That's right, they practically don't exist because other races are simply inferior when it comes to necromancy and those non-human undead are so pathetic that everyone forgets about their existence in 5 minutes . Except for that one orc, but even he understood that he was worthless and therefore got himself a human body to finally become a full-fledged lich. So yes, here is your feature humans - necromancy, you know that I am right, you can't run away from the truth forever.

>>97834289>>97834977I do find it hilarious that the rebel pilot in the background is getting the full Mike Wazowski treatment. Oh, and by the way, I'm the sole Lorcana player. Could ya tell?
>>97835098I also play lorcana, though the post-rotation meta was almost immediately stale. I didn't add a single card to my BG Control deck with the latest set.
>>97835114Huh. That's funny. You'd think that the rotation would almost force you to adapt a bit. Me, I don't chase the meta, I just have fun with whatever they put out, even if it means I don't win much. Not trying to be snooty or anything, it just sounds like we enjoy the game differently.
>>97834922I played a few games of Altered and I liked it for the most part, it had interesting decision trees going on. If anything maybe the problem with gameplay was just how much you had to see every turn (cards to put into the mana zone, what to keep in the reserve, lane to play your cards, bunch of tokens to manage, three stats on each card to keep track of)It just had some really stupid concepts like the uniques or the QR codes uglying up the designsAlso didn't really like how the character design felt straight out of 2010s Tumblr
>>97835132Well yes, rotation killed all the prior meta decks. But the same decks have been played with minor adjustments in all three sets so far - blurple, dogs, purple/Steel, and Blue/Green control being the top decks in each format.
I do.
Wizard is basically just "wise man" and sorcerer comes from "sortarius", which is a fortune teller.
>>97830146Yes, and when what 3e and on calls "sorcerer" was introduced as a channeler in Player's Option: Spells and Magic. Except that they were a Con caster instead of a Charisma one, since it was linked to a fatigue system.
>>97833209It didn't help that Sorcerers (and other spontaneous casters) were screwed over by the metamagic system and the Wizard got bonus metamagic/item creation feats.
>>97831790>same proficiencies,Sorcerers got all simple weapon proficences while Wizards started with only club, dagger, light crossbow, heavy crossbow and quarterstaff. Didn't mean very much as the crossbows were pretty much the best of the simple weapons.
>>97833193I recognize, logically, that you can be 25 and this would still be true, but that makes me feel old, so I'm going to assume you're 18 years old and be angry that you're on my lawn. >>97833196Genuinely curious what your native language is. In English, "mage" has zero female connotations.

Shame about the super epic dragons)This, I am roughly okay with. As much as the 3.X-era books give a disproportionate amount of spotlight to the Church of the Silver Flame, in the grand scheme of things, it is relatively small compared to Sovereign Host and Dark Six worship. Jaela in 3.5 is merely a 3rd-level cleric outside of the cathedral in Flamekeep, and an 18th-level cleric inside; that is a reasonable limitation, I think.Comment too long. >>97834348>great britain society only works if you go for dark fantasyThousands of books in dozens of other genera begs to differ.
Would hunting outpace agriculture for the source of calory intake if large prey like the American bison were more endemic, and most of the continent not easily colonized by human settlers?I'm working on making a setting where the reason everyone, even women, knows how to use weapons in combat is because their land is geographically just supernaturally* good for grazing, which led to ginormous animals proliferating there.
>>97815762Nice summary, thanks.>>97786637Dunno if it counts as "lesser known" if only because I'm working with it and am generally a basic bitch. Also the fact that it's basically most of the best-known pantheons (Groman, Norse, Hindu) reduced to primordial soup. This guy's PIE-coded "Concavia" stuff is pretty neat btw. I particularly like how dark spirits are modelled after funky-headed cave paintings.https://kemono.cr/patreon/user/63597877>>97790637Thanks for the West and Dumezil recommendations though desu I've been playing so fast and loose that bringing things back in line with authentic myth might dampen some of the magic at this point.
>>97835117For instance I accidentally stumbled into the Striker and Many-Headed Serpent's rivalry with some of the usual roles reversed: A key aspect of the world is that it's a tautological time loop. One of the titans-aspirant will eventually consume their peers and then the whole world retroactively becoming the Ymir / Pangu primordial being who dies and decomposes into creation (which just so happens to contain the hungry hungry humans who will / already have eaten their way to retroactive godhood). The Serpent is less a manifestation of Chaos than alternate Order based on such alien principles as to be incomprehensible to us. What if something other than humanity dominates all and so cemented itself as the foundation of all? The Serpent is both "scaly-nasty-water-thing" of visceral revulsion and the interlinking chains of impartial cause and effect which drag our worldview away from naïve anthropocentrism and into a nihilistic wasteland where people are nothing special (or worse yet throughput for whatever else IS).The Striker on the other hand is "fertile" disorder. Their tool-weapon is both the Ur-flint, an aching wisdom tooth knocked loose by stone (as well as that percussive surgical instrument) and an idea itself extracted from the skull in pursuit of peace and quiet. Peals of thunder are as much swearing at having dropped something on his foot as vast oaks or fearsome foes falling before his wrath. Most of the "firsts" he's responsible for are accidents refined by others but the very fact he has no clue what he's up to is what makes him a wellspring of creation and especially anathema to those creations which limit alternative creativity.
>>97784855Anyone focus on glass as an important industry in their setting?Pretty sure for a lot of the west and Italy and Venice in particular, Glassmaking was an important and highly exported product. Often being highly covetted in places like China in a way that Fine china ceramics were coveted in Europe.I always thought that it might be interesting to make a european inspired place the "foreign and exotic location where you get luxery goods" If you are in a non european inspired place like if it is more Arabian, Southeast Asian, or Japanese. Think I got the idea in part when I was playing Scarlet Heros which has some more southeast asian derived settings. If you want to go for something more magical maybe stained glass windows and fine crystal wineglasses that vibrate and hum with magic but will shatter if the magic is not kept in check could be a cool idea. Or maybe you are a glass blower that literally blows in the breath of life to animate glass objects. Glass has a lot of interesting potentials.

