>>97366983I know this is either bait or underage b& but. . .The game state does progress when counterspells are used. First player burns a threat, second player burns interaction, both players presumably play land drops. Presumably the counter spell player benefits from games going longer and resolving higher quality spells, which is why they do it. The threat player wants to overload counter magic/removal and punch through, often by having their early plays get countered and curving into a bigger threat, or by having early plays stick and pressure the opponent turn over turn.

>>97362049>Did the first iterations develop in such a way that revealed inherent structural weaknesses?yes in the sense that there was little structural development to speak of. the actual game design didn't occur until 2024ish.>but because I suck at maths, finding the sweet spot for bonuses and balancing stats for asymmetrical point values has been very hit and miss.i started by sorting them into tiers based on much immediate card advantage effects caused. if you know the ones that are clearly the most powerful and clearly the weakest, you can start to fill in a hierarchy and then adjust cost weights from there.for example picrel is the current weighting iteration of card effects in the game (as translated into card costs)
>>97362543Seems rational.Given the nature of my project I'm gonna need to build a similar sort of matrix, so I can cross-reference the value weight of different stats and bonuses when prototyping a unit.

been working on finalizing the card redesign instead of the wiki. some changes regarding general gameplay:1.) Tapping for combat seems to pace the game better. Tapping (by effect or combat) also reduces stat by 1 until untap.2.) Triangle effects now tap in addition to being - stat.3.) Energies played from your hand are "put" instead of "Projected" (like MTG lands). this only matters if you are making a deck that abuses energy removal.the wiki needs to be updated to reflect these and some other changes, and it also need to be generally cleaned up. i'm using a pure html wiki right now (no database), so it has minimal functionality, but it's simple.the new card templates are basically done. i'm making 2x45 card starter decks with the new templates.

>>97368007At the same time, she became friends with Lirwyn Nieth, two Jedi frequently debating certain points of Jedi Code, with Lirwyn successfully smoothing some of the edges that Neela began to develop. But some were known to say that Lirwyn's influence wasn't entirely beneficial, as she seems to have also sown some doubts in Neela's mind regarding the direction that the Jedi Order was heading. Regardless, Dyr proved to be a supremely capable fighter and a good leader, her skills and loyalty to the Republic quickly putting her in good graces of both Republic Command and the clones, who couldn't help but respect the fervor with which Neela was throwing herself into the thick of combat again and again, her wrath and frequent use of destructive Force techniques bordering on being decidedly un-Jedi-like. Her taking on Roona Feyn as her Padawan was meant to both help Roona grow as a warrior, and give Neela someone who would remind her of kinder and nobler ideals. Dyr quickly grew to like her pupil, even if she wasn't the kindest mentor. At some point, Neela came into contact with Rear Admiral Zenosia, and the two formed a bond of mutual respect and trust, both being loyal to the Republic and not afraid to get their hands dirty when needed. Zenosia supplied Dyr with information, and Neela acted as the enforcer of the Republican law, eventually earning the privilege of commanding an Acclamator "Gaoler". Used to secure and transport prisoners of war, it nevertheless was deployed on many different missions, from evacuating civilians to guarding medical stations. As the war raged on, Neela became increasingly comfortable with grim realities of war - something that Lirwyn fervently warned against while Zenosia wholeheartedly endorsed. The Miraluka, already struggling to contain her boiling rage at the injustice and chaos she saw everywhere, was more receptive to Zenosia's words. Rear Admiral, for her part, greatly enjoyed having a Jedi so willing to work with her.
>>97368011When Order 66 came, Neela was left with nothing. Her friend Lyrwin, her padawan Roona - lost in the chaos of Empire's rise. And what of the Rear Admiral? Dead or switched sides? Master Astros-Kyn is most certainly dead. Lost and uncertain, Neela Dyr, despite her outwardly stoic and cold attitude, is teetering on the very brink of giving in to the Dark Side and going on a frenzied rampage against everything she perceives as unjust.I'll be taking my bonus points for writing the lore, thank you very much.

