How whimsical can CtL get? The theme of changelings being afraid of returning keepers grinds down a bit too much for me, and it's worked into so many aspects of the setting it makes me question if it's possible to get away from that. I just wanna be a fairy, man.

He wants the PCs to help embarrass her through a series of supposedly harmless faux pas to soften up her position so he can challenge her for the Crown at the next Spring Ball. He promises them cushy positions and titles of power once his decidedly more hedonistic court takes over. Do the PCs help? Do they curry favor with Pale Peony and rat out the rabbit? Or do they play both sides off each other and try to come out on top themselves?Changelings, I think, also make for prime crossover material if that's your thing. Vampires make a good dark mirror to to them. Both groups feed off humans, after a fashion, and are concerned with politicking and maintaining a stable territory. It's one of the reasons I made them the second main splat in my Lost Vegas setting.

I've become so infuriated by how poorly formatted REDs core rules are, and with many DLC that are basically mandatory like the stealth rules and solo of fortune, that I'm going to try and bash together a better rulebook (without changing the rules themselves), now that I've found what appears to be a decent open source PDF merge+edit program. I just can't in good conscience invite people to join a game with the rulebook in the state it is. Even before you had to jump through dozens of DLC it was a nightmare. If I can manage something at least usable I'll post it here, but I expect it'll be a bit uggo

It's a little impressive how bad rtal is at production runs. Rusted Chrome took 5 years to cancel, probably because Mike turned back to witcher, CDPR preasuered them to hurry the fuck up and release something 2077, Cody and Dolan wanted to do their own rpg, and now James has his own rpg. Keep in mind they were "excited to tell us more soon" about this book in Christmas 2024, and apparently actual game tools wise it was basically finished. It's taken an eternity for them to finish the new night city book, and it's launch date has been getting pushed back by 6 months every 9 months for ages until they finally settled on June, and these last delays seem to have been a result of delays to art production based on previous statements. Oh and let's not forget that the upcoming 2077 book is, for some reason, another campaign book. And all the little cancellations early on, like a book on netrunning in red or the highriders. Instead we get Trauma deck and single player mode. hooray....I just do not understand how they decide who works on what and when. an I hope they think hard about who they contract for art too, because between some of the uh, art, in hope reborn and this hiccup, it's clearly not going well

One day I was probably thinking Dominate for the dice pool, the other I was probably thinking Majesty, since Animalism, what it's actually based on, just uses Animal Ken. I can see the argument for either. Now that I think about it, I'm wondering why I didn't make the objects one Crafts. In any case, if you see a dice pool you find questionable, feel free to change it, you don't need my permission. It's stated advice in both the Foreword and the Final Words, and probably several places in-between. I'm happy to hear total strangers are taking an interest, and I really do appreciate the feedback, especially when something is genuinely unclear. But for matters of balance, unless completely broken, my advice is just to tweak things to your table's liking.
