Daily Fallout show thread where we discuss the thousands of retcons and plot holes of this godawful show. I'll begin.>the Strip is infested by deathclaw alphas>humans 20m away on the other side of a flimsy chain-link fence non-chalantly go about their business>deathclaws don't bust through, climb over, or go around to kill everyone in freeside>no group of humans anywhere around Vegas gathered firepower and retook the strip to claim the intact casinos/buildings instantly becoming a powerful factionImagine you're a leader of a powerful gang or merc company. You know the casinos on the strip are empty ready to be taken over if the deathclaws are eliminated or led away - yet you do nothing and ignore the area completely. The opportunity would be too juicy to pass up. Sure, many groups might fail, but eventually those 'Claws would be gunned down, trapped, or led out of the area in the race to retake the strip and becoming medieval lords.
>>217455345>They're either evil, retarded, or both. Nothing else matters.Yeah, this is the biggest problem. How the fuck am I supposed to give a shit about what happens in the story when EVERYONE our main characters interact with is a complete retard and usually also a piece of shit. Hell, even the main characters are retards.
>>217455488Generally the idea is that video game loading screens often abstract distance traveled. The strip is a rough one because in game you can clearly see that it is right on the other side of the gate we use in freeside. Lucy and the ghoul explicitly state that they will not be traveling through freeside on their way to the strip so it must be assumed that the gate we see with the destroyed securitrons and the kings is not the same gate in the game where we first enter the strip. A game map covering the area NV does is not a 1-1 representation
>>217448285>someone's personal prediction was wrong therefore the timeline is inconsistentgod you're stupid, also Anchorage started in 2066 you fucking retard
>>217455410>Huh? Why would the institute want spies and influence in society? Is that what you're asking?Yes.Spies and influence are only useful if you actually gain something from the knowledge and the influence. The only thing that The Institute has gained from sending out its synth spies is that now everyone knows The Institute is sending out synth spies that kill and replace random people. Their synth spies have directly lead to their discovery and increased the chance that The Institute will be attacked and destroyed. They have not achieved anything useful from doing so.If they were so sure of sending out synth spies, it would have made significantly more sense to just send out synths who WEREN'T replacing people's loved ones. "Hi I'm Bob I'm from DC and it's a hellhole, I spent everything I had making it here since I heard it was such much safer, does anyone in town need any work done? I'm pretty much a jack-of-all-trades" would work so much better than "HI HONEY I AM YOUR HUSBAND AND I AM ACTING VERY DIFFERENTLY DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT"It still doesn't answer WHY the institute bothers to send out spies to random settlements either. Diamond City at least makes a tiny bit of sense as the biggest settlement in the area - but why the fucking random towns? What knowledge do they hope to gain from them?Nobody sends spies to infiltrate random tribes living in stick huts in rural third world countries for a reason - there's no fucking benefit to it. That's the equivalent of what The Institute is doing.
>>217455634Couldn't have said it any better. I don't care about the fate of the wasteland because there's no one to care about. There's no scale or mythos either. A few threads ago another anon talked about how the show is simultaneously more nihilistic than Fallout ever was because it's all so unbelievably fucked, but then it has the writing of Scott Pilgrim, so it feels like the cartoon version of The Road

>>217454884That's okay, I get that it isn't for everyone. For me it's hard to explain what makes it "click". It feels almost random yet at the same time everything seems like it's supposed to be there. Lynch explained that he finds intuition important when watching films so I think it's just a different approach to cinema, it gets at something subconscious.

At this point you just have to pull some kind of schlocky Kelvin “timeline split” going forward and Paramount just has to pretend the last 5 years never happened and exists in its own canon
>>217455308>>217455344ACK is funnier becuase it captures the horror of watching it. Like "ACK! This is terrible," or "ACK! Why female Fem'hadar," or "ACK! Why the first full frontal nude scene in Trek history with Tig Nartutu and the blob woman."SA isn't effective. Too vague. ACA is already a popular abbreviation for the Affordable Care Act so its taken.ACK it is. The fact that some don't like it being called ACK suggests that its the proper thing to call this monstrosity and the shills are mad about it.

The humanities are only encouraged in the upper class of society because they will get into a livable wage regardless of what they do. A working class person must enter academia or accept they wasted all that time on something that doesn't pertain to their employment.

>>217455231This is the short of show they needed to have brought out when either GOT was still airing, or with HOTD having more seasons (and really episodes) and said seasons annually releasing. It needs the wider hype that is brought by a flagship show, yet they are sort of leaning on it as if it was a flagship show. It is both a reflection of how badly the wider franchise has been handled and more broadly how shit they are at even producing TV shows. HOTD S1 was 10 episodes and released in 2022, S2 was 8 episodes and released in 2024, S3 is to be 8 episodes and is only going to be released this year. There is no real reason beyond just rank and file incompetence that they cannot annually release these shows with 10-12 episodes per year. Even if HOTD S2 was better received it suffered from the gap between S1, and S3 is also going to suffer from the lack of momentum with the gap since S2.

>>217450754Both of these women literally tried to be actors but it didn't take once they aged out of disney channel roles. A lot of young starlets try to do both acting and music and just stick with whatever one gets them more success. Cailee Spaeny tried both singing and acting and dropped singing as soon as she got a foothold in acting. Brie Larson tried to do both as well and stuck with the one that panned out.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UocXSyTpKY
