The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 (Pub. L. 113–12 (text) (PDF); H.R. 258) is a United States federal law that was passed by the 113th United States Congress. The law amends the federal criminal code to make it a crime for a person to fraudulently claim to have received a valor award specified in the Act, with the intention of obtaining money, property, or other tangible benefit by convincing another that they received the award.

i learned about it recently and it seems quite cool, but i don't even know if i would need it. i'm not a researcher or a writer, i just have a very overactive internal monologue (sometimes i can kinda space out and live in my head) and i want to be able to form a personal "knowledge base" to organize my interests/values/things ive learned/even just things i need to do. what do you use it for? or is it just one of those things where people use it for a week and then forget about it forever?
>>107801238>is it just one of those things where people use it for a week and then forget about it forever?Probably, but that's true of most habit changes and self-improvement projects. That's how people are.>i want to be able to form a personal "knowledge base" to organize my interests/values/things ive learned/even just things i need to do.My advice is to start with simple tools (like a physical notebook or plain-text files). If those notes become a big part of your life after a few months, think about converting to a more sophisticated tool.

I'm on linux mint xfce, and I have an older laptop with integrated graphics and a 1050ti. I swear I've prime selected, reinstalled drivers, checked vulkan over and over again but no matter what, even when the damn thing says the nvidia driver is on demand, it always defaults to CPU rendering when launching games. And for a further point, it takes forever to boot said game before it instantly crashes. Im not exactly sure what to do, i think ive done it so many times that the drivers are corrupted

>>107795087>>107809965https://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/You can play tones with this tone generator, you will hear some frequencies are clearly louder than others and some you can't hear at all, some you can't hear because you're human, some you can't hear because of aging or genetics, some are fucked up because of the room you're in, some are fucked up because your speaker/headphone drivers suck. But you'll understand that the frequencies aren't playing at an equal loudness. Microphones can also have this problem where they don't record all frequencies at equal loudness.
>>107789025>wirelessShan't be buying.
How risky is it to buy used dac/amps? This looks like a really good deal, would jds honor a warranty if I buy it used or am I taking my chances?
>>107807515>it doesn't really get solved until you get a decent all around planar like the aeon,TRVKE>>107795087It is quite literally one of the most important characteristics of a headphone next to distortion. It's how the headphone sounds. If the frequency response is bad, the headphone will sound bad. Now, you can fix it with EQ, but only if you're not limited by distortion. And if there's a deep notch in the frequency response(like the pre-2021 LCD-X used to have before they fixed it) then even with EQ it might be difficult because applying a peak filter with a value of >15dB to fix one notch is a little difficult. If a reviewer doesn't post the frequency response then that "reviewer" is basically worthless. Subjective impressions from listening don't matter that much due to HRTF - meaning everyone hears things differently. What someone percieves as too much treble might be not enough treble for you. This is due to the shape of our ears and ear canals. So a review without the frequency response means nothing since despite the reviewer saying some headphones sound "warm", they might actually be bright to you. FR in a review is the bare minimum to be credible, even better if they post THD, group delay, cumulative spectral decay or step response. You don't see any of these in most reviews because audiophiles are retarded and would rather believe in changing the sound via gold plated cables of different DAC chips, among other things.>>107810283>How risky is it to buy used dac/amps?If the seller has good reviews then it's probably fine. Really hard to break one intentionally and if the seller has decent reviews it's probably not a dead unit.>would jds honor a warranty if I buy it usedDoubtful they would. Maybe if the guy still has the original receipt/invoice from when he bought them. But even then they might not.
>>107810419>even better if they post THD, group delay, cumulative spectral decay or step response.HD is decent if relevant (big if), the rest is useless.
