Baseline design is utilizing the Legend Class Cutter with a goal of the first hull in the water by 2028. Wonder how many VLS it will get, and if it will get Aegis.

>You are an idiot speaking on things you do not know about. Shh

Hes right. Military software is written in ADA, and requires a programmer with a security clearance. Lots of programmers with security clearances actually. The computing hardware in a 1990s cruiser is solidly obsolete even if it works just fine. Porting your software to modern hardware is much easier than to write it again.

>32 cell VLS built into the forward superstructure
>4 mk70 launchers (16 cells) on the flight deck
>1 mk70 launcher(4 cells) on the fantail in between the NSM lauchers
Theoretical maximum of 52 VLS cells. At least 2 of the Mk70s can be reloaded at-sea after converting the helo hangar into a magazine. Hangar giving extra capacity of 8-16 more tomahawk or SM-6 missiles

Total missile capacity of 60-68 strike length missiles. Network the fire control system with existing Aegis Destroyers and you can get more than 50% of an arleigh burkes firepower for about a third of the cost.

MAC1014, but it really isn't any better than the Charles Daly 601DPS that I had previously. I sold the CD to a friend and missed it, then saw that MAC offered a version with wooden furniture and a factory option for tube extensions that wasn't expensive. Pretty happy with it.

The rear sight on the MAC1014 did come loose at one point but SDS CS did a great job bringing it in for factory repair. Honestly way better CS and turnaround than I could offer in my job. The company I worked for didn't have the worst CS possible in that at least it existed, but we had consistently horrible customer reviews.
>>64662608
Pure luck of the draw. You can't expect anything because the manufacturers are mostly assembling guns out of subcontracted parts rather than having an entirely internal end to end manufacturing process where they can maintain an acceptable level of QC. Everyone's margins are extremely tight and they're always looking for some way to cheat each other, the importer and the end user. It's really a wonder that we didn't have many user injuries with the shotguns, which is owing mostly to shotguns having relatively low chamber pressures and blowing up away from the user's face most of the time so long as they are right handed.

The two key points I recommend are.
1) Stick to shotguns that are licensed or copied from a good design (like a Benelli M2 or M4, Winchester 1300, stuff like that).
2) Imported by a company that is well established and has a good CS system. Fill out the warranty card and save your receipt.
3) Buy new. If the used Turkish shotgun was so good the person selling it wouldn't be selling it. Usually they're dumping it because it's a non functional basketcase. Besides which if it is perfect, usually the warranty doesn't transfer over so if something breaks later you'll be screwed unless there's an aftermarket interchangeable part you can drop in (like an actual Benelli part to fix a Turknelli).
>>
>>64663708
>Wait they blow up?
Yes, sort of.

The vast majority of Turk shotguns have a flapper locking bolt lug that plugs into a barrel extension. This isn't a bad design. Mossberg 500s do the same thing and it's perfectly fine because shotgun chamber pressures are comparable to old BP cartridge firing rifles from the 1880s.

Of course when you have a wide range of parts subcontractors cutting corners you can get a cast bolt lug (they're always cast) that shears and the shotgun fires out of battery. This sounds like a huge catastrophic failure and it sort of is, but to give you an idea most of the time we got a report the user would come to us simply asking for a replacement bolt lug not realizing what had actually happened. The gun "exploded", but the failure is so contained and non dramatic that they don't even realize it.
>>
>>64662317
Ah I found the Cognoscenti on this thread! Yes everything you said is bull's-ass. I traded off my Dad's 3' Mag 1100 and got a RIA VR60 and modded the grip mag.well for M1919 Promag 20-drums of which I have several. Derya-Turkey/ARMSCOR/RIA. They have most obliging warranty service, fellow named Pedro.
I have 50 years in as Industrial Equipment repairman. I made chicken salad out of chicken shit. I know EXACTLY what kind of gun I have "it can be made to work reliably if you know what you are doing." Which includes the right Lucas Synthetic Gun Lube as to not delaminated the GRP fore end. I uprated the o-ring for the 2.75 power piston to red silicone. Also - these machines have rubber bolt buffers inside the bolt carrier which if wrong oil or neglected will contribute to locking lug failure (and yes they appear to be investment cast). Only thing you said not applicable to this model is that the annular power piston a la 1100 runs on a dedicated guide tube aka dummy mag tube. Not optimal but suits my needs fine. Also- the Apollo hardware was just a bunch of contracted out parts fastened together - so is everything. Only things ever built in fully integrated factories were Ford Automobiles and Soviet Tanks/Bikes/Tractors. Appreciate you taking the time to give me your take on my door blaster/nigger shooter/drone killer, Bro.
>>
>>64662317
PS - That is not my weapon. It seems that it WOULD have the power piston around the barrel, yikes bad idea.
>>
>>64664309
So you have the older iteration that has the dummy magazine tube? I've seen those around but haven't gone into them as much. It still seems like a very kludged design that is fine for shooting at the range or maybe home defense, but not robust enough for prolonged field use.

A big majority of canadians now support purchasing new Gripen fighter jets over the F-35. At the same time, the canadian government is looking over cancelling the rest of the F-35 on order whilst considering buying swedish instead. Will this be the first big loss of locksneed martin? How will the americans cope when their own neighbor don't want their overhyped fighter?

Brutally effective against meat and wood. Could slice through thin metal too but the weapon would lose effectiveness after one or two blows. Word on the street is that a conquistador saw on sever the head of a horse almost clean through. Another saw a lightly armored man nearly in half from shoulder to sternum. Logistics guy here. These things are brilliant from a logistics standpoint. The clubs themselves are made of a really sturdy hardwood and can potentially last for years of repeated use if cared for. The obsidian teeth would be child's play to set up production for.

Have one or two guys lugging baskets of teeth and you're golden.

Dunno really, but I'd imagine the enormous amount of torque you'd have available to manoeuvre the blade around may be part of it. Moving on into rampant speculation territory I wonder if it might give you some versatility in reach, as you should be able to use it well even slightly closer in than a more regular sword of that blade length (thanks to that leverage) while being able to slide your hands down the hilt for the occasional "potshot" at short polearm range.
