It is the other way around, sci-fi is a spin-off of fantasy
>>

Where tf are the nanomachines, AI or gods in the dying earth?
>>
>>97355294

Destroyed with the fall of civilization and soon total human extinction.
>>
>>97355191
It used to be a thing.
>>
>>97355303
Ok but the implication was that nanomachines and gods had something to do with magic in the present day which isn't the case at all in the Dying Earth.

I had no idea there was so much hate towards the Verbena. I was just thinking of a character concept based on the vvitch movie from 2015 about witches who try to initiate people into their culture by first destroying all attachments they may have. But why is such a tradition so reviled? I don't see them that much different from the hermetics or the cult of ecstasy.
>>
>>97354774
Vigil/Deviant, for sure I think.

> Canonically Jabba has a presence there because Gardulla (the female Hutt you can see behind Jabba in TPM) created the Boonta Eve on Tatooine using Damask's money in order to slowly try and gain power from under Jabba's influence,
Well that, and I thought I remember reading somewhere that Jabba also wasn’t exactly “welcome” in polite Hutt society… I think he had a reputation for being more lecherous and deviant than was considered socially acceptable within Hutt society.

>>
>>97354683
obviously the out of setting reason is that people are monkeys and will always go back to whats familiar. Full on membah berries more often than not.
Also I half doubt most events regarding tatooine are even recorded anywhere. 'oh revan put a star map on tatooine? if you say so'
>>
>>97353960
Tatooine's importance makes sense in the Lucas films
It doesn't in other media
>>
>>97354683
I suppose Tatooine appears more prominent to us because how often it shows up in secondary media due to OT nostalgia, but in-universe there's stuff constantly happening on thousands of other planets as well but we don't get to see it. Most of the times Tatooine appears and isn't directly related to the Skywalkers it's some variation of "some dude went there and shot some sand people and stuff while on some mission", which isn't something that would really catch the galaxy's attention. One of the Rakaata star maps was there in KOTOR, but there were some on other planets there so that isn't an exclusive Tatooine thing.

I’ve started a fanfiction based on this image. In it Settra the Imperishable got his last living descendant magically summon to his capital. I’m looking for something good to read that gives more insight into Settra beyond his most memorable moments—something that shows what he enjoys, his future plans for his people, how he interacts with the living, and his broader goals. I know High Queen Khalida appears in *Gotrek and Felix*, and got an amount of living followers who serve her, but I’d like a better sense of Settra’s character outside of emergencies or badass situations, like when someone steals his hat and he chases it even into the Frozen North. And yes I'm ready for Warhammer the old world in order to get a better grip on the guy.Serious I'm ready to read anything novels Army books campaign books whatever to get a better sense of him along with Herald Nekaph as a person..

>>
>>97351257
Who is the last 'living' descendent based on this image? Because the girl has Vampire Fangs, so I'm doubting she's living at all. Plus I'm sure that Settra was probably a Genghis Khan type event on the gene pool in his time, so there's probably thousands of descendent lines.

So I will name instead Herr Seth Unvergänglich, a merchant grocer of Nuln who specialises in 'soll-grown' produce of exceptional quality and longevity.

Talking about a guy who became a mage not because it was natural to his family or he was born with such abilities but because he was pissed off other people could do stuff he could not.

>>97352203
Don't forget in the early stages of he just became king Settra sacrifice his children to the Gods that he had at that point and his dynasty didn't survive two generations at the he died in charge of the what he control also most people who might have been his Descendants on now Probably Rank and file people of the Tomb Kings I have been flushed out his last living descendants full back sorry but he wasn't implied to have Jest a whole bunch of kids all over the place. So I'm going with can you Jews after the great Necromancer there wasn't many of his descendants left.

Previous Thread: >>97090196

Welcome to /un0/, an RP thread for playing a World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness Hunter. For any OOC questions about WoD/CofD, check the official general. >>97224887

Rules:
>We are acephale. There is no storyteller, we are not a quest.
>This thread is based primarily but not exclusively in the nWoD/CofD game Hunter: the Vigil. However, Vigil is defined by being highly setting agnostic, with a system for creating entirely custom monsters that do not exist in other WoD/CofD games. Thus, you have significant freedom in what you want to play and what you want to hunt. Feel free to play a member of the Society of Leopold, or a member of the Lucifuge hot on the tail of a Lasombra.
>Namefagging is encouraged but by no means mandatory.
>Keep in mind that even highly experienced Hunters typically only have fractured pieces of the puzzle, and every table has their own canon. The night is dark and full of misinformation.
>/un0/ is conceived of as an experimental end to end encrypted program that is very hard to compromise, retains very little data and purges that data regularly. Please play an actual Hunter.
>Spoiler any OOC discussion.

Happy hunting.
Unless this thread somehow takes off like a rocket, this will be the last un0 thread for the foreseeable future. Towards the end of the thread, please give your feedback in regard to these shorter, limited run RP threads.

So you reject the notion that a supernatural being, even if they began their existence as a normal human being like you or I, could ever be good or even benign?

Why? Is there something about being supernatural itself that makes these people become ontologically evil?

What edition of BB should I play? Not sure if the new one is any good. I’m mostly interested with starting with Sevens, probably gonna play vamps. My buddy has Necromantic Horrors. I’m pretty green to the whole thing. I know vamps are very random, but I’m pretty okay with that, sounds silly.

Do you guys reckon the next big 'munda release will be another "zone Necromunda" game? It's pretty wierd that there's been 2 AoS warhammer quests back to back, and I'm starting to wonder if the Underhells box is to be considered an alternative. That would kinda explain how the whole thing feels pretty tacked on to regular Necromunda
>>
>>97355276
Maybe, but I kinda hope we just get a new gang with a proper faction book out the gate. I think we have enough settings to play with for now.

NTA, but it was the devs who started the numinous trend, the most egregious case being "for a numinous reason, city fathers take after their cities".
>>
>>97354908
I get that, but it's obviously being used sarcastically to deride what seems like an honest effort to amusingly actually make the setting more numinous as per its real definition. Braindead posting

"Show, don't tell", saying something is numinous, doesn't make it so; the devs just wrote a bunch of empty mystery boxes.

Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work). Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have!

Its because a lot of people have no social skills and have to play retail, which leads to Stockhold Syndrome in which they openly begin to support bad practices as the alternative in their eyes is not playing.
