Best music player app for Android?
I'm done using subscriptions, I'm just going to pirate all my music like the old days
Can I get a zune HD style music app or something similar? I still have my zune, but it's like 16gb and I don't want a second device

Former musicolet user who switched to pulsar here. I still think I like music(t)o(i)let better but the jeet dev seems to be too dumb to figure out how to get around the aggressive background process killing that happens on some phones. So I needed an alternative. Those are the only two apps I have used that are any good at all. Everything else is utter dogshit and the people who made it should be embarrassed.

thats like saying ''muh grandparents got the TV when everyone started getting TVs.. and i dont understand why''

the difference is that they had no use for it themselves. and while sure getting popular thing because it's popular thing is pretty normal, that's not enough of a reason by itself considering how expensive it was. again we weren't rich. the house i grew up in was made in the late '50s, complete with external wood fired heater for hot water. my parents drove cars from the '80s (my dad upgraded to a second hand one from '96 later, but when i left home in 2010 my mum was still using that '80s car), etc. not to sound like i'm complaining or anything, i enjoyed going with my mum to garage sales and flea markets, they're where i picked up all my early computer parts and stuff (i had a room full of old computer parts before the family computer)

There is saying
>It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it
Computers were pretty amazing at the time and people were sold the idea that they would replace everything
>>
>>108352008
same, I remember my parents taking money from my piggy bank to buy smokes and hocking the TV to make rent and never owning anything better than a second hand magna. But somehow they were able to afford a PC. I guess I am thankful it is the one luxury we did have because it forced me to have to wring every drop of entertainment I could out of it, and now I am a professional computer autist

>China's BYD announced it's coming out with Blade Battery 2.0 in March
>immediately its 5 flagship models will get it
>by the end of 2026, 70% of their new refreshed models will have Blade Battery 2.0
>40% energy density (210 Wh/kg vs. 150 Wh/kg)
>60-70% range increase (1000km vs. 600km maximum)
>12 minute charge from 20-80% at -20°C (impossible without warming with 1.0)
>6-7 times faster charge (5 minutes vs 33 minutes from 20-80%)
>33%+ cycle increase (>4000 vs ~3000)
>15% cheaper to produce (further price decrease for every model)

Has non-solid state battery technology reached its theoretical peak? Where we do go from here? I don't see how regular liquid batteries can get any better than this. How could you go faster than nearly a full charge within 5 minutes?

You've got to start with something.
Milence for instance began with one charging station in late 2023 and now has over thirty operational with more added each month.
>>
>>108351378
They're also 15% more expensive. So they're more expensive, gives a ton more energy density, but with fewer recharge cycles.

I can see why they're mostly in phones but not as much in EVs except high end models. Phone batteries can be cheaply replaced every 3-4 years, but for the average car buyer, it's probably something they can't afford, except richfags, so hence only high end premium models.

They'll run at the slowest speed/timings of any stick. But that might not matter for your use case. And check that they're in the right slots like anon said.

It has been running continuously since 2017 or 2018. Initially it was the WiFi router for my parents, now it's a VPN server and torrent box.
My Pi4B boards are also fanless and one of them has been in service since 2020, mostly for Kodi and Retropie.
The fan is optional, it allows the board to sustain high load for long periods without thermal throttling. If you don't load the board continuously, or don't mind the throttling, or can avoid it in other ways (CPU governor, undervolting) then there's no need for a fan.

It is, but you're right. Things are tough, but evidence shows the hype is stabilizing and companies are adapting to hire tech-savvy people who know how to use AI effectively and safely. New jobs will arise and others will die, just like in the industrial revolution.

Keep growing, keep learning and ignore the noise.

Firefox just announced that they are extending Windows 7 support yet again.

Despite originally pledging to drop support in 2024 they have now announced yet another 6 month extension and will probably extend after that to 2027 or even match Windows 10 LTSCs support timeline. This gives Windows 7 users an unprecedented 7 years post EOL support.

Despite being only 0.7% of Windows users they comprise 5% of Firefox users which are now becoming very lucrative to Mozilla as Windows 7 users are captive to Firefox as they are the only mainstream browser left in town. Despite recommending Linux upgrades it looks like RAM price increases have prevented people from buying new computers forcing them to keep using their ewaste Windows 7 computers and using Firefox.

It will be very interesting to see how long the can will be kicked, will we see Windows 7 users in the 2030s?

Because most of the defaults besides the "optimizations" are fine for most people. By choosing the "default" options, you get btrfs + snapper (bootable snapshots with working rollback, like openSUSE) all set up for you and a bunch of other small things to get you started. It's stuff a lot of arch users do install anyways.
