Turn 1: Fizzclicks Skyre.

I managed to sneak the 5 gutter runners into his backline and I won the first turn. The ambush was about to unfold:

I marched the 25 giant rats( 18 inches ) through the fields, coming to a stop behind a stone fence and even better within line of sight of the rat ogres.

The rest of the skaven moved up cautiously, although the doomwheel failed to properly motivate its rats as many scurried into the wheat field- only moving “4”.
The 5 gutter runners threw aside their disguise however- marching right next to the grey seer who thought himself safe they threw 10 throwing stars- 8 hits, 6 poison. - warp stars indeed.
The grey seer passed his armour save on one of the normal hits, but all 6 poisoned stars wounded on 3+ -and he failed all his saves. The assassins had certainly earnt their warptokens.

Otherwhise jezzail fire and a well timed magical movement meant the rattling gun was in range to shoot at the hellpit- however it regenerated most of its wounds- only taking 1.

Turn 1 on the grey seers side went as following/ the rat ogres charged the giant rats, who due to the fence they were hiding behind(non base to base) only had 1 attack each - they killed 1, lost the combat and fled, with the giant rats chasing after them.

Turn 2: Fizzclick

The giant rats declared a charge on the fleeing stormvermin, who fled off the board, the gutter runners failing a March test(I forgot if skirmishers were exempt from testing, so tested and failed) so threw some warpstars at the rattling gun, doing 1 wound.
Meanwhile the doomwheel in the field, having lost most of its rats went another 4, much to my chuckling.
Jezzails did one wound to the hellpit.
Fizzclick however did a lot, he ate a Warpstone token- which let the doomwheel move again- past the hellpit a flank and then skitterleaped up the field, and unleashed a fireball from his ruby ring- sending the plague priest to meet his maker.
Doomwheel started blasting, misfired once and did a wound to the hellpit!

Meanwhile the 10 giant rats postured in front of him, ready to intercept.

Turn 2: leaderless skaven:
The rat swarms hit the 10 giant rats, and got stuck in combat for the rest of the game.
Hellpit postured for a big charge: and went 3 for its troubles(there’s something about this bloody wheat field)

Turn 3: Fizzclick
No charges, doomwheel zooms up near the clanrat block- my clanrats move one away from the hellpit, quite content to not charge.
Giant rats 25 postured about.
In the shooting faze: the doomwheel hurts itself once more but kills 7 or 8 clanrats with 2 successive s10 direct hit zzappsss
The rattling gun dies to warpstars
And everything else aims at the hellpit, bringing it down to a single wound.

Turn 3 betrayers: hellpit slams into the clanrats block,
Betrayers clanrats prepare to charge the doomwheel.

Shooting: doomwheel goes out with a bang, zzaps the clanrats a little.

Hellpit vs my clanrats: one chieftan with a halberd is pushed to the front thanks to higher initiative, alone before the hellpit- he swings, he wounds hellpit topples backwards and a rats swarms out directly ontop of the engineer “3” away. (Couldn’t see anything preventing the too horrible to die rat swarm
From landing in combat) so we laughed and imagined the rats poured onto Fizzclick: Fizzclick dies for his troubles.

I would assume there is a companion function where you can highlight a target and give orders, for infantry you've recruited that could be 'occupy building'
So there would be options to do that, but where's the fun? I guess what I imagine would focus on a smaller lance size mercenary unit or a bounty hunter team where the characters have in and out of mech skills

After playing both the original Shandalar and the 2016 update version I've come to the conclusion that magic was just more fun in 1995 when it was more loose and relaxed. The kinds of decks you go up against in the 2016 version are so much more ruthless about shutting down every play you make that the only way to compete is to be an even more obnoxious dickhead and make sure they never get a chance to do anything. Every victory was bitter and spiteful in a way that I never felt with the older simpler Magic cards.

>Take any of those overpowered/undercosted one-drops and just throw him in a deck with a heap of commons and uncommons
But nowadays, most of the commons and uncommons would completely destroy old decks.
Powercreep isn't "they made one really strong card", because as said before, strong cards always existed.
Powercreep is increasing the baseline for what an "average" card is, making everything just stronger than before.
And even without that, you still have cards like ocelot pride, minsk&boo, adeline, initiative and the likes, who can just win games on their own without needing anything else in the deck

What can I say, I've watched a couple of page throughs and character creation videos on YT and i really like the vibes of these old FFG games. I wanted to gift myself something nice.
I played a couple of sessions of WFRP 2e during Covid and from what I've seen (and the anon above kinda confirmed it) the rules are at least a little bit similar, I'm quite excited to give it a try
>>
>>97413696
Yeah WFRP has always shared similar rules and such, it sounds like you'll pull it off. Make sure to get players involved in ship creation and such, more fun for everyone.
>>
Does Imperium Maledictum suffer if you make the patron yourself instead of the player collaboration thing?
>>
>>97414096
No? Why would it, our GM has mostly been making them himself. We had input a couple times - first time we played and then when it was an NPC the party knew. Other than that he'll do it and then either share all the details with us, or sometimes has fun keeping them secret and we have to find out what liabilities and such come from our new boss.
>>
>>97414233
Seems like they're making a big deal, putting it in the first chapter of the book so I wanted to make sure what I'm getting into.

