8 and under are subhumans in the eyes of women.
9 are maybe human.
10 are the only worthy ones for them.

Also, you likely got graded by homosexuals, so for women you are likely even lower.

Well, it was separated by sex (actually, the men rated me between 9 and 7, so they kinda gay for me. While the women were between 6.5 and 7).
Maybe you are right in women having high standards but I think I now trust my chances more, not all women would only "settle" for a 9
>>
>>97268630
You're only seeing part of the picture. Physical looks are half of the equation for women, the rest is an even mix of status and excitement. If you have a reputation, resources, or make her feel strongly in some way, that will add multiple points on the sliding scale. These all stack. If you're successful in life and approach situations with confidence, you can succeed at picking up chicks. This would be infinitely easier with supernatural powers and already isn't difficult. You would need to be brain-damaged to fail at romance whether or not you have a waifu geas.
>>
>>97268663
>not all women would only "settle" for a 9
True, you should aim for a 2 or even a 3 if you feel lucky.
Otherwise going for a "woman" might allow you to looks match.

A number of backers have reported gotten their books already. It's seriously unlikely any of them would be willing to part with their books anytime soon for destruction & scanning.

On average, any new PB production takes up to at least a year from physical copy to PDF, depending on demand & sales of the actual book.

Trench Raiding With The Lads Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

Tips for assembling my first warband? You know, nothing power gaming style but like how it was better to start your Mordheim warband with recruiting heroes first since they gained experience, etc.
>want to play new antioch since everyone else playing bad guys or trench pilgrims and I always like the normal soldier vs super natural thing
>I'm planning my band mostly based on looks and vibes, like at least one big guy with a heavy machine gun because of pic related, one melee guy (storm trooper or priest), a sniper priest with a sniper, at least two yeomen infiltrators with a flamer or smg/shield, not sure if it's worth bringing medics early in the campaign
>after reading the rules it feels like basic armor and shields are very useful here, unlike mordheim
>>
>>97268585
Sniper Priest with an MG is far better.
>>
>>97268611
I just want to look out for traps like trying to do melee with a shooty army or the like, if the sniper priest is worse with a sniper but still functional then I'll take the cool vibes over power. If he's trash broken with a sniper rifle and a straight up detriment then I'll drop the plan.
>>
>>97268585
>recruiting heroes first since they gained experience
Same thing here with elites.

With NA, boys before toys. You should aim to be playing 9 or 10 models (the maximum allowed) in the first game.

the paid dm defenders have always said they help people with no friends, but the last few months they are being promoted as
>fun for friends
>give your dm a break
>let your group try a new system

As paid DMing continues to emerge from the shadows it's primarily resided in, I think more people will come to see it as its own thing and not a replacement for unpaid DMing, just like prostitution is its own thing and not a direct equivalent to unpaid sex.

If you're giving someone $300 for an evening of entertainment, there's certain things you can expect from them and even demand from them.

idgi
>>
>>97268635
From what little I know, it varies but usually it's an hourly or per session rate, each player being charged individually so they're incentivized to use their time as best they can
>>
>>97268635
The few places I've seen tend to do a charge per session, per player. Every who wants to play pays up like 10-20 bucks up front and then the prostitute runs a game for them for 4-5 hours. Seemingly, most people who are willing to pay for these things are not looking for very much nonsense, so as long as the game happens and moves along at an okay pace, they will gladly keep showing up to play and go through the bare minimum motions.

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.
- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.

Thread question: How often do you use an official GURPS setting? Which are your favorites?

In a single Fire Emblem video-game campaign, does the player seriously care about all forty playable characters? Or does he focus only on a particular set of ten or twenty characters that he actually brings to missions, and mostly bench the others? (Genuinely asking, since I've never played one of these games, though I've watched a few playthroughs.)
>>
>>97268484
Make a TO&E, down to individual solders kit. Give them all names, and three or so personality traits. Don't give them generic NPC stats, or if you do, randomize them slightly. Roll for their attributes, maybe even skill levels. 2d+4, 8-16. From there make sure the PCs know the name of any dudes they interact with, and have some idea of their personality. The players will do the rest of the work. Once they've narrowed in on ones they like or dislike flesh those ones out, backstories, and proper sheets.
>>
>>97268345
Not in GURPS, but I have run a campaign that was very similar in concept. Campaign concept was building a globetrotting mercenary company from scratch. Started as just the PCs, and then they recruited as they got more money and took bigger contracts. By the time the campaign ended (due to an unfortunate PSU blowout that fried the drive that had all of my notes/maps/content/statblocks) they had something to the tune of like 25-30 bespoke companions in addition to having come into possession of a small fiefdom.

