I run Mint on a X390 Yoga and XFCE is fine as long as you have an auto rotate script configured. Cinnamon has support right out of the box and I assume MATE does as well, but I care more about battery life so I quickly swapped over to XFCE and haven't touched either in a while. Pressure sensitivity works without configuring anything as well, but you better like Krita or other drawing programs that are Linux native because Wine still is unable to translate pressure sensitivity when using it for Windows programs.
