>>97243773Short answer is that it's generational.Long answer is that back in the early 2000s, you could get Channel 4 for free as long as you had an antenna for your TV. Everyone was watching KidsWB, including a lot of inner-city black kids. As an inner-city black parent, you have the choices between buying pokemon shit to keep your kid out of trouble, buying yugioh shit to keep your kids out of trouble, or letting them roam the streets and potentially get wrapped up in gang shit. So, black kids get into yugioh at a young age. Then they teach their younger siblings how to play the game. Then they reach unc status and teach their nieces and nephews how to play the game. And it gradually gets passed along through that. It helps a lot that the series is flooded with evil demons and sexy women, too.

is there mecha stuff in SF2E? Where did they put it?
>>97245120Operative, Solarion, and Envoy being so dysfunctional is what really makes the "lol we have no plans for a Fall errata everything's fine!" stance Paizo took all the more baffling.>>97245083I would argue that even if you somehow went into SF2e with no pre-existing understanding of Paizo products and your only experience with sci-fi/science fantasy is Trek Wars starring Patrick Stewart as Picard Solo the Red Shirt Jedi, I think most normies would let weird races pass by unmolested. It's a lot more understandable to not have the standard fantasy race affair when you are literally exploring the galaxy and/or multiverse. The only thing I can kind of see people getting miffed by is not having a Wookie analogue, but that is a bit hard to cater to because you can't just fake it like you can with Halfings totally not being Hobbits. Especially nowadays when you got Mickey Mouse devouring Star Wars, that would be an IP disaster the likes not even WotC could pull.>>97245268Pushed to 2026 alongside Mechanic and Technomancer and tactical space ship rules. Good to remember the mecha stuff wasn't in SF1e core either and that is a lot of page space.
>>97245297>Pushed to 2026 alongside Mechanic and Technomancer and tactical space ship rules. Good to remember the mecha stuff wasn't in SF1e core either and that is a lot of page space.god fucking damn itat least I won't have to rework my shit for my homebrew system for now
>>97245297I don't think you can "fix" Operative, Solarian, and Envoy with just errata, the time to fix it was between the playtest and release book, and now their entire design is compromised. Admittedly, I also just fundamentally disagree with a lot of the design decisions they went with, hell Operative is powerful but still feels like the most egregious one because somehow they both wanted it to not just be "ranged rogue" but it has all these vestigial callbacks to SF1e Operative that serve to just be useless shit taped onto it and makes me wish they hadn't beaten the class into being "Best At Gun" in a misguided attempt to make Envoy look better as a skill monkey.I suppose Solarian could be fixable by just adding shit to it, and changing how manifestations work?
>>97245366I would argue Operative and Envoy are fixable with errata. Operative is scuffed by the nature of its features going against each other or not doing much, which is pretty easily solvable with some patch jobs. Maybe just toss in Mobile Reload as a bonus feat if you wanna be like that, Striker is probably the one thing that requires substantial thinking to avoid page space concerns.Envoy definitely requires more reworking and likely needs to go back to the old Playtest ideas to make it viable. I think that one's biggest issue was trying to make it stand out compared to Commander but they overthought themselves into a corner. But since a lot of it is a matter of numbers and action economy, reverting the change can help. The only one errata can't really fix is Solarian and that's more an issue of it being sauceless than broken. Pretty much any later addition to its kit that can give it a real suite of powers, akin to Ranger gaining Warden Spells in the APG or Witch's Familiar abilities in PC1, will help it. Though an errata to make the Potency Crystals work for both the Flare (and give it the Brutal trait) and Weapon would be nice, don't know why they split it...
