What chance do they stand? It appears that the Turks are going to support the Syrian/HTS offensive to destroy the Kurds as the government has already starting shelling Tishreen Dam.

They're not much better though.
Honor killings of family members and spouses that don't drink the kurdish cool aid, suicide attacks with explosive vests on civilians, regular knoife incidents are among the popular export goods of kurds.
You just don't hear a lot of it because there are relatively few kurds in total, and when they attack they usually attack muslims. They're better than isis, but otherwise not much more than an "enemy of my enemy" kinda friend.
>>
>>64339094
Yeah, but who? Your choice is basically Russia or China, because the Kurds are a bunch of commies that hate the US and Turkey. Well, mostly Turkey, but the US due to its relationship with Turkey as well.
People want Kurds to be this heckin wholesome chungus, but it's honestly the Taliban in Afghanistan all over again. They're not wholesome, they're an ethno-nationalist movement with strong ties to Marxism. Does that make them bad? Not really, but they're not exactly on the shortlist of US allies.

In the lighted windows of the bus, I could see the faces of people who were sleeping, or reading the evening newspapers. Their work day had ended and they were hurrying to get home. They did not suspect that a deadly threat might lie in a small packet on the knees of the passenger in the government Volga behind them.

Prefacing this by saying I don't own (hard) Kevlar anything. My worry having played around with a lot of different materials making things is that you may start to delaminate the kevlar layers like cheap plywood on the edges depending on how it's cut or how it reacts. It may go well. It may not. You just can't know until you do it. Delamination may worsen over time from a spot you didn't notice originally as well. And how are you going to protect the cut edges? How can you secure the cut edge to prevent fraying or delamination (ie. using epoxy) without having a possibility of that also affecting the rating of the helmet? Just my overly cautious look on modifying anything like that.
>>
>>64323296
Might be a lot less doable with that Mossberg (nice Mossberg btw) but I like Magpul QD cups on the side of the stock above pistol grip and at front of forend and the default cheap magpul slide adjust sling. Put rifle at ~3 or 4 o'clock if you don't have anything else there and let it sit muzzle down. Great spot for a hunting rifle to sit, especially a folding stock 22. I think it'd help a lot knowing whether you're talking that mossberg or an AR or what. I'd really have to think about how I carry my AR for long times when hunting. Been a while.
>>
>>64323911
Didn't see this before replying like 2 minutes ago. Weirdly I find my Magpul sling comfy despite no padding. Might want to look at their padded sling; IIRC they do make one. I really don't like cheap slings FWIW, maybe except a surp Colt silent sling. Also cradling the rifle in one arm (muzzle left, on right forearm) can relieve some of the weight on your left shoulder. Sometimes I hold it in both arms. Whatever makes my shoulders feel best during the day as needed.

>>

It's really not at all different in concept besides the anti-drone use which wasn't really a thing when the XM25 was in development. Hopefully it'll make use of about 2 more decades of development, but I suspect all of these things will run into the same issue that it did, that most guys would prefer a carbine.

The .264/6.5x43mm does seem interesting, but 6.5x39mm/6.5 Grendel has already been outclassed. Grendel belongs in a museum; it has the same BC as 6mm ARC, less flat shooting than 6mm ARC, slower than 6mm ARC, similar bullet weights (90 gr or 108 gr being common); it's just old news. It did do a great job of outperforming 6.8 SPC though.
>>
>>64340204
>outclassed
No, it hasn't.
.30-06 hasn't been "outclassed"
(You) can make an argument that cartridge X outperforms cartridge Y in certain metrics, but each cartridge also has its disadvantages. Barrel burning one of them, but there are others.

6.8 was always a fucking joke. Solution to a 'problem' that never existed
>>
>>64339777
>why not just use the tech for 556?
Because we've got nas3 for that already being fielded. SIGs case in the m250 and rebarreled 240 plus a dmr would be ideal.
>>
>>64340278
>No, it hasn't.
>.30-06 hasn't been "outclassed"
See when two rounds serve a different purpose, then they can both exist alongside one another; however, when two cartridges serve the same purpose, like two intermediate cartridges known as 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC, it's unnecessary to own both. The people who already own 6.5 Grendel will continue to use it and the people who are now looking for an upgrade to 5.56 will likely consider the superior cartridge (the 6mm ARC or the .264/6.5x43mm). Look at how .450 Marlin slowly started dying out when 45-70 became the standard, how 6.5 Creedmoor is slowly making .270 Winchester die out, or look at how .38 Colt disappeared when .38 Super came around; the only people who kept the obsolete cartridge were those who bought into it before the upgrade came along.
>6.8 was always a fucking joke.
The funny thing about this statement is that while I meant 6.8x43mm/6.8 SPC (6.5 Grendel's main competitor in the early 2000s), you could apply this statement to 6.8x51mm/.277 Fury and it'd still be 100% accurate. LOL
>>
>>64340713
I don't see 6 mm ARC as a direct supplanting of 6.5 Grendel nor do I have a requirement for it
Yes agreed, some ? newer calibers can make older ones obsolete. .260 Remington though will probably stay around despite 6.5 Creedmoor's now-wide adoption. There are many other examples that can go either way