The way I ran it when the number of NPC recruits menat their party was still in the single digits or lower 2 digits, was they were just always around, both in RP and Combat. I did all the RP for them as i knew the backstories/personalities but made sure to only have them speak up when it seemed like they should and let the PCs(as the officers corps of the company) take the limelight.

In combat however I would let Players choose who they would want to control when they were hired, and from that point on that Player always controlled them in combat, so they would learn their abilities/role and be able to play them faster, although i made sure to keep their statblocks simpler than a proper PC. I would be sure to balance out how many NPCs a player got control of, letting players with better system mastery/faster turn taking take more, as well as just based on who had a particular liking to the NPC. Oftentimes they would choose ones that their PCs would be more likely to be closer with, so it was like they were controlling little clusters of friends as the campaign went on. Players would also make gear + level up choice decisions for the NPCs they controlled (within reason, i.e a pious character wouldnt use some unholy item or their wouldnt be ability choices available that wouldnt make sense with the characters development)

Part 1/2 cost post is getting too long
>>
>>97268523
In reality, you usually bench the others and roll with a rotating set of 10 to 20 as circumstances call. Stat gains are randomized in the series, and not every character is made equal with growths and how RNG favors them. So even if they do level with the party some characters can be bricked and turned into bench warmers, Some were never good to begin with. Other characters are just so good they become indispensable.
>>
>>97268609
Once the company got large enough to feel unwieldy in the average combat, i started implmenting a few way to try and limit how many men they had in a given encounter. Sometimes it was semi-diagetic ways, like in couple times they were in a siege so there were constant encounters, and healing/resource recuperation in the semi-homebrew system i was using requires a good bit of rest time, so they had to form like an A team and a B Team, even a C Team at later point, to keep fresh fighters in rotation, which limited party size naturally. Other times I would just be above board with them when they were choosing contracts to take and just say "You can select X number of companions to bring on this contract because bringing everyone would get obnoxious". Once they had the small fiefdom, this also felt more natural as the excuse was "some people gotta stay behind to run things.

I still occasionally would run encounters with the whole gaggle of NPCs, but usually only some big climactic ones where the players were warned ahead of time the combat would likely take the whole session, if not stretch into a second.

I dont know if any of that helps, if you have some more specific questions about how running that campaign went i could answer them.

That anon wants magic to always be impossible to understand. He won't even accept a hypothetical omniscient god being able to understand it. He wants his magic to remain magic always. He wants God's miracles to be miraculous even to God. He doesn't see the relativity of it.
>>

It wouldn't necessarily have to have the logic OF OUR WORLD.
Because fantasy is the faculty or activity of imagining things, especially things that are impossible or improbable.
It can have things that are:
>natural to it and natural to us
>unnatural to it and natural to us
>natural to it and unnatural to us
>unnatural to it and unnatural to us

I'm not going to waste my time explaining it yet again.
>>
>>97266432
>It wouldn't necessarily have to have the logic OF OUR WORLD.
Irrelevant. Logic is logic. I don’t care how alien it is. The beauty of magic and the supernatural is that it’s relative, not literal. How else do you think fiction works? One fiction’s concepts/contents are not going to be another fiction’s concepts/contents. What is magic in one setting is not going to be magic in another. Even the ability to manipulate the four classical elements is not necessarily going to be regarded as magical. It might be TOO natural. Far too casual. It’s just something people do.

Magic, like power, is relative. This is why there’s such an overlap with superpowers and concepts of “knowledge is power”. If everyone is super, no one is super, and it is the same with magic—unless society is continuing to use the word as a reference point for wonder and wisdom, or mystery and mastery, etc. Because even in a true Atlantean-esque era like our own, people aren’t going to be convinced of the sheer wonder and amazement they were born to. They’re too used to it. They’re far too exposed. It’s far too natural, casual. But even magic in the past was seen as this natural field. It’s ironic.
>>

Mommy's home! What an unforgettable, brilliant use of my time, having a willing Prince in my clutches while I tour Europe over Christmas week! A pity they had business to attend to on New Year's.

Ideally we could set the operation in the the night between the 2nd and 3rd day of January, where the kine are off the streets. A lovely way for Bridgeport to start the new year indeed.
If we can count on the kine police's assistance, I would like the buildings within the perimeter of the "crime scene" to have their utilities (electricity, gas, telephone, internet, roads), anything and everything, suspended while nothing or no one enters or leaves the are, until our "investigation" is concluded.
We would also like to commence our operation without issuing any warning, lest the enemy weapons be loaded and ready at hand.
House Venus is waiting for the Prince's authorization to proceed as well as to know who is going to assist us from the local kindred enforcers and coteries. I bet there's a Brujah who can't wait to bash some skulls.
>>97261365
Provided said various kindred are introduced and obedient to the Prince properly, we could use their help, our cause is just.
The cauldron-born sound a bit too unwieldy in this age where cameras are everywhere, and so are wi-fi and satellites that can count eggs on a table.
Counting more heads, House Venus has 10 more Allies in total, 8 ghoul Retainers, and Boy Toy has 4 dots in Armory which is exactly what is needed to have House Venus +2 more people in full SWAT gear.

