Have you ever roleplayed a character with a spouse around, not just one that died in their backstory? Did they join in as an actual character and if so, how did your gm balance you having an extra helper?

My current PF2e character for Season of Ghosts, my tanuki rogue, has a husband and two adult children. They haven't seen a lot of screentime right now, with her husband out-of-town, but she dotes on her children sometimes during downtime.

Gamma World, party was negotiating an alliance with a city of mutants. Their representatives were pretty human looking, just blue with prehensile tails. They wanted someone to bind our two peoples with a marriage with their chief's daughter and I agreed. Turned out they had all sorts of mutants and the chief and daughter were mutant skunks. Jokes were made, but she was actually pretty cool and took to adventuring with the party. There wasn't much to balance with her being around, she could handle an extra gun in a fight and was a good scavenger but but nothing broken. By the end she and my pc settled down and had a few hybrid kids after finding some advanced medtech that allowed it.

Our characters ended up getting married in game after we got married in real life. Sadly, our DM died so we didn't continue the story out of respect.

In a Dnd 3.5 West Marches style discord I played a spontaneous retainer to a half-vampire sent on a suicide mission by her family who saw her as a monster (My character didn't know for quite some time). She also outlived several generations of her kin, but had fine control over her thirst (The PC willingly dealt with having penalties).

It was the two of our characters in the region, which each region having different groups and DMs. So my character accepted the paying job and status of retainer (Dragon-Shaman and fighter) while they played a bard stormsinger (mf rolled 30+ damage lightningbolts). Our characters combined covered for each other in interesting ways, resulting in the two becoming a power couple in the discord. They also had some drama, but ended up getting together and getting married, with my character learning about her vampiric secret beforehand.

The spicier the better. I'll start to get the ball rolling:

MTG, DnD and Warhammer are actually good for the hobby. They get new people started in this hobby and they keep the trend chasers contained and away from the rest of the hobby.

Appealing to the normie masses is a necessary evil in order to keep what you love afloat. Even if it comes with the negative baggage of doing so.

Generals are good for /tg/.

To be fair, he didn't. They explicitly undermined him and disobeyed orders.
Hitler and Stalin both experienced these issues throughout the war, though Stalins issues with his own generals had nearly disappeared by '44 when the red army had thoroughly decimated the Wehrmacht and was just making its way to Berlin. What Hitler really should have been doing is executing high ranking Wehrmacht officers back in France.

seems like the widowmakers being a "symbol of defiance" despite not being anything like that in life seems more like early installment weirdness, because we know the symbol wasn't removed from clan records

wolverines would definitely be a more logical symbol for anti-clan independents
>>
>>96504744
Widowmakers highlighted a lot of flaws in the clan system, especially in the way they got railroaded into absorption. You can point out many ways in which the council was blatantly unfair and biased and didn't even so much as pretend to check themselves.

He revealed a bunch of things in the video he dropped today.
>One of the battle formations give you +2 move if a unit has 3 DPP
>He thinks the Dominator Engine had move 5, which means it can get move 10 in that battle formation
>Dominator engine with maces can fight again VS heroes, but then it strikes last when doing the second "fight".
>Cohorts are 1w 3+save, basically mortek guard
>Bull Centaurs have mortals on sixes to hit
>It is correct that the Hobgrots have a deployment phase free move
I might be forgetting some stuff.
Was really hoping the Cohorts had 2w, I think it would make so much sense for Dwarfs in general.
Overall it looks like shooting is a trap to me, which I'm quite happy with.
>>
>>96493688
Is this considered a spearhead or just a "race" set?

I feel that comparing other sets is way less minis, however point wise i can see the golem and war machine being the ones who suck the points out

And as every other anon mentioned, i fucking hate how they shave some of the chaos dorfs or not show their beard

>>96504505
Guess the hobgrots will be fodder and objective campers?
>>
>>96504505
I'm confused, do the dwarf warriors come in 5's or 10's? It seems like only 5's, so 1 wound each is kinda pitiful.

Getting the feeling the centaur spam will be the way people play. The construct profile looks good on it's face but the averages on it are pretty eh.
>>
>>96504636
Even ironbreakers come in groups of 10, so i doubt the chorfs will consider themselves below dorfs

10 chorfs for maybe 100-120 points?

An interesting times situation, where she meddles to add additional conflict and/or adventures should things remain uneventful for too long.

I'd still go for immortality as quickly as possible but even if I secure my survival the added intrusive adventures should provide a secure source of entertainment right?

it's a perfect comparison for what GW did with Primaris. And it's precisely why GW doesn't deserve any money now. If Primaris is the best they can come up with these days for a model refresh, why even bother playing this dogshit game?

It's a shitty comparison because it cuts off the part where Bruce Wayne goes "if he can do it, I can do it" and then gets also bigger.

It's supposedly going to be dropping here soon (it was supposed to drop this summer, but apparently they needed more time to cook). I went to their Twitter page, and it only has 120 followers, so I'm feeling a little nervous. Worst case scenario, I can pinch off lore that they've promised to include if they completely butcher the actual game mechanics and shoehorn things into a better system if I have to. I hope I don't.

Anyone familiar with Skydawn games, or are they a "literally who" of the TTG scene?

The Techer is one of my favorite renditions of a magic warrior/gish in games. Just beat the shit out of everyone with an elemental infused with a want that conspicuously looks like a sword or a mace and fall back on normal ranged spells whenever I needed. The Phantom using the staff as a scythe and the Etoile turning the wand into a huge laser were also really fun.
>>
>>96498429
I really hope they give us something for the scion classes. They were all fun as hell.

It always saddened me how we didn't got Scion classes for the other weapons. I feel like a monk-like class with the fists and the jet boots was something a lot of people hoped for but it unfortunately never happened.

Am I missing anything or do Free/Far Traders flying off a C or D starport really always have a 25% chance or so of misjumping? In Traveller Classic, that is, the 1977 rules.
> Throw 12+ for a misjump to occur, DM+5 if within 100 planetary diameters, +3 if using unrefined fuel (except military and scout ships), -1 if using refined fuel, +2 if operating beyond the required date for annual maintenance.
Meaning as I said, on a 9+ on 2d6, misjump. And then class C and D starports, offering only unrefined fuel, are like 42% of all randomly generated starports? And then 50% chance the hex they pop up in has nothing by raw.
That all sounds fucking painful, unless you somehow stick to A and B ports. I guess that explains all those low population planets.
Are there other modifiers I missed somewhere? Something like, god the gas giant presence roll that's just a random line in book 2 instead of being in book 3. The 1981 rules are so much kinder about it, damn.

Traveller thread I guess.

>I just wonder how much they played with this at all at the time they wrote it, or if their players only flew to A and B ports like I said in the OP.
I have no idea but I would assume a lot of C and D starport travel took place. I can't believe that many people would enjoy a game where misjump party wipes off a single die roll were so common.

Well this was another unexpected find while going through the several boxes i picked up for dirst cheap at an estate sale.

The core 3 black books of Traveller.

Pretty sure these are 1st edition as says 1977. If theres more I have not seen it yet. Currently reading through. Working through chargen to see how it plays out.

So the career section really is fairly lethal on PCs. Two Scouts with not bad stats croaked on their 2nd tours. Merchant with ok stats somehow made it through a full set of tours and scored a commission each time.

Bout as far as got so far.

Trench Crusade General - /trench/
Weird love Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online, but are split between the website and the discord. They have all been collected here for your convenience:
