>>97391678>The game is much more fun if you play a more "from your gut" game and don't plan your turns out in the minutest detalils because mistakes make the game more interesting. At the same time, though, the game punishes mistakes somewhat harshly. That's such a group dependent thing. I noticed it Five tribe. Got a group where we play by feel, quick and dirty. Not instant snap decisions but noone thinks about his turn for more than 20 seconds. The game is really fun that way. Then I played it with a different, more competitive crowd and the game was agonizingly slow and exhausting, and overall soured me on the design. Sure, you can say it's the players fault and the game wants to be played in a certain way, but I can't tell from just looking at it. Eg. Agricola would be shit if everbody just wings it.Really, your milage may vary and tbis variance in experience is inherent to most mid-heavy games, but really, just give me a comment box in the rules or something so I know how to set the tone and get the best experience.

>Based on everything I know about you I'm almost certain you're pro-choice. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, and I'll apologize, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. And no one who is pro-choice believes that human life has inherent value. If they did they wouldn't believe that unborn children's lives mattered less than the mother's convenience.Being pro-choice is BASED because it REMOVES potential Gohans from the GENE POOL. If those embryos wanted to survive, they should have been prepared to FIGHT for their LIVES in the WOMBT>he greater and perhaps more frightening implication is that "life" is merely sophistry in the grand scheme of the universe. You are, in essence, just a collection of atoms and molecules within a sea of atoms and molecules. BASED>Life itself has no inherent value and neither does any action you take. BASED>The concept of "death" does not exist. BASED>There is no such thing as death. BASED>A person doesn't die, after all. Their atoms, their molecules, they all still exist. All that's truly real is change. When you die, you cease to be what you were and disperse back into the cosmic sea of atoms to become something else instead. What sets life and humanity apart is self-awareness. BASED
>Humanity is not innately apart from the universe; we are as much a component of it as everything else. We are all made of exactly the same substances that the rest of the universe is. There is honestly nothing but scientific distinction that separates "a person" from the air molecules touching their skin. And yet humans are, as far as we are aware, the only component in existence capable of observing the universe objectively. We are the universe staring back at itself and realizing what it is. In absence of God or religious notions, the value of humanity is unfathomable because we are the stirrings of the cosmos itself awakening to self-awareness. We are atoms that know we are atoms and the implications of that, as the only observable beings which are ourselves part of a universe that is otherwise seemingly dead and unthinking, is incomprehensible.BASED, BASED, BASED. And you know what that BASEDLY means? It means that Gohan DESERVES to suffer and SHOULD suffer because I, the UNIVERSE, have decided that skinnyfat glasses-using balding git SHOULD.
>I brought up Epicureanism before because I think its key concepts are strangely poignant in today's society where life is really a stress test of everything and people basically live life on high anxiety. Lucretius' On the Nature of Things and the Epicurus compilation called the Art of Happiness are typical starting points.Epicureanism is FLAWED because it promotes STAGNATION. What if I find peace THROUGH pain and fear? What if I CONSTRUE moderation and tranquility as FAILURES of self-EXPRESSION? Because it sure FUCKING seems to be that EPICUREANISM sounds a whole LOT like it's a PRO-GOHAN stance.

