>>96518296>>96518309It meets a specific criteria I have which is “would look great dying in the background”. That might seem faint praise. And it is. But the Ark Royal would look great burning for an establishing shot.
>>96518296>>96518309>why is it named "Ticonderoga"?>well, T'Pol, you see it's named after a small strategically unimportant and largely indefensible fort that only the Imperial French ever managed to make work

>>96519495>Talismans/wards are made through thaumaturgy, which was nuked from the setting.Still false.>And since 1e, shadowlands are so inimical to life, that they begin to close if people live too hard near them, such as doing constant religious rituals and religious pilgrimages.I strongly doubt that the religious rituals and pilgrimages done by ancestral cults would close a shadowland.

>>96519526It seems like they're about as common as anything else that costs Resources 1, so I'm not sure the "thaumaturgy x gene" (I have no idea what you're talking about, sorry) is as rare as you think it is.>Ironically enough, yes, since they are done by the living.Doesn't seem to be supported by the text.

>>96517242Funnily enough, in a very obscure bit of Ink Monkeys lore there was this wolf the Primordials made to live at the end of time meant to eat everything. The Maidens took the Sun there and he destroyed it. So technically, whatever Creation’s eventual future the Unconquered Sun has at least ensured a big wolf won’t gobble it all up.That too, was probably a reference.

May as well fill in on what Ilska and Skivare have been up too since the bandit fight. Ilska has been leading raids against Empire soldiers passing by on nearby roads under the banner showing Black Thorns, while Skivare has been sneaking in with small numbers at night to shank sleeping Bretonian work camps leaving images of roses in blood. Both have left Skogs forest borders to do so, meaning she has no idea this is happening.

Why don't we have more urban settings set in periods of history like the Victorian era/Steampunk instead of millions of pseudo-medieval clones like Forgotten Realms?

Tbh I've always preferred it when mechs are used in a setting that isn't trying to be realistic even in other ways. Instead I like it when mechs are used as a sort of...faction dressing to show you what a faction is all about. Like how in 40k the Imperium's mechs are basically walking Cathedrals, the Tau's are all high-tech and mobile, the Eldar got those graceful giant lithe mecha, etc.
>>96518682I looked into it a while back and recall it being another battletech heartbreaker. That's nice and all and I'm sure it's a fine game but I just can't get worked up for it.
Is limited customization a dealbreaker for a mecha game?
>>96519533If you're gonig into the game expecting AC or BattleTech I would suspect so.
>>96519533Depends on the experience you're trying to offer. I've always felt that the "what do you mean it isn't a garage sim?" guys are usually just coming in from the videogames. You go over to anime and the mechs are more frequently bespoke and customization is more like adding extra thrusters or using a different gun.It also tends to suit more for skirmish either way.
So as an evil cultist, an aspiring cleric, which of the evil deities of Faerun is it worth following?
Mystra, your evil cleric spends all day teaching dangerous magic to morally questionable wizard people who want to fireball the town hall. Oops, sorry guards, I didn't know he had issues like that tenth time this month gee whiz
>>96518972Yeah, seems like the best of the Dead Three, but he still sells your soul to hell. If he doesn’t punish you for failure. Best case scenario you turn into a soldier devil instead of a lemure or soul coin.>>96519025She’s rather neutral than evil, no?
>>96519060
>>96519169I got it, chuckled a bit, then went back on subject
>>96519060Mystra (neutral good) accepts lawful evil clerics, however, they probably have a hard time getting along with the majority of the clergy. Could make for an unusual player character. One can use magic for evil deeds without violating the dogma

Am I missing anything or do Free/Far Traders flying off a C or D starport really always have a 25% chance or so of misjumping? In Traveller Classic, that is, the 1977 rules.> Throw 12+ for a misjump to occur, DM+5 if within 100 planetary diameters, +3 if using unrefined fuel (except military and scout ships), -1 if using refined fuel, +2 if operating beyond the required date for annual maintenance.Meaning as I said, on a 9+ on 2d6, misjump. And then class C and D starports, offering only unrefined fuel, are like 42% of all randomly generated starports? And then 50% chance the hex they pop up in has nothing by raw. That all sounds fucking painful, unless you somehow stick to A and B ports. I guess that explains all those low population planets. Are there other modifiers I missed somewhere? Something like, god the gas giant presence roll that's just a random line in book 2 instead of being in book 3. The 1981 rules are so much kinder about it, damn.Traveller thread I guess.
>>96514237>>96514856There are also plenty of people who prefer the 77 ruleset to the 81 ruleset because of the setting implications the rules have.

>>96513599Ya know, that's a good idea to use as a counterpoint to the more recent official groups they've put out. I like my enemy groups being a mix of different ideologies rather than just whatever side the writer doesn't like. Also why I don't like making characters into bland stereotypes.
