These "what do you eat while gaming" threads always astound me with the amount vitriol they inspire. I just don't understand it. The association between food and gaming has been universal as far as my experience of the hobby and I've never seen anyone react negatively in the way people do here. I don't know if it's some unique form of /tg/ autism, ex-fatties hating current fatties/their old selves or insecure nerds flag-waving about at least not being fat, but it's very odd.
For most people, food is a natural part of socialising whether that's going out for dinner to catch up with old friends, having a picnic at the end of long hike or bringing out some snacks when you invite people over to watch the game. You don't need to be fat to appreciate food.

To actually answer your question OP, I'm in two groups at the moment. For both of them we'll usually break halfway through for a meal which will 50/50 either be something nice and home-cooked or simple takeout depending on how busy the two girls of the group have been.
We'll usually have some snacks out on the table which could be anything from olives and a cheeseboard to a bowl of sour worms. One of the guys on one of the groups always brings some homemade jerky or biltong.

Most things look good, but I feel like I have to be the killjoy in the room and ask what the rationale is for Sorcerer and similar choices being able to automatically apply to "any esoteric energy reserves" and "expend mana" to "use spells" when magic isn't a thing in this setting, and also Troll being able to fiat regenerate cybernetics when neither is really a thing in the setting or as far as I can remember really thematically resonant?

An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

Yep, Warrior Saint Patron allows this as well Dragonslayer GS outperforms basically anything it's just that NA doesn't really have baseline guys that flip games aside from Trench Mole + Flamethrower. Medi-kit is really a waste of points this early, very rarely does it come up unless it's dedicated on one model you're trying to keep as beefy as possible. Your models are typically too far apart for it to get much if any use.
This is going to sound retarded of me, but I think with how limited and terrible the heavy weapons on KoA are, i think I'd really want to take siege jezzails. You can put them on an Anointed for a big nasty guy or on a trooper+armor+hat to get to 80 points for a guy with a lethal weapon and not a ton of waste all without a limit on the dammed things so later in the campaign every Tom Dick and Harry can hold one from a snipers nest.
Coin hammers out the gate seems incredibly wasteful with how expensive they are. Goetic Warlock letting you put more points elsewhere over the big puppy is an interesting choice though it's worse than the wolf but has fun plays with the chorister bubble

I know you probably dont intend for it but I have to say, campaign games warbands tend to be more fun when you build around a theme rather than a meta. Throughout the campaign what you started with will be so different by the end that just sticking to a theme will cause less of a headache on what you should be taking as rewards and equipment puchases.

If you use them both together a number of actions lose Humanity Costs entirely or net to positive:

For example, lets say that 'murderous ideation' means 'planning a cold blooded killing'. Then if you plan to kill a gangster who is poised to kill the owner of a bodega you would take a 1d6 hit for planning a murder, but then you'd gain 2d6 from saving their life.

For another example, you torture an enemy to get the combination from their safe to steal-back something important from them or halt their plans. You would take 1d6 for torturing them, but you'd gain 1d6 back from defeating someone.

The general jist is that justified or moralized violence can keep you entirely level; while wanton or cruel acts will see you spiral. Principled action and trying to maintain an ethical code will generally recover you HL in the long term.

Finally with the HQ rules and lifestyle rules for certain levels of accommodation you're netting some HL from there as well. The average edgerunner then can indulge in limited torture (especially when 'the ends justify the means) and violence, having become acclimated to threats of being killed and killing. What shakes them then has to be substantially dehumanizing, gruesome or soulcrushing; and generally only really grody stuff will cause more than a 1d6 hit.

Broadly while some tweaks may make sense, I think these charts are very good; with even murder-hobo character not swinging wildly in humanity so long as they're being cruel for sensible motivations. The only characters that will crater immediately are the unnecessarily and unrealistically cruel.

It's not particularly hard to create a strength 10 controller program (difficulty 20 to create, perfectly doable) which can then auto succeed every time. I know you have to make a different program for each type of object you want to control but the weight of a strength 10 controller is just 2 MU so you can have more than one, and honestly just one to control cars and maybe one for electronic doors should be more than enough.
I assume that you can only hijack cyberized cars and I assume those should be relatively rare, but none of that's written as far as I know. The example in the corebook makes it sound like you can hack and take over anything.

Humanity loss/gain is just a way of simulating a characters innocence and descent into unhinged psychopathy. I wouldn’t run it literally by book tables but I think its generally fair for someone doing knowingly fucked up shit to suffer some small degree of humanity loss.
Those who are characteristically running low EMP already would be less and less phased by such things and therefore less likely to lose humanity, that’s the way I see it.
My biggest issue conceptually with humanity system is that any player who wants to just play full murderhobo deathborg has to start the game with as high an EMP stat as possible meaning they are implicitly angels behind all the chrome.

