Sorry for the DP.I looked it up, and found out that it's a comic strip about a Mexican family in America. Pretty much all the Discovery Kids shows were either only on in shitty timeslots or completely removed when the channel became The Hub, with the only ones staying on in good timeslots being Tutenstein, Endurance, Strange Days at Blake Holsey High, and Truth or ScarePlus, The Hub felt more like a boys network. I mean, Men in Black reruns? Batman Beyond reruns? Transformers Prime? G.I. Joe Renegades? Dan Vs.? Those were very boy targeted. Discovery Kids on the other hand, felt a lot more gender neutral and many of the shows on Discovery Kids even had female or co-female lead (Darcy's Wild Life, Scouts Safari, Truth or Scare, Tutenstein, Kenny the Shark, Growing Up Creepie, Grossology, The Future is Wild, Magic School Bus reruns, and Strange Days at Blake Holsey High to name a few). Pretty much all the shows on The Hub felt aimed at the male demographic

Where did this trope of characters explaining their own flaws and character arcs come from?I absolutely hate it. Not only is it completely unnatural, no one speaks like this, it undermines the characters by making them seemingly self aware of their flaws the whole time yet doing different.Worst of all is it's literally just the writer jacking themselves off to the audience about the characters they've written and their own writing. Every single time it's shit and feels like ass, but I'm only seeing more of it. Why can't writing speak for itself? If you have to explain your emotional depth maybe you did a shit job of actually conveying it.