>Unban all cards except Conspiracy, Ante (fuck you CFB guy), Chaos Orb, Falling Star, and Shahrazad
B2 and B3 already limit how many shitball unfun cards you can run. B4 and bracketless players can continue coping about how self-regulation totally always works. cEDH as a format has no rights.
>Lutri GC as companion, unrestricted otherwise
See above.
>Decks now have a 7-card wishboard that includes the companion (if used)
Wishes make reactive play better, something sorely needed in Commander where so much of the game has become centralized on near-totally ignoring your opponents and hoping you just win faster than them.
>Hybrid mana now works as "either" in the 99
Hybrid cards suck major balls you may as well give them this one thing when the best options are shit like Ashiok, Dream Render. More decks can run Guttural Response and Vexing Shusher this way, so you can bring it up every time Timmy bitches about counterspells.
>Twobrid mana now does not contribute towards color identity in the 99
2 mana is harder to make than 1 mana. Even with the number of cards that provide 2 colorless mana and ways to generate off-color mana, using them very quickly becomes unwieldy even if they theoretically offer an effect your colors can't access (as we've seen from colorless design, nothing is truly "off-limits" to a color as long as it's overcosted enough, see Scour From Existence).
>Color indicators do not contribute to a card's color identity in the 99
Color indicators do not represent an actual cost on the card. As a result they should be decoupled from color identity because they do not correlate with the effects a color has access to without being supported elsewhere on the card that's already covered by color identity (e.g. the cost in Pact of Negation).
>Devoid now removes color identity from a card in all zones (including CZ)
I don't have a good reason for this especially since it runs counterintuitive to the above change. I just think it would be funny.

I've formatted the documented so that the rules are presented with bullet points instead of traditional paragraphs. I think its a bit more readable and easier to skim for specific rulings, but it also takes up a lot of space, so the rules are probably even shorter than 30 pages. the document is 50ish pages total but a lot of that is weapons, zombie types, etc.

Anyways I'll do a bit more editing and formatting and just throw it out here at some point.

As a Heroscape player, not only does the terrain matter, I have to build it every match. This however, isn't a problem, because a good Heroscape player knows that map building is part of the game and should enjoy it as much as the rest!

Anybody ever mixed stargrave 28mm minis with the previous cadians?
I want to mix some of the stargrave scavenger rifle holding arms with cadian torsos to make necromunda ex-imperial guard hangers.
Are the arms able to have a flush fit on cadian torsos? Not the current cadian torsos the ones before them.
I managed to not be able to find pics of such conversions when I searched online.

So, how was it? Did it ever get off the ground?

Well it has good stress rules and is nice for survival focused games too. Deadly combat means just fast combat to me. Either side is defeated quick on good hits. If you fluff that as gruesome death or as a catgirl getting to high on catnip is up for interpretation.
>>
>>97411567
Actually, reading the SRD, you might be onto something. If I change the stress into something more comical (like the stress explosions in MAID), then this does work.
I can work with this.
>>
>>97411583
Oh, stress explosion mechanics for the game sound interesting! Yeah, focus on that.
>>
>>97411949
Yeah I was thinking, instead of having Health and Resolve, maybe there is just Stress. The stress adds dice, and it accumulates. When you roll a bane on the stress dice, you explode.
This basically means you are "broken" and while you can't do anything in terms of taking actions or rolling skill checks, you can still role play your stress explosion.
idk, might be too ridiculous. Since you basically get stress endlessly, situations where players have infinite dice and never roll any banes could theoretically happen... but it just sounds really really funny.

It's gonna take a while before I can finish the whole book (at least a week I think) but I can at least bump the thread with a preview cover

Flames of War somehow hilariously manages to shoot itself in the foot nonstop but still keeps trucking along.

They are purely held up by Flames of War being 1 of the 2 WW2 miniature game that sells rules and miniatures but unlike bolt action their shit is smaller scale so you can take more stuff like tanks and people like that and Team Yankee being the only Cold War era game I have seen sell rules and miniatures ironic given that the entire range is out of stock permanently yet they keep making spin off games that nobody buys (seriously has anyone ever played the Israeli wars/Vietnam/WW1 games they made?). If they had any real competition that wasn't some british boomer selling his WW2 rulebook with a bunch of really ultra specific rules that bog down the game from a website straight out of 2002 with no miniatures sold to boot or without Warlord games also shooting themselves in the foot nonstop the company would have gone under during covid or during the FOW V4 fiasco.

Was there actually any creative vision or was it just an autist throwing popular concepts at a wall to see what stuck.