It is a Skirmish wargame. Two players with their own expeditions, on a hexgrid map, explore & fight each other for victory and profit.

3 versions of the rules exist, 2 of which have been playtested. The main one is 2e, to be found :

as with maps, tokens and lore resources.

Since we're on the topic, I had some ideas rattling around to dump out. I never managed to piece them together into something I liked though:
>Tubman was living in New York (State not city) at the time of the raid
>New Mu takes slaves as seen with the Morlocks, probably human ones too, maybe several Americans
>Tubman had served as a scout/spy during the Civil War and led troops
>Confederato forces are running around in the 4th layer as part of the golden syndicate too, the same layer New Mu mainly lives on
>Also Atlan exists
Napoleon semi-accidentally on purpose unlocked his powers by shooting himself, Malcolm (was nagged by his GF) sought out the Shadow Palace on the 8th (I think), so my view is that someone/thing went to the surface and offered Tubman her deal. She was retired with a family at the time of the New York raid so unless someone went out of their way to get her going I don't see her moving from civilian life to a millitary one again. I kept working over the idea of her joining the long march on her own to help free captured Americans, but by the 1870s I think it would have been more likely she would have worked to raise money instead unless some mysterious force gave her cool powers to help guide the long march.

>Stage Coach as Renault
Like the War Wagon from that one film or a more classic wooden one? Considering the US' mobility gimmick I vote for the latter.

For lost men, do you want any polishing assistance? I wrote some of the current ones and can try to elaborate on what I was going for in the case of clumsy wording.

>>Tubman ...
I'm good with these. Tubman could likely have met someone in the Underground however, since the Abo started going underground earlier than most (even if they didn't realize where they were going). The New Mu affair, especially if there was some shady backdoor deal with Atlan, would work better imo as a justification for her feeling a sense of urgency and getting worried her cause is losing relevancy. We could also aggregate a few other social movements under the larger umbrella of the Abolitionists.

Latter, and given how strong the US range game is, just parking a Gunslinger and another model on top already gives you a pretty darn good firebase, I wouldn't want to emphasize that too much.

>Maybe using multiple stage coaches in a circular formation could give buffs to the units inside?
I like that very much, I'll try to work that in.
>Isn't John D. Rockefeller the obvious option?
I guess so, not being a burger makes these things much less obvious to me, desu. Doesn't necessarily need to be a named character either.

>For lost men, do you want any polishing assistance?
Given their mercenary recruitment rules, its not strictly necessary to add units, they'll already have access to everything in the Merc book, but have to respect the 50% rules otherwise. The Lost Man is probably much too cheap at 3 Silver, either it keeps the base Discipline or loses 1 Health box?

I vote against having a named guy for the industrialist. We already have Edison in the background and the Neptunium baron for oil stuff, having an ambitious but as-of-yet unsuccessful generic character works better in my mind. Most famed American industrialists were not known for getting out in the field too often.
>Lost Man price
When I wrote it, however long ago that was, I think most units were a little cheaper. Instead of adding any more caveats to the already fairly complicated rule governing them I'd recommend just bumping the price up to where they're still cheaper than the units they imitate. At a price of 5ish they aren't economical to copy cheap mercs like the Outlander Irregular, but they do add a bit of a discount when picking up classics like the rebel. Three lost men at a price of 5 each and three rebels to copy gives you 36 silver as opposed to 42 for six rebels flat.
It mostly comes down to the ratio of discount we're looking for, keeping in mind the risk of the models becoming effectively worthless if they get moralblasted. Keeping their price the same but reducing their native stats could also work.

Of course they aren't, and the other flavor of tranny aren't men. It's all delusion, just like saying you are your Player Character in any capacity.
>>
>>97234702
Nope and everybody that does is either a fag or a tranny in denial.

I don't get it.

>I am not them
Nobody said you were
>I am not my Player Character
Nobody said you were
>I will never be my player character
Nobody said you would be
>if you deny those facts, you are a delusional subhuman tranny
Nobody accused you of being your character. Nobody accused you of being a transexual. You are arguing against a straw man. Imagining isn't being. You are imagining. You are not being. Now that you know this, defend the original claim that you (or the anon you're assuming the role of) made, which is that roleplaying as a female character is a masculine thing to do. Or you can just say for the umpteenth time that you're not a tranny

Nobody said they are their player character. Both sides repeatedly state the opposite. Everybody is in agreement on that, so why do schizos keep hallucinating that somebody is claiming that to be the case?
