well you'll have to ask the official Tor project guys why they discourage people form using it to torrent then
>>
>>107533234
their main issue is the risk of users being able to be deanonymized by shit clients and misconfigurations, then bandwidth concerns. tor project have bigger problems to deal with, such as trying to keep ahead with the software to prevent further denial of service attacks to try and cripple the network and targeting directory authorities

Are we really at the point where shills are despertate enough to lie just to make these daily anti Linux threads? You're just being dishonest for the sake of shitposting. Let's say someone refutes all of your points, then what? Would you apologize and delete the thread? Admit you were wrong? Of couse not, you would either claim it's a lie, move the goalpoast or ignore it, so why should anyone bother? Not a single Linuxfag has ever said Linux is perfect, quite the opposite, but Winfags will always be posting "it just works" ad nauseum (even if it doesn't). For your average Joe or Timmy, Linux is more than enough. So if you are one of these and want to use a computer to play Minecraft, send emails and watch videos, which OS would you rather choose? The one filled to the brim with spyware and bloat, or the decent enough one that does not? According to you they should use the former because GIMP is shit therefore the entire OS is bad. Please, seek a cliff.
>>
>>107527677
Every one of your problems comes down to a few things you fundamentally don't get.

First, in linux, if something can impact other users (setting date/time, upgrading system-level software), you have to be root to do it. I get that if you're coming from windows, you expect to be able to run the latest ransomware you downloaded from a facebook ad without interruption, but we don't do that here.

Second, you can install whatever software you want in directories you own. If you can build from source, or un-tar a raw release, you can put it anywhere you want, without being root
>"but then I have to-"
Skill issue. If you either can't or don't want to learn how the magic box you sit in front of for 8+ hours a days work, then go back to the padded playpen of the package manager and distro-mandated versions.
>>
>>107527677
Finally, Here's a few other highlights of your retardation.

>Forced updates
Every package manager lets you pin specific versions of a package. Skill issue.

>Program may be removed from repos at any time
Not like those programs made by corporations that remove the free version to force you into paying a monthly subscription. Those never get removed
>But I can keep a copy on my flash drive!
You realize that the package repos aren't one thing, they aren't a single server owned by the sith lord, Linus Torvalds himself, right? There's literal *thousands* of mirror servers, hosted by other companies, universities, usergroups, and even individuals, all mirroring that data. Even if ubuntu went full troontard tomorrow and removed your favorite package because the developer farted in a way they perceived as a microagression, the bumfuck-nowhere-U probably still has a copy.

>Only one instance of each program per user
Wrong. What the fuck are you even talking about?

>There is no per program permission system.

>but the other systems remive packges too
Yeah I know, which is why I marked it as "?" bceause android ans windows too have this issue
>One instance WROOONNNNGGG (even tho I don't understand what you mean)
lmfao, you retraded nigger. On android, a user can "duplicate" an app. It's practically Firefox's profiles, but for any program. This allows you to have multiple isolated instances of the signal messenger as an example, with each one logged in with a different account/phone number
>selinux, apparmor
Need to be carefully configured and aren't applied to newly installed programs by default.
>flatpak uhhh no go use the cloud
How retarded are you. Have you ever used that shit? Try to install kate from a flatpak and report back how much space it takes vs a normal (repo) installation
>just download the tarball and compile it

Brick walls are only strong under proper vertical load, the wall at the top of the building is weaker at the top than bottom, if you lay bricks randomly, now you cannot even load it because it will collapse because of shear forces, so it's weak everywhere if you even get to the point where it looks like a house

Look at the work by Whitney Webb.

IMO, people are insanely stupid and will accept (they don’t have a choice because it’s up to congress) whatever shit gets pushed down our throats by u.s. intelligence after a major internet/financial false flag. Add in the fact that fields like chemistry, biotechnology, physics, engineering are continuing to rapidly advance, if someone can play with $5,000 in their garage and build stuff capable of killing at mass scale because of new tech, the only choice is a total surveillance state. Very dark times ahead mostly because of rapidly advancing technology.

That's why we must amplify the anti-AI movement.
Part of "owning nothing" is due to a structural crash and outages of semiconductors that will drive any other commodities price to the moon.
Identification is needed to track risks of rebellion and misuse of computational power. Inequality rise and the tech sector being sacralized will lead to social unrest. (((They))) just use our fears to justify the ludicrous means of surveillance, but in fact they just implement solutions over the issues they have created themselves.

I use Orgro, a text editor that runs using Emacs' org-mode. There's a version of Emacs available on F-droid, but it's too cumbersome to use without a keyboard. Orgro creates org files and has shortcuts for like lists and italics and shit. Once a week, I sync them up with my PC using Syncthing-Fork to back them up and organize them a little better if I feel I need to. Other anons have recommended Joplin, and that works just fine as well, but I personally prefer Orgro.

At home you can't see any cables dangling under desks etc, but behind the desk everything's a rat's nest.
It "works" because I don't have to touch anything for months and when I do it's not that big of a deal that it would justify investing more time and effort to do it "right".

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.
