Colours I have in mind are a forest/olive-y green with bone-white as the accent colour for helmets etc.Fluff I've got for them so far is they believe in returning the Eldar to their glory days, but unlike Biel-Tan who think the best approach is to kill everyone else, they're instead trying to build a sort of mini-empire in some corner of the galaxy for them and their friends to fuck off to and pretend everything else isn't happening, with their Craftworld parked in orbit above a maiden world. They're trying to convince other Craftworlds to join them, and also sending occasional piratical raids to find and take resources/treasures from lesser races to keep in their "empire". They're very chummy with Exodites. With the exception of the "requisition" raids, they're generally not openly aggressive but are VERY territorial about their domain and won't tolerate trespassers.
Sup GROG, me and my friend had our first game of 40K 4th Edition today. Lots of fun, but we had a few questions regarding melee combat.>Can you shoot an enemy model that's engaged in combat by another friendly unit?>Can you consolidate into another round of combat?>Passing a morale check after losing a combat just makes the squads pile in, right? And if so, does another round of combat happen?Maybe some of these answers are obvious but we missed them due to the heat of battle.
>>97215677>>Can you shoot an enemy model that's engaged in combat by another friendly unit? No.>>Can you consolidate into another round of combat? You can consolidate into contact, but combat does not start until the next round.>>Passing a morale check after losing a combat just makes the squads pile in, right? What are your experiences with in-game moral and ethical dilemmas and players saying, "At the climax of our journey, we turn around and leave"?I feel as though a lot of GMs' attempts at in-game moral and ethical dilemmas are unwittingly sabotaged by adventure inertia and players' desire to avoid saying, "At the climax of our journey, we turn around and leave."The way I usually see it structured, a bunch of antagonists stir up trouble. The PCs agree to help the locals. The party investigates some dangerous place or situation. Then, at the very end of the adventure, the PCs see that the antagonists have some vaguely justifiable reason for causing trouble. The above structure is perfectly fine (and indeed, I have used it many times myself as a GM), but where things get janky is when the antagonists sincerely plea for the PCs to just turn around and leave, and the GM earnestly expects this to be an option that should be seriously taken into consideration.I have never, ever seen this happen, for understandable reasons. Very, very few players want to say, "At the climax of our journey, we turn around and leave." It is much more common for the players and their PCs either work out a compromise with major concessions from the antagonists, beat up the antagonists, or both (i.e. beat up, restrain, work out compromise and major concessions from position of power).(Continued.)

This is why they burn down orphanages, kick puppies, and slaughter nuns. The gods will it. And this is also why orcs will only speak words of love in hushed whispers beneath the roof of their hovel, if they did it out under the open sky (where the gods live) the gods would surely punish the orcs for daring to yearn for a life beyond simple marauding.Orcs are like that because they believe the gods hate them.
>>97216373I've almost had to stop having NPCs try to deceive or lie to my players a times because they just cannot understand that sometimes people might be trying to misdirect them or have a motive to lie to them. They just take everything my NPCs say at face value without question, and then if there's a conflict in what's happening vs what they said (Like when someone tells them that room is perfectly safe while cackling, then they walk in and the door slams shut while the ceiling starts lowering), they assume I made a mistake or forgot something. That the NPC intentionally lied to them never even crosses their mind.

The thing about "do not humanize the monsters is" is that you don't even need to ask. People literally never even think about it if the game just has you kill a bunch of evil demons and doesn't elaborate. DOOM is a best-seller every time without fail. But when you see someone, in some other game, make demons or monsters with internality and ability to change and start to insist that no there is NOTHING wrong with killing THESE demons they are ALL evil and just animals, that makes people try and see good in them. The more you frantically shout all monsters are evil always instead of just having it be a background fact that you don't need to worry about, the more it makes people go the author doth protest to much, methinks.

