How come Netflix, Apple, OpenAI, or Meta use it in their stack huh? Will Zig be remembered the same way we remember Ruby when it was Ruby vs Python after Python won the race for being able to scale better?
>>107805830Was it that difficult to write it properly like that the first time?I literally couldn't understand the AI bot gibberish you wrote in OP.
Some of the new languages are quite good, but the hype around them is so disgusting and repulsive I'm completely losing interest in them. Hype will blow everything out of proportion.
>>107806757Sorry, I was really high when I made the thread. I saw it after I had already hit submit and say the file_name.jpg title on the screen.
>>107805676The language looks good and I like their simple self-contained compiler and build system. I've seen more than one person say that using its built-in C compiler is a better experience than setting up a normal C compiler. But I'm not sure where it's going to be used. It doesn't seem to stand out for any one use case. Games are going to continue using C++. Security-critical libraries are going to lean towards Rust. Low level reverse engineering stuff is going to stick with C. It doesn't compete with Go or with anything like Typescript or Python.
>>107805676>corporation uses something in their stack so it must be goodthey use all kinds of shit in their "stack", that's not a measure of quality, it's a memeis it stable? is it portable? does it have a rich library ecosystem?
what the fuck is AMD's problem that even google is outcompeting it in ai hardware?
google literally pioneered AI specific chipsBut all the companies that outdo amd are worth trillions so whatd you expect

>>107808092cuda was a total shit till nvidia sold their first supercomputer to oak ridge then after 5-7 years the engineers started releasing tools that gave the rise to itsame thing will happen to amd
>>107808092>even google is outcompeting it in ai hardware?google builds its own enterprise grade hardware for its own data centers anon, same with amazon. google, amazon and microsoft are the data center majors on the planet, nvdia is there because they supply google, amazon and microsoft with all the shit they don't make in house, and have most of the remaining market as well. amd competes with nvdia as a hardware vendor. this should suprise no one.

the x220 has a keyboard width of 286 mm, which is exactly like on a regular keyboard. the x270 has a smaller keyboard at 270 mm. what keyboards do current t14 or x13 models have?
>>107806916it will rune fine on 10+ years old ewaste if you give it enough ram and ssd.if you want something recent t14 g1|g2 should be best bang for the buck.
>>107807520 (me)okay I figured out that the t14 has normal sized keys, but the whole keyboard is not as wide because they shaved off a couple mm's on the right side, meaning the enter key and \| key aren't as large as on a typical keyboard
What the fuck is up with ebay/used prices??? People are really buying those $250 320 gig hard drive x230s???And how do tech youtubers get their hands on those $2 thrift store T480 deals, I’ve literally never seen a laptop at a flea market below $50, let alone at a thrift store.
>>107788057>libreboot announces support for something>gay scalper retards vacuum all the stock up, flash the lot, and resell for $800 a pop
I bought an external hard drive, UPS needed 4 tries to deliver it because they tried to deliver it to a shop that's closed again and again until I called them and said to deliver it to my address. So it's been loaded and unloaded from the tuck 4 times and probably been thrown a lot. The outer box is visibly dented. Should I send it back? It does have 4 year warranty though.
>>107805450I've bought $10 500GB HDDs from eBay, and none have failed me yet. I scanned them through Crystal Disk Info, and they all came out fine--last time I check, that is...They're from e-waste recycling centers, and actually aren't that old. Don't know if that was a good deal or not though. Probably would've been better to buy at least a TB. >>107805609My oldest drives are from 2008 and 2013, both 3.5".