>>97367405Summer 2027 my friend. Though like >>97367410 alluded to, if tow gets bumped up like horus heresy was we end up with 4 major systems all on a 3 year cycle, which means they'll need to get creative. It seems like a lot of the playerbase would like a 4 year cycle instead, but I get the feeling gw's finance guys aren't so happy about that idea.
>>97366273So what? Are AoS Chorfs not allowed to be different than WFB Chorfs in this regard? Chaos battletomes are full of lore on slavery, slaves being used for building chaos monuments, slaves being sacrificed etc. Anon would have a point by pointing out there are no units named 'slaves' nowadays but now it's too late for that.
>>97367405Just play the superior edition instead. Wahapedia has all the 2nd edition rules so you don't even need to find books or fuck with erratas. If you feel frisky you can even play the 1st edition but that requires a bit more effort.
Does anyone here play stormcast? I'm seeing a great offer on ebay, essentially a full army for pocket change, so to speak. Includes the spearhead I think. Anyway, I'm wondering how stormcast play, as I'm not very familiar with aos. They look pretty sturdy and elite, but looks can be deceiving so I thought I'd ask first.

I'm new to Pathfinder 2e. How do I make an effective druid and what are the best spells in the Primal tradition?
>>97367015Generally as long as you avoid Untamed Druid (its workable but it ends up very vanilla, both compared to previous game iterations and other gish builds in PF2e), you pretty much set from the beginning. Storm Druid is the best of the lot, but you really can't go wrong with most other Druid options as long as you just play smart and understand that you are the generalist of the group. Some good spells to focus on include>Electric Arc>Needle Darts>500 Toads>Heal>Sacred Beasts>Lose the Path>Tailwind>Soothing Blossoms>Sticky Fire>Cave Fangs>Coral Explosion>Mad Monkeys (more memey than good but funny enough to pull at least once)Comment too long. >>97367439>it ends up a very vanilla beaterpardon, missed some words there. Untamed Druid is *statistically* fine if you properly scale upwards the feat chain, but it isn't doing anything a real martial would be doing, and PF2e's action economy means you can't really switch-hit with shapeshifting like you could get away with in D&D5e. There's no Circle of the Moon buff that grants you spells while shapeshifted either so...

Are there any tabletop RPGs similar in style to the classic video game Baroque?
>>97364932>>97365668
>>97367138It's funny how sane that video makes it seem. The information in the game is delivered in a completely (and essentially random) different order, and you have to piece it together while eliminating the various lies. He is also only delivering one interpretation of one version of the game, built on information that's not in the game itself and its debatable how canon it is (especially since some of the information is contradicted in other versions and related media). He probably would have had to make a five hour long video if he really wanted a comprehensive examination of the basic "plot" and all its potential interpretations.I'm actually more familiar with the remake, which adds a lot of information in the game itself while making getting that information an incredibly convoluted process (that ultimately only delivers garbled bits of text that can never be fully trusted), and also adds a new ending, more floors/events, and rewrites certain characters. I think it's fair to say that Baroque is purposefully vague and ultimately inconsistent thanks to multiple people with shifting ideas over the nearly thirty years since the game began.I wish the video went a bit more into the more unique items/monsters/dungeon features. A lot of the game feels fairly basic and repetitive, but then it occasionally throws something at you that can completely rewrite how the game works. My favorite example of this is the Vampire Sword, an incredibly rare weapon that many people never even see in their playthroughs, which completely reworks how you can progress in power while only having a vague description of what it actually does.
After reading all this, I doubt you can actually do something like that on the tabletop, unless your group is up for it. I guess most groups would soon get bored out of dying to the same hard dungeon on repeat.
>>97367719Isn't the remake generally considered to be worse than the Saturn? I know it has a censored script (even in the Japanese version, it's not a localization thing).
>>97367769Better in some ways, worse in others. The remake is easier on the player in a lot of ways (lots of QoL improvements, easier controls/perspective), but they also threw in some tougher challenges towards the end while also giving the player a lot more bullshit to do if they're mad enough to try and 100% the game. The remake actually gets a bit cringey at times thanks to its voice acting and how dated its art style and GFX has become, but about 20% of the designs are an improvement over their originals.
It is probably not too controversial to say that the art of modern rulebooks is made with female representation in mind. These women are predominantly filling important roles, such as archmages, military officers, or nobles. But how come there is barely any art that shows them in peril, or at a clear disadvantage? Regardless of their status. There is no shortage of men in peril.Neither in classic nor in modern art.
>>97360816Yeah, but that's the point of this, your mission is to prevent women from getting hurt.