Fuck my unlife now I have to go out with five women I ain't ever met, even seven maybe. No wonder Venus wanted to test my new shadow powers by fucking my tentacle, like she already knew how soon I'd need it.So Venus had to make a bunch of calls to cancel appointments and stuff my poor boyfriend had.I was miserable, those on the other side of the phone were miserable, I think mom is mostly over it, and she was overplaying her sadness, an Oscar-worthy performance.Venus did the shrewd businesswoman thing, and offered to have the women of the house fill in for my man. One lady will call us back when she's done mourning, another refused, but the way mom looked at me, she's confident she gonna call us back too. The rest were in.I used to mind my own business and ain't ever asked him about his customers, like, I didn't want him to think I was jealous and shit.Princess Charming got the biggest sadists and in my opinion she ain't been... unhappy enough about Boy Toy's departure.>>97392500I just wanna learn the basics, really.>>97392338Was their reaction, both immediate and not so immediate, to your liking? So if they sell them to a scalper for $40 per box that nets them $28,000; assuming a 4 way split that's $7000 each. >>97391037I'll have to give it some thought honestly. I don't think he'd want that in-character, but OOC the precedent (in oWoD at least) could make for a very dark end to the character. I could see the Abbey rituallistically carving this Werewolf apart piece by piece while she's alive, taking back her power to avenge their slain members. I know that on death, Uratha turn back into human form and all their werewolf-remains vanish. But I wonder if she was still alive and kept prisoner, could her claws and fangs be used? Her pelt still worn as cladding etc? Pic related would make for a very novel weapon for the Abbey to harvest (if they can just keep the damn werewolf contained). I can picture this ritualised event where the Abbey treat Duncan as a proxy for his father, splashing him with werewolf blood and layering the pelt on him as an honorific. I'll have to give it some thought, I don't want this idea to just come out of nowhere. If I do decide to go with the accidental Werewolf (Skindancers need 5 pelts or something but whatever), it'd need foreshadowing and buildup, not just a random bad-end.

This is a specification for an exterior ballistics software that can be used to calculate damage at long range in tabletop RPGs like Phoenix Command or GURPS where that sort of question arises with some degree of frequency. It takes in physical characteristics of a projectile (diameter, length, mass, etc.) and uses an ODE method to calculate velocity after a period of time has passed. I'd recommend either C++ or pure C for the programme as, particularly if you are generating tables for many types of projectiles, it can get very computationally intensive. For the specification, start with the formula for drag force, $F_d = \frac{1}{2}\rho v^{2}C_{D}A$, so $\frac{\rho v^{2}C_{d}A}{2m} = a$. The issue is $C_D$, which must be determined empirically. We have an advantage in that drag curves all look more or less the same in terms of shape and proportionality (multiply the drag coefficient on a G7 drag curve by about 1.9 and you will likely be pretty close to the drag coefficient at that mach number on a G1 drag curve). Thus, we define our generic drag curve as on the below table. When a bullet is between mach numbers you have the option of linearly interpolating between them, which is less realistic but easier to write code for and will run faster, or using a more complex formula such as Lagrangian or Newtonian Interpolation, which are more accurate but slower. The typical air density (rho) at sea level is 1.225kg/m$^3$. A typical speed of sound at sea level is about 340 m/s.
>>97391904Okay, so it looks like if you do 1-3 penetration you do 1 damage, and anything more than that you do massive damage.1. How many hitpoints does the average person have? Is a 4 penetration hit with 13 damage enough to kill them, or do PCs have more like 100 health?2. How much damage does a punch to the head do? You can definitely kill someone with a single punch to the forehead even though it doesn't penetrate the skull.
>>97391915(1) Every wound taken has a chance of killing a character. Divide Lethality by a character's Wound Recovery Potential to find Tissue Damage, then reference Tissue Damage on a table. 3 points of tissue damage is about a 2% chance to kill. 150 is essentially 100%. It's a sigmoidal curve, so the probability of death asymptotically approaches 1.(2) That's what 'BTBD' (Blunt Trauma Base Damage) is for. A very solid punch to the head fight deal 4 or 5 Impact base, which is then multiplied by 5.4 = 21.6 or 27 points of damage, or about a 53 or 54% chance of death, given that the wound is left entirely untreated. Medical treatment could decrease that to an essentially 0% chance of dying.
I personally feel that tabletop games shouldn't be too simulationist, but congrats
>>97392975Yeah, if you need a computer to help with the maths then that's real bad. If you have to worry about how computationally heavy the math is so the computer won't take too long doing it...And the real kicker with highly complex "simulationist" wound systems is that they quickly end up going way beyond what any scientific data can cover for them (going fully quantitative in situations where the science is in many cases barely qualitative), meaning the"realism" is just something the author pulled out of his arse.
>>97393090This is derived from the old COMPUTER MAN model that was cooked up by the US in the 70s and then the Germans' Verwungsmodell Schutzen from the early 2000s, both programmes having been develop with a lot of inputs from experts in the field of wound ballistics as surgeons and researchers.
