Given China's sabre rattling, US unreliability, and wildly successful ook nook posturing by Russia and DPRK, it seems a no-brainer for Taiwan to acquire nukes of its own. Do you believe it currently has a secret nuclear program, or it's too oblivious/compromised to do the obvious? What kinds of nuclear weapons/delivery systems would most effectively deter a Chinese invasion?

>>64643232who are you quoting and who are you talking to?
>>64642040How would nooks protect Taiwan? Especially when they're already protected by American nooks? It's not like they need MAD capability, nor could they have it.
>>64644471The US is not going to nuke China during a conventional invasion. If Taiwan falls, the US will not nuke China over it. Fight China? Sure. But no nukes unless if China goes full retard and pushes the button first. If Taiwan has nukes, they have their own "Fuck you" option if all hope is lost. That makes the idea of invading them more frightening.
I like how it was just a dumb 'what if taiwan get nuke thread' and yet this so called "american" immediately sperg out and call everyone a tranny because people imply taiwan won't fold to chink

If you were tasked with designing a military transport plane, how would you prevent this from happening?
Realistically, how would you prevent this from happening?
>>64640655>Aluminum does not. Any flexing causes permanent damage. Is the same true for titanium?
>>64639759Not make it out of any cardboard derivatives
>>64644665I always hated this scene. The wing is pretty much the frame of a plane, the fuselage would have failed way sooner. Also the big guy (uuuu) doesn't slow down or pitch oscillate or anything from the drag of a business jet literally getting ripped apart while it's towing it
>>64644755Afaik, it happens with all materials period. Luckily for metals at least, it happens at a fairly predictable rate (there is an actual test for this, where they spin a test rod on a machine that counts cycles with a weight on one end causing some flex) so the structural parts can have known lifespans.

This is a literal combat ship.
>>64644341>>64644674Roberts returned to port under power without losing combat capability rather than requiring another ship risk the minefield to rescue survivors.
>>64637235>In naval war with China the ships will take either zero hits or multiple hits[citation needed]>>64637152this is a fine listthe last 2 items underscores a further concept: building ships and training DC like this also means fewer ships lost through peacetime incidents
>>64644694 >Roberts returned to port under power without losing combat capability BS, it lost all primary power, had to fallback on the aux diesel gensets (meaning its radars and battle management program were offline). It got out of the minefield by running the maneuvering thrusters (this detail was omitted from reports at the time, because it still was somewhat of a secret).
>>64644760Looks like you're right about the radar, but maneuvering thrusters are not a tow line.
>>64644772>maneuvering thrusters are not a tow line. They're not exactly rare on modern frigates either. Helge Ingstad had one as well, and with a non-retarded crew they could've crawled into shallower waters to beach the ship. Then again, stupid ship (antisubmarine frigate, but with AEGIS, but only with ESSMs), stupid crew, a match for the ages.

>>64644064Are you referring to soft armor or an actual plate? I don't see an opening for a platebag.
In recent news, Chinese shitplate dealer Legacy Safety & Security, known for dealing a cheat-ringed 5lb Level IV that stops three .30-06 M2AP (tile array), is now selling decently priced dual-threat IIIA + stab soft armor with low BFD. The weight sucks and they aren't on the CPL last I checked.https://www.ebay.com/itm/115034358448?A new European operator Bodyguard Ballistic out of the Netherlands is selling IIIA+ 10x12 soft armor rated for 7.62x25 Tok and select 9x18 Mak. Also Level 1 stab.https://www.ebay.com/itm/365179500844Lastly, a dude is selling surplus Survival Armor 6x8 IIIA pairs for $50. This is solid if you're running ICW IIIA side plates or running ESBIs / XSBIs.https://www.ebay.com/itm/389102963674?

What will this thing do that a $500 one won't?
>>64643271>actual orderSubject of my post (You) replied to is specifically the three 1990s polymer-receiver HK firearm designs, neither the G3 or MP5 are those(though they remain outstanding and the MP5 is still the world's Cadillac submachine gun in 9 mm and .40 S&W chamberings)
>>64640295Wannabe pretend rich pseudo-peasants. If they were actually rich, they'd buy a $70,000 pre-ban FAMAS.
>>64632514>417's tuned to be DMRs with tighter clearances, but the assault rifle variants have purposefully larger clearances for reliability.Didn't 9 hole reviews shoot crazy good groups especially on the assault variant?
>>64641313>9mm is much cheaper to shoot and far more popular.Anyone buying a select-fire SMG is not hurting for cash. >True, weight and other design factors affect the felt recoil. But the caliber the weapon is chambered in is a great factor also. Id also say that most weapons that are chambered in both 9 and 45 are more easily handled in 9 like the vector or the ump.Anon, for the third time, the UMP's problem was not the chambering. It was available in three calibers: 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP and it sucked in all 3 calibers due to the extremely lightweight body clashing with the extremely heavy bolt, which was also straight blowback. The Vector, on the other hand, feels amazing in all three calibers it's chambered in (9mm, .45, 10mm) when it's full-auto due to the downward cycling bolt it has, but when shot semi-auto, it feels awkward in all three calibers because rather than the gun staying in place, it just pulls downward. I'm going to reiterate it in a separate paragraph so you understand: the UMP's awful recoil had nothing to do with .45 ACP, the people who bought the 9mm variant also hated firing it in full auto.
>>64644346FRT isn't that much money as far as full auto. I never said the recoil was because of 45acp I said it was a cheap plastic blowback. I love shooting 9mm because its cheap but has a kick unlike .22. I spent over 3k for the mp5 to shoot cheap ammo. Just because you make money doesn't mean you like to waste it. I spend way more on ammo over the life of the gun.
They are doing the "slow column advance on an open road" meme again.

>>64644654>and impossible to deterDoing everything russians are vocally complaining about is the perfect deterrence against them.
>>64644567I meant more along the lines that even with a fairly favorable treaty, Putin will still think he can get more out of it and say no. >>64642110>The J-35 should've stayed an orphaned project,The FC-31 was the orphan. It's a MiG in an F-35 bodykit. The chinks want you to think that the J-35 is an evolution of the FC-31, but it's actually an entirely different plane. All of the body panels are different, the control surfaces are different, it has the F-35 cockpit (for no reason, but they didn't know that), it's just got very similar dimensions because they're both copied from the external design of the F-35 crudely stretched to fit a pair of their underperforming Soviet-derived engines.
>>64642221You'll find out when they're hunting Temu J-20 Sharting Dragons and the Chinese government doesn't report them missing.
>>64644670The part about the J-35 cockpit opening back to front for no reason other than because it's a cargo cult plane will never not be funny.