>>97834693>>97834933I think it's one of those things where the best explanation is entirely lore elements. Divergent needs drive divergent development. Dwindling tech base and limited production capacity meant conservatism in design for the IS that focused on the robustness of integrated hardpoints and the versatility of hand actuators as both substitute heavy equipment and an attachment point for external weaponry. Meanwhile since the Clans prioritized military development and combat readiness above everything else omnipods took over as they meant combat effectiveness of units could be maintained quickly though what are essentially plug and play components. Omnis never really took off in the IS because, unlike the Clans where standardization could be enforced from the top down per Clan, the sheer number of private manufacturers operating in the IS plus the number of polities meant that omnipod compatibility is a massive problem. And for BA, Clan institutional knowledge is frequently downwind of technological possession due to the Trial system so you get extended periods of copying gained tech until you understand enough to begin new development, netting you a general uniformity because everyone is cribbing off the same homework. Since the IS has a wide variety of industrial and technological capability the copied designs are immediately reshaped by practical realities of construction. Clan scientists look at Elemental armor and go, "jump jets, missiles, laser, claw, anti-personnel gun, we can do that" so they immediately start building Elemental armor; IS scientists look at Elemental armor and go "we can do the jump jets and the missiles, the jump jets, laser, claw, and antipersonnel gun, the laser, claw, missiles and antipersonnel gun, the laser, missiles, and add another laser, and Oops, All Jump Jets."

I'll never understand why people thought it was unrealistic for Mai to be corrupted by the power of the Orichalchos and I chalk it down to the fanbase (gooners) grossly not understanding how much of an aggressively sub optimum duelist Mai actually is since if you look at her character objectively, Mai only wins duels against duelists worse then her (Rex). Also, Mai's personality is all over the place. I can even prove it. In Duelist Kingdom, Mai has zero optimism at Yugi's chances for beating Weevil until he outsmarts Weevil and Mai starts coping with this stating how it was "luck" so to prove her "theory" correct she demands an immediate duel with Joey that she loses which she also claims was caused by Luck. She then manipulates Rex later in the afternoon to duel Joey which Joey wins again according to her "thru luck" but then tries to act like she's part of the squad because she has access to food and water but still feels the need to belittle them. Even when Yugi won her starchips back she is still in the belief she's a better duelist then Yugi until Yugi brute forces thru her misplay and then surrenders near the end of the duel because she feels like she doesnt have the motivation to muscle thru whats left of the duel. Battle City happens and you can just tell she is only in this tournament as an excuse to show off "her growth" only to demonstrate what we've already known which is Mai is only good against duelists with zero actual plot importance. She enters one Shadow game and this shit literally makes her never wanna touch this game again. Like no one calls into question the emotional and psychological damage a shadow game does to a person and how Joey and Yugi are used to this but Mai feels angered she just "has to be" use to this when medically she was announced dead for most of the tournamentSo yes, I do believe a dumb bitch like Mai immediately jumped on Dartz dick and joined his crew because she's mad she wants to be a better duelist but cant.

>>97835135I mean that's kinda something they were already getting at in SC1 and Brood War. The Conclave had failed and was a broken ruin, the Overmind could only be beaten with the power of the Nerazim, and those same Nerazim were the ones who ended up saving the Protoss as they fled from Aiur. The whole point was that the current ways of the Protoss weren't working and needed to change.
>>97835164I know that, I just feel that the change was achieved way too easily.
>>97835185Because Artanis is the Executor - YOU - from SC1. Of course he gets shit done.
>>97835185It sorta just happens between games since that's where BW leaves the Protoss at. Their society has essentially collapsed twice over, first with the Conclave being destroyed on Aiur then with Raszagal being killed in Brood War. Hell one of the Zerg missions in BW has you more or less blow up the biggest city on Shakuras. The Protoss basically didn't HAVE anywhere else to progress. Artanis was their only big leader left, with Selendis being his only significant lieutenant if we consider her as the BW Executor.Protoss kinda got written into a hole by getting slammed hard in their SC campaign and then being the first campaign in BW, letting the Terran and Zerg campaigns walk over them.
