Larry Hama has had a long career, written many good comic books, and had some amazing runs. This isn't one of them.

Time to get your palms real hairy...
... because it's time we introduced the top choice for monsterfuckers: ORCA!
Aaaand that's it for Hama - he was kicked off the book due to poor sales. And I'd like to make something very clear: Larry Hama was (and stilll is) a well-respected comic book creator, so for somebody of his standing to screw the pooch this badly was almost unheard of.Granted, this was just an embarrassing blip in his career and he soon went on to reclaim the goodwill he'd lost with this run, but still...Anyway, time for more Pain!>>144668149
>>144667360Thanks mini
thank you
ok
>>144667360>>144668161I got way more of a problem with the amateurish art than the story.
>>144667403I mean, he's right
>>144667850I'm amazed that despite how well Hama writes villains in GI Joe, he didn't give us a version of Cobra Commander or Serpentor or Zartan for Batman to fight. Instead he gave us a boring sharkwoman. And yet somehow she stuck. So many other writers have used her since then, it must have stuck a chord with a lot of people. Why?
>>144667850Mai whale waifu who can create mutating serums but can't plan a crime to save her life. Thanks Mini!>>144672959To be fair, it wasn't until her reemergence and re-characterized appearance in Rebirth where she really struck a chord with people. Her origin story is basically the Lizard + aspiring Robinhood, without any of the baggage that came from her poor choices and planning in her initial outing. Other writers had fun with her, and made her an interesting character to follow. But that's just some random anon's opinion.
>>144672959I think she's... fine, I guess. She's pretty much a Robin Hood kind of character with a really cool design, but there's nothing about her that makes me to see more of her. I wonder what other writers have done with her since then.
>>144673065>>144673094The only thing I can think of about her offhand is her romance with Killer Croc. (King Shark must be jealous.)But I have noticed she randomly appears in a lot of places, including the Lego Batman movie.
