Ceeding “low end manufacturing” to focus on the “high end” is dumb because eventually those “low end” competitors level up to start jeopardizing your high end and now you have no fallback point
>>
>>64745250
Exactly, though the reason why western manufacturers are abandoning the low-cost segment also has a lot to do with government policy
Western governments are like
>you can't produce cars that are too unsafe or polluting, you must respect the unions and can't fire unproductive employees unless they murder someone and if you ever break any of the rules we will fine you billions. We'll be nice and give you tax breaks every now and then if you're in trouble though.
Meanwhile in China
>here's 100 trillion yuan, cheap land, rural slaves and subsidized materials. You can pollute as much as you want as long as you're producing anything that has 4 wheels and an engine. We'll make sure you also own at least 51% of any joint venture with foreign manufacturers so make sure to steal whatever tech you can get your hands on. Make sure to make EV's instead of ICE cars though, we basically have a monopoly on batteries and you guys suck at making ICE cars anyway.
>>
>>64745276
this doesn't make any sense.
ev cars are less polluting than ice cars.
ev car makers in china have no history as ice car makers but evolved from battery cell makers.

in reality every chinese industry hub funded its own player: BYD (Shenzhen), NIO (Hefei), GAC Aion (Guangzhou), SAIC (Shanghai), etc.
the west simply doesn't have any such industry hubs anymore.
>>
>>64746264
And yet this modern state of affairs is deliberate on the part of the west
We think its good, desirable to have everyone move to subburbs while foreigners come in

You could never scale a company up, like BYD did in the USA or Europe
>>
>>64746264
>ev cars are less polluting than ice cars.
By pollute I mean that they can dump industrial waste wherever they want because environmental regulations are lax
>ev car makers in china have no history as ice car makers but evolved from battery cell makers.
Only BYD started out as a battery company afaik. SAIC, Geely, GAC, Chery were all regular car manufacturers before they started making EV's.
EV's are also still cars, BYD had to hire automotive engineers and designers to design the frame, body, powertrain, software, etc etc

Considering now tankers have become a valid target for boarding and maybe sinking.
Do you have under war laws to mark it if you put missiles on it or can you just hide it until the enemy is in range if they try something?

What does that matter, those tankers being boarded are doing plenty of illegal things
>>
>>64746745
We're entering a new reality in which legality AKA rules doesn't matter as-is. What matters is the ability and interest to enforce and disobey the said rules. So the question is would they have the ability to enforce them. As for if they would disobey the rules you can assume they would because rules usually exist to limit or otherwise control something and breaking the rules would be beneficial.

So yes. To answer the question: yes, it is a brain dead question.

But you're asking a non-question. You don't understand where the question stems so you ask a question which doesn't make sense considering the starting point. To make you understand this better I'm going to present a question which would present the absurdity of your question:
>Would I get diabetes from eating McDonalds if i ate it too much?
It starts with the fallacy which answers the very question you're asking. Okay. I'm going to make it really simple: WW3 soon in theaters. Probably 2030 or so.

what are some memory holed wars?
Did you know the US invaded the Dominican Republic in 1965 with around 22,500 troops, 100 M48 Pattons, over 1000 combat air sorties. There was heavy fighting where around 60 Marines and 82nd Airborne troops died with 400 wounded.
>>

They are just fixing the jeep, dude.
>>
>>64745696
All of the micro nations wars.
The 3 wars of San Marino and if you consider the German occupation of San Marino the liberation of San Marino by Gurkhas.
>>
>>64745696
The other two cold-war border wars between Ethiopia and Somalia (besides Ogaden), the 90's US invasion of Haiti (nobody mentions it along with Panama and Grenada when talking about US toppling of Latin America leaders), the Ogacher strip war (the only interstate war in western Africa unless Nigeria pulls some intervention against the coup states), the Chaco war (first use of tanks in a South American conflict), the Ugandan Bush war (one of the few times the north Korean army would see actual combat after their 60's attempt at destabilizing the south), plenty more.
>>
>>64746043
The Uganda war is interesting to me because the Tanzanians won a total victory against Uganda, Libya, and just about every comintern minor power using 60s pot metal chinkshit.
Does that mean that Tanzanians were god-tier strategic geniuses or everyone else was just dogshit?

The politicians don't want a strong military because a strong military leads to a military junta.

They only pay them enough to contain terrorists in Mindanao and NPA bandits in provinces but not enough to overthrow civilian rule much less kill 10,000 Chinamen a day.

