The .264/6.5x43mm does seem interesting, but 6.5x39mm/6.5 Grendel has already been outclassed. Grendel belongs in a museum; it has the same BC as 6mm ARC, less flat shooting than 6mm ARC, slower than 6mm ARC, similar bullet weights (90 gr or 108 gr being common); it's just old news. It did do a great job of outperforming 6.8 SPC though.
>>
>>64340204
>outclassed
No, it hasn't.
.30-06 hasn't been "outclassed"
(You) can make an argument that cartridge X outperforms cartridge Y in certain metrics, but each cartridge also has its disadvantages. Barrel burning one of them, but there are others.

6.8 was always a fucking joke. Solution to a 'problem' that never existed
>>
>>64339777
>why not just use the tech for 556?
Because we've got nas3 for that already being fielded. SIGs case in the m250 and rebarreled 240 plus a dmr would be ideal.
>>
>>64340278
>No, it hasn't.
>.30-06 hasn't been "outclassed"
See when two rounds serve a different purpose, then they can both exist alongside one another; however, when two cartridges serve the same purpose, like two intermediate cartridges known as 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC, it's unnecessary to own both. The people who already own 6.5 Grendel will continue to use it and the people who are now looking for an upgrade to 5.56 will likely consider the superior cartridge (the 6mm ARC or the .264/6.5x43mm). Look at how .450 Marlin slowly started dying out when 45-70 became the standard, how 6.5 Creedmoor is slowly making .270 Winchester die out, or look at how .38 Colt disappeared when .38 Super came around; the only people who kept the obsolete cartridge were those who bought into it before the upgrade came along.
>6.8 was always a fucking joke.
The funny thing about this statement is that while I meant 6.8x43mm/6.8 SPC (6.5 Grendel's main competitor in the early 2000s), you could apply this statement to 6.8x51mm/.277 Fury and it'd still be 100% accurate. LOL
>>
>>64340713
I don't see 6 mm ARC as a direct supplanting of 6.5 Grendel nor do I have a requirement for it
Yes agreed, some ? newer calibers can make older ones obsolete. .260 Remington though will probably stay around despite 6.5 Creedmoor's now-wide adoption. There are many other examples that can go either way

Those same complaints have been made about this size of HE for 80 years now. It's still the sort of obstacle-reducing firepower that formerly weighed 500lb and required a 4 man crew lugging it into position, well worth having around at this new 20-30lb form-factor.

Discoloration possibly from oil saturation or from corrosion around the recoil bolts staining the wood. Is it discolored on th inside too? You could take the bolts out and examine them for corrosion but the stock will probably have shrunk a bit over the years and trapped them in there.

>modernizing the revolver means lightweight materials, optics cuts, better triggers, and interchangeable cylinders/calibers!
Is he retarded? This is absolutely incorrect and this guy is never going to be satisfied because his demands are foolish. What we actually NEED in the revolver market is an autoloading revolver like the Mateba. What we actually NEED in the revolver market is a gas seal revolver like the Nagant (did you forget how popular suppressors are getting?).

He was right on putting autopistol chamberings in revolvers: something like 9mm or 45 makes your cylinder (and thus the whole gun) a fair bit shoter.

But hell, why not just combine the Mateba and the Nagant? A gas seal autoloading revolver? That's the only thing that might could pass for a "modern" revolver.

>could want better gas sealing to make revolvers more suppressor friendly
>nah man i need muh dot
comp shooting ruined handguns fr

shoulder holsters? not allowed in competitions. dead.
crossdraw? not allowed in competitions. dead.
striker dominance? it's not better outside of competitions. it's quite unsafe when your holster has clothing over it. now everyone has a kydex brick jabbing their dick. and the triggers keep getting lighter and shorter.
9mm dominance? best splits in comps. .40 S&W has better ballistics, similar capacity (-1) and recoil mitigation is a solved problem. but splits.
death of the revolver? suitable for self defense in all scenarios, but not for comps.

>revolvers are obsolete,

Six bullets are more than enough to kill anyone that moves. Have you seen some of the body cam footage of 9mm wounding some ghetto thug who gets mildly irritated, returns fire, and then flees? Would he be in such nice shape if 357 rounds were tearing through his body?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhaMoljh57Q

Have you seen 9mm auto-loaders jam up frequently in body cam footage? I have seen it countless times, and revolvers are much more reliable.

For civilian market, the vast vast vast vast vast majority of cases are going to involve a shooting at close range that is over in a few rounds. Getting into an extended fire-fight is extremely rare.

I cant wait for this little bastard to get released. It has a full hydraulic buffer just like the apc 223, along with 3 position gas piston. Telescoping stock. Very reliable and low recoil. Avg apc 223 goes for 4500$. The spc 223 will be around 2500$ new, which will completely crush any AR in that price range. You do the math.

Why hasn't Russia used chemical/biological/radiological weapons in Ukraine?

They're complete animals and have no problem killing and torturing civilians and POWs so it's clearly not a moral issue.

Putin is retarded enough to start the conflict so he's retarded enough to do whatever.

Their situation is bad and unsustainable so they'd probably be looking for any advantage.

They can veto UNSC measures to do something about it and the General Assembly's condemnations mean nothing.

The Chinksects will probably just complain to save face but still trade with Russia, the Frogs, Bongs and Krauts won't commit any forces because they fear "EsCaLaTiOn", Orange Man is cucked enough to do fuckall about it and Thirdies are pro-Russia enough to not care.

The Kremlin already considers Russian lives worthless so they won't give a shit about how it affects them unless it becomes an oligarch's problem or something.

I legit just don't see why Russia hasn't dropped sarin or mustard gas or caesium-137 on Ukrainian civilians yet.

Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Honestly?
It’s because they kind of suck. While also opening Russia up to retaliation.
>>
>>64340874
They do use chemical weapons. It's pretty well documented.
>>
>>64340958
IIRC the chemical weapons in question are basically tear gas (riot control agents). Granted its Ruski tear gas, so it probably gives you ten different kinds of cancer if you look at it for too long, but its more of a "technically a chemical weapon" than "literal nerve agents". There've been reports of the Russians intermittently using them to try to suppress Ukrainian trenches for a couple of years across most of the southeastern front.

Imagine, for a minute, that you see the neighborhood hobo on the sidewalk in front of your house, beating some guy who used to hang with him but has since decided he wanted to actually do something with his life. You might help the guy he's beating, because you don't think he deserves it, but you're not gonna personally step into harm's way for him. You're not afraid of the hobo because you're a hasguns, but getting involved could be messy and you don't want to fight a desperate hobo. Now imagine said hobo pulls out his HIV ridden syringe and shanks the guy with it. Now the risk calculation is different, now the hobo has escalated, and that HIV ridden needle is a credible threat to you. He's had arguments with you before, and threatened you. If he lunges at you, you might come away with something much worse than a bruise, and he's acting irrationally.
>>
>>64341107
It's basically high-grade tear gas that'll kill with prolonged exposure.
Ziggers use bomber drones to deploy it and flush ukies out of trenches and bunkers so they can shell/drone them.

Still, as far as war crimes legislation cares, they might as well be using VX or Phosgene.
Gas is Gas. It's illegal to use. Doesn't matter that it's a less-lethal riot control gas.
