I am tired of people acting like this piece of shit is worth playing. Maybe if you speak Japanese you can find something worth it.

You act like the grey one can't become shit brown. If you're that concerned about it your only choice is black, or hey, just buy a white/grey you know for a fact isn't yellowed. My white one isn't

I didn't realize that could happen to grey ones too. I guess I'd get a custom case then.

Yeah, it's decently long. Took me 18 hours to go through on Normal, although I spent a long while trying to get to grips with the controls but once they clicked it was great.

Honestly one of the best games I've ever played, OP might be shitposting but it's similar to Super Metroid but in 3D.

Why don't companies release / finish old cancelled games more often?

I absolutely understand that it's much easier said than done, along with the original developers having likely moved on, but there are so many promising games that were essentially done, but were victims of circumstance.
I just find it weird that we have retro-inspired indies becoming mainstream, endless feux-retro nostalgia merchandising, HD Collections, yet we rarely see many true post-lifetime releases.

read this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honne_and_tatemae

Unfinished projects have very complicated relationships for these companies, and might involve contacting old developers to understand how to finish the work. If the developer left under acrimonious terms (more common in Japan than you think) then the people in charge at the company will be very reluctant to get back in contact with them and ask them for a favor. But on the other hand if the *don't* do this it could also be considered somewhat dishonorable. So it's a matter that is best just to be avoided and forgotten.
>>
>>12255957
Back in the day you didn't have digital releases so there would be significant upfront costs in manufacturing the games, shipping them to stores and you also needed a marketing budget. On top of that, the market was smaller and there was only room for so many games in any release schedule.
>>
>>12255631
Not enough Assembly programmers for hire in this day and age.
>>
>>12255957
>It's pretty surprising though that they released the english Mother and Starfox 2 at all
Those two were 100% complete so it required ZERO effort to release. If they were only 99% done Nintendo wouldn't have bothered.
>>
>>12255970
Yeah but im talking now/the past 20 or so years. Splatterworld was apparently in Namco's possession this entire time complete, they could have thrown it into any Namco Museum or eShop type service whenever they wanted too and now they lose out on easy money with it being leaked for free.

Though technically released, it was cool that the one Tetris Sega Ages release in ps2 included the Mega Drive version of the game. We need more of that. On the other hand, Nintendo had multiple opportunities to re release Nintendo World Championship 1990, but i guess paying for the rights for Rad Racer and their version of Tetris is too pricey for them, so they rather keep parading around the NWC brand without ever releasing the actual game everyone knows it for.

Annoying.
If you dont kill enemies fast enough they turn purple and become damage sponges.
But Vergil is impossible on DMD. Never finished because of him.
You also need a lot of health or revival stones for the boss rush.
DMD on DMC is very manageable.
>>
>>12254851
IIRC enemies also go DT in DMC3 when you kill other enemies near them so using the devil trigger explosion mechanic lets you kill multiple at a time or severely weaken them before they enter DT so they have low HP% and the increased mitigation and hitstun immunity from DT doesn't matter much since you're taking most or all of them out very quickly afterwards.
>>
One thing other people didn't say yet - some enemies change tactics. Do you remember the Enigmas, those white statues that fire a blue lance and sometimes a red one? Well, on DMD they will skid along the ground like they're on fire, and they'll always fire a ton of lances at once, usually with a red one right at the end.

no mascots mean they didn't have shit. Sony didn't have any meaningful ones either (crash and Spyro aren't even close to Mario & Sonic) but they were a lot of people first disc based game system and a lot of peoples first DVD players in their entire house

Atari's shitty consoles could barely make squares and shit on screen. the 5400 couldn't even fill in the squares in Qix in real time it was such a piece of shit. their computers were shittier versions of what was around like the Commodore 64

by the time consoles and actual home computing matter which was the 90s, they were already riding on their pac man galaga bullshit they everybody plays for 3 minutes and quits. they never developed anything worth playing for more than 3 minutes

I don't think I'll get over the fact that Shiggy and Will Wright not only met in their prime, but that the former immediately thought "yeah we need to turn this guy into a goofy chibi dwarf with green hair", that Will was 100% OK with it, and that this character still technically lives on as a fucking Smash assist trophy. Are there any benefits of using an old computer box to play retro PC games or am I just better off using a modern one?
My current box is a Dell. It has a motherboard inside, with a processor from Intel, as well as memory, a north bridge chipset, a south bridge chipset, a battery, BIOS ROM chip, pin jumpers, DIP switches, PCI slots, a GPU graphics card board, a sound board from a company called Sound Blaster, a CD-ROM for playing DOS-Roms, a heat sink, 2 fans as far as I can see, a floppy disk drive, a power supply unit, a PATA IDE SSD disk drive, LED lights on the front BUS driver, and a power button.