The AFP on the other hand realized that coups make them turbonigger tier and prefer to stay professional and as Westernized as they can be but its hard when general promotions are all handled by these same corrupt politicians.

I think you could see him change on camera over time as well. It's a shame, because a lot of the content they did together was genuinely good stuff, and that wasn't just Ian's lone doing either, Karl made his own contributions to InRange which I think were worthwhile.

You can see the remnants of them in the withered husk which InRange became over time, stuff which isn't necessarily bad, but doesn't get seen as much because Karl alienated too much of the existing and potential audience, and he'll never get it back due to his ideological bent and ego.
I could tolerate Karl being a weirdo and freak behind the camera, it's not like it was me who had to fuck his wife while he watched, but his personality disorders started seeping into the content.

t. Never shot a flintlock
>>
>>64743971
Because smoothbore flintlocks simply aren't as chaotically inaccurate as you think they are.

Modern made ones with modernly manufactured projectiles are probably better, sure, but a reasonably round ball from a smooth and reasonably round bore should in fact be able to MOSTLY hit a man sized target at 75yds. Maybe not always, and you're never getting laser precision out of this kind of weapon, also flintlocks have pretty long lock time, but grunts of yore DID in fact take aim, fire, and score hits, and it wasn't just a gamble.
You learn how to shoot the gun, learn how to follow through with the lock time, and learn how your individual gun patterns, and you should be able to do it.

The fact that these guns had ok accuracy at enough range (up to 100yds at its very farthest), is why militaries around the world continued to stick with smoothbore guns over rifled guns. Rifled bores offered supreme precision and extended range, but this wasn't seen as worth it for the much longer and tougher loading time, and thus much lower rate of fire.
Thus, rifled guns were civilian life hunting and sporting weapons, and limited specialist weapons.

It's with breech-loading muskets and projectiles like the Minié Ball where you can have a rifled gun with its long range and good precision, but also the fast and easy loading (and high rate of fire), of the smoothbore.

I can’t believe it took a 30 minute video to say what we already knew, which is that 10mm Auto is the superior automatic handgun cartridge, and that only after having to water it and then .40 S&W down for the women, manlets, and fags in the FBI did they just settle on 9mm because there was no difference at that point. Amazing.
>But muh fire rate!
Literally doesn’t matter in a combat scenario, doubly so if your shots don’t actually land. Paul Harrell already established this in his 1986 Miami Dade shootout analysis.

Lift weights and carry 10mm, anons.

That carries the risk of failure. These tepid do-nothings just want to talk down to people because so they can feel powerful instead of staying as the nobody they are in real life, but are too scared of looking like they suck (even though they do) to try and improve themselves. Their insecurity drives them to try and tear others down to their own level instead of building themselves up because they're afraid of letting the facade down and letting other people know what a bum they are.

Just look at >>64744480. Claims to have surpassed people, but doesn't actually say in what. He's trying to channel the confidence and superiority from the Glen Gary Glenross opening, but he's never done anything so he can't think of anything to claim. He'll probably try and follow up with "I've done X and Y and Z and I didn't say anything because I'm too cool," but if had something to be proud of, he would have led with it. He also admits that this is just a bid to get people to pay attention to him. Just pathetic, literally begging people to pay attention to him.

The easily accessible spots end at about your 10 and 2 o'clock. I keep tourniquets, a radio, and frag pouches up there. Anything big under your armpits is doable but not comfortable to wear and very annoying to access. Especially with side plates. I try to keep that clear if at all possible. Anything at the very back is nearly impossible to access but mostly out of the way. I keep my primary IFAK on the back left but that's a welfare queen SOP thing.

I've been reading up on these fascinating weapons and couldn't help developing a curiosity about them.

1, Are incendiary weapons actually useful or it's just fuck you collateral damage? We no longer use highly flammable wood for anything important anymore.
2, Do they work like in my tacticool games of Counter Strike or are they different? I mean, I'm sure they are not supposed to fizzle out after 7 seconds...
3, What's the better fuel for Molotovs, alcohol, ethanol, gasoline, diesel or a mix of them? All of these are treated equal but I'm sure each has their own characteristics like flash point, so I'm wondering if there is a best overall recipe.
4, What situations can you imagine incendiary weapons being useful in a modern battlefield? Burning down entire forests I can understand, but why risk using them in CQC?