I pointed this out in the banana thread. Those aren't artists opposed to AI; they're producers or creators. They aren't trying to make art, they are only making products or content to sell.
Artists don't care about AI, they will create their art no matter what other people say, the medium doesn't make a difference. Portait painters hated photography and said it wasn't art cause it made their products less extortionist, but painting still exists today, and photography can be art. It's why I say AI artists do already exist.
Now I will agree that there are people who took up drawing or penciling or whatever looking to make a job of it. So yeah, those guys are getting fucked. But they should also be the ones incentivized to embrace AI tools.

I'm part of a campaign that's been running it for at least three years now. the tech casting powers are a little silly and like half of the force abilities are just asset flips from actual 5E, but other than that we've had a lot of fun with it.

the character builder's decent but a little janky. there's a number of things that just aren't added to your sheet automatically, things like fighting styles, saber forms, and a lot of smaller class bonus abilities. there's no good mechanism for adding them to the character builder page either, so I've got all of mine listed as 'custom items'.

for me personally, it's my first tabletop campaign I've been a part of, and the system was pretty easy to figure out once I realized not everything your class gives you is listed on the character builder. we run a pretty RP-heavy game and it's been great at not intruding on that at all, which is a real problem I noticed when looking over FFG's system.

Just started a campaign and it's been... fine. Like the other anon said, a lot of Force powers are just 5E spells with a Star Wars coat of paint.
Been playing a Clone Trooper with a Heavy Repeater Rifle which feels a bit busted as long as I have ammo.
Basically, instead of making an attack roll, the weapon has the enemy make a Dex save and they either a single target takes 2x2D4 and then my modifier (currently +4) for damage or everyone in a 10 foot cube takes 2D4+modifier damage. Or half that on a successful save.
But as long as I'm shooting, I'm never not doing damage.
And I don't know how to feel about that.

And sure, being a Jedi is really powerful, but we don't see your average Jedi casting mass healing spells. Force users straight up use spell slots, now one big pile called "force points", and can rapidly run out in a way that a canon force user would not. This is probably to balance how powerful the system makes them, because otherwise the devs would need to completely rework all force related stuff, and I think they'd rather just have DnD 5e in Star Wars.

I haven't had a chance to use the starship combat rules extensively, but they seem ok. It just seems like it's not the best for simulating a fight between a y wing squadron and a victory class star destroyer.

A community around the system has adapted some DnD adventures in case you need some stuff to keep your players occupied while you plan other stuff. There are also expanded bestiaries out there, as well as an attempt to make a catalog of ships adapted for the starship combat rules. All of that should be accessible via the system's Discord server and I think some google searches.

But always remember: gonk droids are basically free grenades for force users.

I saw that duel. Team Taiyou going from the object of resentment into the hero of the people was an exciting turnaround. Zushin is a cool monster and I never heard of it before that duel.

It's not as big as your cunny-lection, i actually got a tiny binder for them because it's very likely there aren't many duel monsters wearing pantyhose. So far i have cutia, astellar, elzette, diabellstar, a bao a qu, verre, yuki-onna (only icicle and absolute zero, ice has tabi socks), selettrice, esper girl and serene psychic girl, but i'm not sure if the last two count since it seems they're wearing a body stocking instead. I'm also not sure if ixchel should be included, the pantyhose could instead be thigh highs or even skin discoloration with golden bangles (?) adorning her legs.

I got first print, 1st edition copies of every single card, again because i didn't think there'd be a lot.

heh, neither did I. I followed Yu-Gi-Oh on and off throughout its entire run but you don't really pay attention to certain things until you start looking for them specifically, as was the case here.

Share what the rulebook does well. If it has any cool features, call them out, because I want other rulebooks to also have the same cool features.

Share why the rulebook was a waste of money. (No points for not having a group that wants to play the game that the rulebook is for. That's a YOU problem, not a rulebook problem.

Try to focus on the rulebooks themselves instead of the systems.

I'll start. These are the same rulebooks as in the OP pic, in the same order.

D&D 4e Rules Compendium: I bought this book to use it as a reference for my 4e games. It had several sections in it that were extremely useful to have on-hand, which I've tabbed out: AoE charts, Skills and How To Use Them Impromptu, Vision Rules, and Actions in Combat. As a new GM at the time, having these rules in a dense brick of a book was great.

Ryuutama: I just bought this book. It's the entire reason for making this thread. Look at the side view. First off, it's a nicely printed hardcover book. Do you notice that the edges of the pages are in color-coded sections? Without knowing anything at all about the system, you can already tell what pages belong to what section of the game. Character creation, GM rules, monsters, skills... easy to reference at a glance!

The only other rulebook in this stack that sort of does this is the Genesys Embers of the Imperium supplement. Except it's not as good: the edges are only either dark or white. It still serves to separate the fluff from the crunch, which is still useful.

The much cooler thing about the Twilight Imperium Genesys books is that they come with a sewn-in fabric bookmark. It's not as useful for the core rulebook, but I can see it being very useful in the scenario book (War for the Throne, not pictured).
