What's the best cap and ball revolver? Are they suitable for home defence?

Everybody knows the best home defense weapon is a blunderbuss loaded with random trash to shoot at intruders
>>
>>64691929
>are they suitable for home defense?
No. Even though every military adopted them and people carried them all the time for personal defense these actually can’t be used to defend yourself. Just leave your car keys by the front door so the home invader can take them and leave without hopefully hurting you.

Best cap and ball revolver is an 1958 Remington New Model Army, hands down. Whatever barrel length you feel like.

Are the good for home defense? Fuck no lmao but if you're a felon it's better than nothing I guess and the quick change cylinders on the 1858 make reloading in a firefight at least somewhat feasible.
>>
>>64734195
Hey I agree with you 1000 except for one thing - barrel length R E A L L Y makes or breaks velocity on BP .44s. Velocity is energy. Energy is Lethality. Lethality is Safety (yours not fuckheads).
If we are talking home defense I, repeat I would hate to see anybody use anything less then an 8" barrel.
And if you can spend the money, GET A 12" BARREL 1858.

Pietta™ 1858 Remington Buffalo Black Powder Revolver - .44 Caliber 12" Barrel Brass Frame w/ Blued Barrel - RGC44
If you just standard-load the thing and do the candle - drip thing on the balls and on the nipples - you're set. Throw it in a drawer, fire it clean it, oil it, reload it once a year = stop worrying now.

Why isn't Russia putting explosives in their "advanced" super sonic missiles? This is the second time the "oreshnik" missiles have been used and they were empty again. I read they're very expensive, limited. People theorizing they were out of them already.

To loft the 10x heavier payload is going to fuck the range. But that may not matter in this case they may be range trading. Then "dummies" might just be lead or something cheap still with explosive equivalent effect.

Going to have to wait for the soon-to-come Oreshnik strikes on Faslane and Molesworth to see the explosive version.

They've tried to launch them even more often but they've had at least 2 fails. The attack they did on Dnieper a while back looked cool as fuck though. But the success rate for a "nuke" platform seems... interesting

Munitions Council anon here. >>64332511 >>64604791
Over the past 24h, Trump and defense contractors have made a ton of announcements that are independent of Munitions Council developments, doubling upon the already increased 2027 2-4x baseline that was targeted by the Munitions Council back in September. So up to a 5-8x increase from 2024.
For Lockheed Martin we have not just PAC-3 MSE from 620/y to 2,000/y but also
>THAAD from 98/y to 400/y
>PrSM 400/y to 2,000/y
>JASSM/LRASM from 1,100/y to 3,300/y
These are the conversations LM is having with the Pentagon. Raytheon is expected to follow suit as Trump is lighting a fire under their ass. If THAAD is seeing a quadrupling, we might actually get 100 SM-3s a year and 500+ SM-6s by 2027. Also cannot forget LM's JATM, 1000 missiles. Now. I'm calling it.

IDK if this is going to work. This is command economy it needs incorruptible commissars organic in production teams to stop diversion and profit games.

Note the top down thing but the lower ranks of government are mostly pissed off legacy Democrat voters who are going to enjoy sticking their fingers at DOGE - and they are just another critical layer of a command economy. Its not 1943.

Are those your results for those times at 7 yards? I'd say that's a good place to start but you've got an lot of training to go. I'm sure you will continue to improve.

How the fuck do you even make mechs make tactical sense?

They present a high as fuck target, have these thin chicken legs with a million moving parts, exert ludicrous ground pressure. They cost probably as much as a nuclear submarine, are limited by line of sight, would be fucked up by a tank, couldn't touch a modern jet that could kill it from 30000 feet high and 10 miles away etc.

Like how the hell do you bend the rules of your universe to make these

I wouldn't be sperging out about this if Battletech was lemonade sci-fi running on the rule of cool and the power of friendship, but its intended audience was milsim autists who willingly bought hundred-page pretend technical manuals for these pieces of garbage.

Still a hell of a lot cheaper than the mech it destroys, it's about 150,000 or so C-Bills per missile but even a locust will be costing you 1.5 million C-Bills.

Actually I was wrong.

You get 5 Arrow IV's for 1 ton, at a cost of 10,000 C-Bills per ton. So the total cost per missile is only 2,000 C-Bills a missile. Which is extremely affordable when one of these things can take out a Locust.

Good morning, /k/. Hopefully this doesn't kill a good thread.
I'm hoping someone still has this image. It was pretty regularly shared back in 2009-2012.
It was a "prepper" image, with half of it being greentext of a man talking to his anti-gun neighbor about prepping. His neighbor boasted about having food, medicine, gardening supplies, etc., but no guns to protect it. The man talking to him summed it up by saying something along the lines of "So you have food, medicine, and supplies. Your gun nut neighbor on the other side of you knows that you have it, and don't believe in owning guns. How will that work out for you if something happens?" And the greentext ends with "his face after I say this:", and it's an image of a man with a shocked look on his face. Does anyone have this image? Can you share it with me, please?
Old H&R top break for size reference.
>>
I'm convinced that there has been a complete turnover of /k/. There do not appear to be any oldfags at all, in the board or jannies. Last time I started a Payback Enterprises thread, I was banned for it.

First off, you fucking pleb, learn how to spell.
Second, do the obvious thing of standing in a position to make yourself as small as possible. But a dumbass like you should stand in the St Andrew position and do society a huge favor.
Third, DO NOT wear any type of clothing above the waist and make sure the clothes you do wear and yourself is clean. I know you're going to ask why so I'll spoon feed you- If you do get shot you'll most likely either die immediately or within hours due to shot placement (rare), or die days/weeks later because of infection (common).

To be fair, the fact that the US had to do an in and out mission and didn't hang around to bomb targets at will for a few hours later is proof that the US was concerned of potential viable threats in the area.
Whether those threats were radars is unlikely, but there is a limited timeframe for decoys and chaff to work effectively.
>>
The Chinese used their backdoor into the radars and intercepted all signals for analysis while appearing not to work on the Venezuelan side. When the US attempts anything against China they'll be caught off guard by the efficacy of the radars. All Chinese sold equipment function as signit devices when used against us hardware

I like playing Bush Ninja. I live in a native village in Alaska, and most of the people here are viciously racist toward white people to the point of making trouble with my boss whenever they see me outside. So whenever I go out with my kit and I hear a vehicle coming I duck into the bush and see if I can hide from them until they drive by without being seen.

That isn't like "oh I always have a knife" (work requires at least one) or common sense be prepared type shit is probably that I'm always thinking about how to attack/defend places I'm at or going. to various levels of tech/equipment and force sizes. Helps stave off boredom.

I like to think about both improvising or just designing /making weapons and equipment.

Also like to practice movement for mace & board though don't yet have a buckler or something, and sadly left my mace at home when I left for my job.

Correction to date last post = 5/12/2023. lol.
Well one thing is that the percussion Colt Pocket Pistols just don't share even the same architecture as the Belt Models and THEY don't share any architecture with the Saddle Models.
The mechanical kinematics of DAO can be much simpler than DA.SA lockwork. In the abstract it has to be a pair of levers 1) extending from the back of the trigger, and above it 2) extending forwards from the hammer 3) arranged such that 2 is disengaged from 1 when hammer fully cocked, and 4) also such that 1 can return to initial position with 2 also in initial position.
I JUST REALIZED THAT LIFETIME I HAVE READ TOO MANY PATENT DESCRIPTIONS.
