I love minis and so should you :)post your favorite minis or minis that you think are terrible
The first fantasy miniature I ever painted has gotten lost over the years, but I managed to find another one via some eBay dredging. Heartbreaker Miniatures 119a, arrived pre-stripped. Now to find 119b that I also had, that one seems a good bit rarer.

>In the game Werewolf: The Apocalypse, the Garou (werewolves) were made to defend the earth from the cosmic forces that threaten to tear it apart. The Garou fight against the Wyrm, the destroyer. It is a struggle against nearly insurmountable odds, especially considering the rivalry between many tribes. These rivalries make it almost impossible for the werewolves to present a unified front against a cosmic force that pervades reality.>From this morass of hatred and mutual betrayal, there is little hope that the Garou can emerge triumphant against a foe so well armed as the Wyrm. The Wyrm promises money, power, sex, and whatever else the heart desires to its followers while the Garou receive no reward for their striving. It drives them deeper and deeper into despair, or into betrayal so deep that they choose to serve the Wyrm instead.Main Rulebooks:>Werewolf: The Apocalypse Rulebookhttps://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Werewolf:_The_Apocalypse_Rulebook>Werewolf: The Apocalypse Second Editionhttps://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Werewolf:_The_Apocalypse_Second_Edition>Werewolf: The Apocalypse Revised Editionhttps://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Werewolf:_The_Apocalypse_Revised_Edition>Werewolf: The Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Editionhttps://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Werewolf:_The_Apocalypse_20th_Anniversary_Edition>Werewolf: The Apocalypse 5th Edition Corebookhttps://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Werewolf:_The_Apocalypse_5th_Edition_CorebookComment too long. Are you supposed to play through Mulcharmys going first if you cannot negate them? I feel like the game is over in the first draw phase if I don't have Ash as a response to Fuwalos
>>97216262Where is my state-mandated DMG?
>>97216469I think there's no reason not to play into them, ending your turn early is a guaranteed loss, trying to make your full board at least has a chance of winning anyway depending on what they draw. If it's game 1 and you don't know what your opponent's on they might be on some really jank deck that could draw 30 cards and still not break your board. Some decks don't even benefit from resolving one all that much and still run them because their opponent will fumble and misplay the instant a mulcharmy activates, which is to say that in a lot of cases there's nothing for them to even draw into, they're just bluffing that letting them draw is dangerous.
Why is it so common for fantasy rpgs that try to do the "Deep Lore" stuff to always default to Gnosticism or H.P. Lovecraft in a trench coat?
>>97208974Gnosticism is gay. Hermeticism is where it's at.

>>97214217maybe stop playing with leftists then
>>97214217>all demons are objectively evilin Christian mythos, gargoyles and grotesques are demons who seek to redeem themselves in the eyes of God. They cannot enter churches but guard them from the outside, a reminder that even the most wicked soul can find redemption

You shut your whore mouth anon, Dou is a saint. A saint!
the thing about demons is that if your setting has fallen angels, it raises a lot of questions about the ontological evil of demons>if fallen angels are demons, how did they go from being good to incapable of good>if demons arent angels, then why is the cosmos asymmetrical in a way that favors evil? Did demons create it

