What the title says. I've been fapping to stories set in the near future involving sexbots for years, and yet it feels like they're just as far away now as they were decades ago. I know life sized realistic sex dolls exist, and I can't go 30 seconds without hearing about how far long AI chatbots have come. So when the FUCK am I getting my life sized, fully autonomous, self cleaning sex robot? What's the hold up? It's [current year]. I was promised robot paradise years ago, and I want to fuck the robots

>>107882829>I never said I DON'T want the source code, I'm saying I don't want to compile everything. I don't have the smarts to do that. I have no idea how any of that shit works. I respect the concept of putting the source code out there regardless.Okay that's fair. If you want a serious answer then the reason is that making executables that will run everywhere can be a decent amount of effort. Open source devs disproportionately run linux, so making a windows exe can be unfamiliar or annoying, and every linux distro is different so even making a universal linux app is not always easy. If you compile it yourself on a decent OS (like most, but not all, linux distros) it can usually "just work" out of the box so it saves a ton of effort for the developer in return for relatively minimal effort from the average linux user. Or in fact any software that's somewhat widely used will be packaged into a distro's packages and then users can install it without ever needing to download from github or build it themselves. So it's really just windows users who are left wanting for an exe because windows doesn't come with a package manager so you're expected to install everything yourself. But most devs on github not being windows users means they usually can't be bothered to figure out how to build for windows, and that's even if their software is compatible with windows at all.Consider using a windows package manager, I forgot what the good one is called though. There was chocolatey at one point but nowadays there's a better one I think
>>107883234Does it register as a joystick on your PC in the first place? Or as some kind of other input device? Can you rebind the keys/controls in RPGmaker? If the controller is recognised as SOME input, and RPGmaker has configurable binds, try rebinding it.If RPGmaker binds either aren't configurable or can't be set to your controller, you can use something in the middle to rebind the controller's input into the keys RPGmaker expects. First thing that comes to mind is autohotkey but there might be more specialised controller software. If the controller is not registering as an input device at all on your PC then that's more annoying. In that case I don't really have any specific advice other than "drivers". Maybe try googling your controller model to see if other people have had issue with using it on PC.
>>107881513I had a (non-Samsung) SSD that did something like that, the PC would slow down, the drive would disappear, then reappear after a reboot or two. Pulled it out and forgot about it. But later I put it in a new PC and it has worked for several years now with no issues. I figured it was some obscure compatibility issue. If I were to try and figure out what the problem was I'd first try it with a different OS, some Linux on a USB stick, to see if it also breaks there.
>>107883545It first showed up in the "Mouse, Keyboard, and Pen" section but some blind faffing about had me remove it. Resyncing it moved it to the "Other Devices" section instead. This is a bluetooth controller and I know it mentioned installing some sort of driver when I got it to connect the first time. Hell, Windows 10 outright recognized it as an SNES controller! I got it to work on SNES9x (not the nightly version as I suck at "building") with some small effort (either that emulator requires BetterJoy or I'm an even bigger idiot) but for some God forsaken reason, the RPGmaker game in question only responds to the Y and A buttons, which only open up the menu. Odder still, the d-pad only works in those menus. The character cannot be moved at all. Bring this up elsewhere suggested I use Steam to force bind it or something. It involves hooking up the .exe to Steam as an external game, which I'm hesitant to do. The Switch Pro Controller is another option but getting that to connect a few years back wasn't fun. Joy2key is my last resort but I found it clunky even in the best of circumstances so I hope there's an easier solution.
