a journey to become a THE Tentacle MonsterThere are many ways to mutate, mostly through corruption. Mutagens are left vague so you can come up with something. Or make a homebrew. Most of the stuff I add is often something suggested which is simple, but if it's complex either it requires me to put effort OR to use homebrews as inspiration and currently I'm focusing on testing and making sketches. if you want to can post your ideas in the discord so you can also test them and have other test them too>I was about to download the latest updateI hope you still had downloaded the update