>>97210948Napoleonic style line warfare doesn't work with most fantasy settings, due to existence in most of them of more precise substitutes for artillery and line breaking units. You can't really have anything close to Napoleonic style warfare when the other side can put a wizard with Fireball on the field.
>>97211873Modelling wise? Absolutely. If you check out any reviews on historical miniatures any guy worth his salt is going to be going into some autistic details over what is done right and wrong. >>97212059I love MFZ for the idea, but the implementation fucking sucks. Thoughts on the BP Epic Waterloo stuff? I had never payed much mind to it because Waterloo is not a campaign that I'm that interested, but a bunch of guys at the club have been playing it and I found a couple of second hand starter sets for very cheap. I'm seriously tempted to get the Prussian starter and join them. They also play with the ACW stuff.Btw the new captcha is fucking stupid.
I feel like this edition has alot of objectively bad things about it and is absolutely where the alot of worst qualities of current editions showed up. But I feel like I prefer playing this edition compared to a lot of previous editions and 10th edition. Its a weird transitional period where there's still a lot of the old units that haven't been legended yet while still having the fucking Primaris lot. Its strange but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much staying on this edition and playing with friends casually instead of going back to playing the current edition.
>>97212864Pretty much opinion exactly. It was pretty funny though how fast the excitement over 8th (oh thank god, 7th is dead at last!) turned to disappointment as it rapidly turned into its own form of debacle.
I remembering 1000pts of Eldar tabling 3000 pts of nids. I remember Eldar tabling Orks turn 1, fellow took out 100s of models, and didn't play a single one. We had a statewide tourney and the top 25 were all Eldar.
>>97213029Seconding a request for that
>>97186108There's an 8th Edition?! I stopped following the sales driven Churn in the 90s, have done my own thing and am I'm still enjoying playing 3rd-4th edition even today. Lets hope GW doesnt keep shitting out even more editions every couple of years, right? Imagine how sad you would have to be to just keep buying countless even shittier rules books just because the game company says you have to, to continue to play the game you already own and enjoy, right? LOL.
>>97214830It's crazy how long Eldar dominated the game so much so that GW's serious attempt at balancing marines was to just make them chunkdar. 9/10 if an Eldar player asked you for a game beforehand you were better off going to the hobby table/home instead of wasting your time putting down models you'd be picking up turn 1-2.

>>97209931The newly established Mughal government in Delhi is trying to focus on achieving unity across the empire. After Bahadur Shah II died in 1862, his son Mirza Mughal was crowned as Akbar III. Greatly influenced by lemurian mysticism, he is planning to continue the project of his ancestor Akbar I, the “Din-I Ilahi” philosophy of unity and harmony between the different faiths of the subcontinent, now intertwined with lemurian mysticism. The difficulty of lemurian mystics and lords is difficult to quantify, though many within the top ranks of his administration are of lemurian origin. This is worrying many non-lemurian lords and nobles, as the tendency to blindly follow prophecy makes them passive followers of fate in their eyes.
We could probably tie this lore a bit more with the lemurian one. Any suggestions how?
Also, for the option of a neomughal book, here are some tokens and units I've made. I do need to add more lemurian-related stuff, so any ideas would be appreciated. >>97194909>Brahmin-ProphetDo you have any idea for the unit's art?

>>97216969Precisely. This guy >>97200938 said it already but just compare current year fantasy art compared to stuff from the 1930s to '80s
>>97196293Dragon's Dogma AD&D but with monster hunter controls.Dungeon Meshi AD&D but with cooking. So maybe add more than just basic D&D. Classic AD&D is a great base for your fantasy world/setting/game etc. Just add more to it other some power fantasy BS. Hell people love the basic setting, so if you changing stuff from it. Don't make it worse, look at Woke DND settings and games. Sure you have activists and tourist defend it, but they won't play or buy the games now. Hell will be honest, sometimes not changing much can be a good thing too. Since everyone want to change it so it feel unique and not like D&D they make it worse, and shocker people like the D&D feel. Maybe sometimes just go with it.
What "magical realm" and edgy stuff do you like including in your RPGs?For me is forceful genderbending spells that can't be undone.
>>97153880For me it's polygyny and default female bisexuality. In most settings this is trivially justifiable by a huge portion of young men getting themselves killed adventuring, soldiering, by marauding monsters, etc. Also cat/fox/wolf ears.

How do you justify a "pest race" like goblins or rat people in your setting? Why wouldn't the dominant species make a concentrated effort to eradicate them if they were a problem?
>>97216563There are zero genders. There are two sexes though.>>97217034Intersex people are intersex. It's in the term. Still not a third sex, just a mutation.