Since this year is about to end and next year will be the last of this 4th edition, does anyone have any idea what we will see in 2026?
>>97216189So underworlds is a deck building game, that also has minis that you run around a hex tile board It's usually 3-7 models in a warband, whereas warcry tends to be 10.
>>97216241Doesn't really matter. He's like the Emperor from 40k, he doesn't really do anything anymore compared to the age of myth. We don't really get anything about his personality
>>97216459So wildly incorrect it’s not even funny.
>>97216189>Got me beat, I actually am new to AoS no idea what the Underworld is and how it differs.Warhammer Underworlds is a board-miniature-cardgame mix. Each player has one warband (between 3 and 7 miniatures generally) and 2 decks: One for objectives and one for upgrades+strategy cards. The game is played in a hex board (similar to the new Warhammer Quest)Win the game the player that earns more glory after 3 rounds (each with 4 activation-turns for each player)Glory in won by either completing objectives (botton of the objective cards shows how much you gain from doing it)(gold cards) or killing opposing fighters (1 for each fighter, 1 extra if the fighter had 5 or more hp)(2nd edition is a bit different)Glory comes unspent (gold coin) and you can spend it (turn it face down) to play upgrades to your fighters (they still count for determining the winner of the game)Each fighter card has its characteristics written/displayed (how much hexes it moves, how much defense dice it rolls and what is a "hit" for them, hp, attacks, and abilities)(2nd ed each warband has an warscroll) so you don't have to reference things in external materials.During an activation you choose a fighter and then chose between move, charge(move+attack), attack or wait(do nothing) (if you move you put a move token meaning that you can't give another move action to the fighter for the rest of the round)(for charge you put a charge token that makes the fighter unable to make move or attack actions for the rest of the round). After the activation you can play a card (either a ploy that happens immediately (most of times) or pay for an upgrade)___Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

These rat ogre sculpts are really awesome. Heads and left arms are interchangeable with bodies.Looks like they had a rather short shelf life (?) since GW introduced the multipart plastic kit quite soon after these. I'm in a minority but I don't dislike those 6th edition plastics either. I prefer them over newer plastics, as well as the bald 4th edition metal ones.
>>97213090Got a scheme picked yet?
>>97213532Yes, actually; a /mydudes/ Craftworld called Katre-Kaan. Colours I have in mind are a forest/olive-y green with bone-white as the accent colour for helmets etc.Fluff I've got for them so far is they believe in returning the Eldar to their glory days, but unlike Biel-Tan who think the best approach is to kill everyone else, they're instead trying to build a sort of mini-empire in some corner of the galaxy for them and their friends to fuck off to and pretend everything else isn't happening, with their Craftworld parked in orbit above a maiden world. They're trying to convince other Craftworlds to join them, and also sending occasional piratical raids to find and take resources/treasures from lesser races to keep in their "empire". They're very chummy with Exodites. With the exception of the "requisition" raids, they're generally not openly aggressive but are VERY territorial about their domain and won't tolerate trespassers.
Sup GROG, me and my friend had our first game of 40K 4th Edition today. Lots of fun, but we had a few questions regarding melee combat.>Can you shoot an enemy model that's engaged in combat by another friendly unit?>Can you consolidate into another round of combat?>Passing a morale check after losing a combat just makes the squads pile in, right? And if so, does another round of combat happen?Maybe some of these answers are obvious but we missed them due to the heat of battle.
>>97215677>>Can you shoot an enemy model that's engaged in combat by another friendly unit? No.>>Can you consolidate into another round of combat? You can consolidate into contact, but combat does not start until the next round.>>Passing a morale check after losing a combat just makes the squads pile in, right? It has cool art, although it's all derivative of Fromshit. It has a neat vibe, but it's also derivative of Fromshit. I'm not really sure what else there is to say. There's clearly passion and talent behind it, but all that energy is put into making something that isn't even remotely unique or interesting. There's basically no reason the artist couldn't have turned it into some kind of splat book, setting book or even a fighting fantasy-esque game book. As it is it's an interesting idea that has no deeper value.

I like the lore of D&D, I like the mechanics of Warhammer Fantasy, so just for fun I want to try and build functioning armies for Warhammer Fantasy based on D&D creatures or factions. Anyone interested in getting shit done?
>>97211334The hardest thing to refine is, of course, the gish. The concept of a fighty wizard isn't entirely unheard of in Warhammer - Ogre Butchers, Vampires, and Chaos Champions of Tzeentch from 6e onwards all exist - but it's definitely rare, and the trick is coming up with a way to not make them utterly broken. Which, I think, is traditionally handled by making them super expensive, points wise?
