There seems to be two types of wizards:
>Slovenly eccentric geniuses
>Strict organized perfectionists
I think this is because you have to be highly intelligent to become a wizard.

It has been speculated repeatedly that puckee has a friend on the mod team, and I understand that argument. I think the truth is more pathetic, though. The mod is mad that he's being "told what to do" and is actively allowing spamming so people correctly trying to get this idiot gone don't "win."

Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work). Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have!

I would love to include more of these, but all of my players have grown up playing 3e, 4e and 5e and refuse to use spell ingredients for the games since "we're only playing a few levels anyway, it's not like we're going 1-20".

Its because a lot of people have no social skills and have to play retail, which leads to Stockhold Syndrome in which they openly begin to support bad practices as the alternative in their eyes is not playing. They betray themselves every time though, because all they focus on is the ability to get games from the tourney goblins bringing the freshest broken meta to the tournament.

This is to buy into the idea though that mental illness is not illness. Both depression and MS are ultimately physiological, even if the symptoms they exhibit are different. I don’t think most of us look at someone with an ‘obvious’ ‘physical’ illness and see it as a character flaw. To draw an artificial category distinction, both ‘physical’ and ‘mental’ illnesses can be helped through pharmacological intervention and non-medicinal coping strategies and behavioural changes. For both categories, the latter are often more difficult than the former for obvious reasons: a pill doesn't have to fight habits and behaviours often long ingrained by coping with a particular illness. The body shepherds its energies for survival and is loathe to expend them ‘unnecessarily’. It’s one of the cruellest paradoxes of any long term illness.

Most people with depression do get out of bed to provide for themselves and their families, not least because they have no other choice. I know you aren’t that anonymous, but you both seem to think that people with depression have no self-awareness and would kill to be able to just ‘stop that fag shit’. I don’t want special treatment or accommodations - I want to be normal, productive, functioning and socially contributory, and it would be nice if those efforts came to feel normal, easy and healthy.

Wow, not a single wargame worthy anecdote
>Pretending WW2 is boring
WW2 is the most popular historical wargaming period, that is an objective fact. I am in no need to convince you of it being cool. But (You) are completely incapable of making a pre-industrial wargame sound interesting at all, which is why it will remain a dying niche of a niche

>This is to buy into the idea though that mental illness is not illness.
It is weakness though.
>MS
idk what that is
>I don’t think most of us look at someone with an ‘obvious’ ‘physical’ illness and see it as a character flaw
Appeal to the masses is a fallacy. Also, I never said "character flaw", just flaw. It certainly is a flaw to be physically or mentally ill. A flaw is a blemish, an imperfection, a drawback. A runny nose certainly is a blemish.
>pharmakeia hopium
idk mate, I don't touch the stuff
>Most people with depression do get out of bed to provide
Well shit nigga, then those people are less depressed (ie. less weak) than the more depressed (ie. weaker) ones. You understand what a spectrum is, right?
>The body shepherds its energies for survival and is loathe to expend them ‘unnecessarily’
Yeah, because it is weak. Make it stronger and it'll have more energy, and thus be less loathe to expend some of it. Poor people are always the worst hoarders for the same reason.

Do you guys reckon the next big 'munda release will be another "zone Necromunda" game? It's pretty wierd that there's been 2 AoS warhammer quests back to back, and I'm starting to wonder if the Underhells box is to be considered an alternative. That would kinda explain how the whole thing feels pretty tacked on to regular Necromunda

Playing a ttrpg is not real socializing. Yes you spend your time with people but it is spent playing pretend. The real socializing happens before and after the session.

Dungeon and Dragons, by virtue of being Dungeon and Dragons, is the definition of a generic fantasy system.

I had no idea there was so much hate towards the Verbena. I was just thinking of a character concept based on the vvitch movie from 2015 about witches who try to initiate people into their culture by first destroying all attachments they may have. But why is such a tradition so reviled? I don't see them that much different from the hermetics or the cult of ecstasy.

Welcome to /un0/, an RP thread for playing a World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness Hunter. For any OOC questions about WoD/CofD, check the official general. >>97224887

Rules:
>We are acephale. There is no storyteller, we are not a quest.
>This thread is based primarily but not exclusively in the nWoD/CofD game Hunter: the Vigil. However, Vigil is defined by being highly setting agnostic, with a system for creating entirely custom monsters that do not exist in other WoD/CofD games. Thus, you have significant freedom in what you want to play and what you want to hunt. Feel free to play a member of the Society of Leopold, or a member of the Lucifuge hot on the tail of a Lasombra.
>Namefagging is encouraged but by no means mandatory.
>Keep in mind that even highly experienced Hunters typically only have fractured pieces of the puzzle, and every table has their own canon. The night is dark and full of misinformation.
>/un0/ is conceived of as an experimental end to end encrypted program that is very hard to compromise, retains very little data and purges that data regularly. Please play an actual Hunter.
>Spoiler any OOC discussion.

Happy hunting.
Unless this thread somehow takes off like a rocket, this will be the last un0 thread for the foreseeable future. Towards the end of the thread, please give your feedback in regard to these shorter, limited run RP threads.

checked out Artefact because it had great reviews and sounded cool as hell
and it's basically like.... 5 pages blown up to 50, and there are basically no prompts or tables or anything to nudge your imagination in it
its literally just steps like
>ok imagine your artefact was like sitting there for a long time pick how much time
>now imagine that like someone found it and used it for a while
>ok now imagine it was sitting there for a while again
>now imagine someone found it again
and that's literally ALL there is in the book
there's literally nothing in there to nudge your imagination or give you some crumbs to get things flowing or give you suggestions or anything like that
really lame
its like someone saying "i made a book that helps you imagine your own adventure!!" and you open it and there's just one sentence in it that says "ok, imagine your own adventure. imagine the beginning, the middle, and the end. wow you did it great job thanks for buying my book"

I like big fucking axes.
I like throwing big fucking axes.
My favourite monster is a magically animated big fucking axe that flies around on it's own.
My favourite magic spell is "I hit you with a fucking axe"
My favourite character type is a guy holding a big fucking axe.
My favourite non-weapon item or gadget is a little axe that's actually a razor/bottle opener
My favourite type of adventure involves recovering powerfully enchanted magical axes, which are guarded by enchanted flying axes.
My favourite setting is anywhere I can bring an axe.
My favourite genre is Axepunk, where the entire economy and basis of civilization revolves around making, selling and using axes to solve problems.

My adjective is "Visceral".
I can describe over four hundred distinct and variably lurid ways to kill somebody with an axe.

If I could choose Axe for a race that would be dandy, but Dwarf or Warforged is close enough.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

a pathetic reply nogames-fag
people who played adventures are passionate about discussing them
people who didn't are passionate about discussing what they just recently read in the PHB/DMG, or ... whatever the fuck personal rivalries are going on in these threads
because that's all you do all day everyday

I wanted to say thanks to anyone who helped me with some questions about mutant future and labyrinth lord in a previous thread. I now had a question about some supplements. I heard that apes victorious added some neat stuff for mutant future by some people, but I also heard that it actually is a bit harder to convert to mutant future and does not add much. Does anyone know if that is the case? Some of the powers sound neat, and my players want to use more offensive mental abilities. Are the psi powers vs mental mutations just different names?

How is the advanced mutant companion? I know it is made by someone other than goblinoid games, so I was wondering if it added a lot of neat options without changing the core game. It looks like it adds feats and skills which seems to go against the grain. Another book that looked better in my opinion was creatures of the tropical wastes.
