NTA but the best thing to do is to use short but evocative declarative statements. What exactly do you have trouble with?
>>
>>97371552
Mostly having trouble getting different art styles. It's obvious what model made them because the new models have a distinct 'look'. Like I can try to gen in the style of 70s fantasy paintings, and instead it looks like Dall-e or gpt.
>>
>>97371654
That's one of the advantages of Perchance to be honest, if using Bing I recommend the era first, the style or artist next, & the materials after that. Then push for things that reinforce those styles, like when I did Mignola stuff I mention "lopsided & angular" "flat muted colors" & "dark contrasting shadows"

This is
>1970's fantasy portrait in the style of Frank Frazetta, gouache & ink

boring answer, but both can be cool in a variety of ways. What I'd like to se more of still big elves powers in the process of rapid decline or more outright collapse. I feel that hasn't been represented much.

Also nice Piro OP

So? Arcane recovery exists if you need to cast it again and take short rest. The amount of times you should be down a slot due to mage armor are so few, it shouldn't even be part of the conversation.

my DM is really great! I wouldn't say she is completely immune against the woke stuff, but it's more like she does whatever she wants with her world. Which in the end is just fun!
Immediately after that we went underwater solely for a political discussion between our boss and the mermaids/tritons, where the princess was sold immediately. Even my stomach turned a bit with all the slavery talk there.
>>
>>97371961
Depictions of slavery aren’t an endorsement. I think a lot of games should add a bit more edge. The world is edgier than 99% of fantasy worlds.

So I bought this as I really like Conan 2d20 System and I was surprised that system appears to be very rules lite compared to Conan 2d20 or WHFR 4E and a lot of rules and stuff appears to be on GM to flesh out. Usually i pay for RPG books because i don't want to figure out how much damage or to hit modifier some fancy sword has but in Dune core rulebook, its precisely that, book demands that i figure it out instead of giving me stat blocks.
may be its just I'm retarded, or this system is lazy slop cashing in on movie craze?
>>
>>97370135
I'm afraid it might be a cash-in.
>>
>>97370135
I was never able to figure out how wounds worked in the system. It felt like a page of the rules was missing.

Oh nice. These are the guys who did Star Trek Adventures, which I think is fuckin' rad. It's very much roleplay focused w/ action decided through tests that further a narrative, rather than crunchy stats. Star Trek is, I mean. I liked the way it set up scenes as decision points as the adventure progresses.

Haven't read their Dune, though. Star Trek was easy because it's intentionally reproducing the TV Episode format. So sessions/adventures had a flow that they were supposed to follow.

The fact that it's Modiphius gives me enough confidence that I'd like to read it. I love the Herbert-Dune. Can't say what it's like. If they've gone w/ the no-crunch sorta style Star Trek Adventures does, then I think that the secret sauce is going to be "how are adventures set up?" I'd start by reading that section, OP. If it's crystal clear how an adventure can/is-supposed-to flow and puts that on solid ground for the GM, then I'd assume it'll work very well like STA does. If it's more "I dunno like D&D but in Dune and stuff" without any crunch? I'd be nervous about it.
>>
>>97370135
I don't know if it's good, but I know I'm definitely not interested in it.

Skip tracers are your debt collectors and repo men, so I’m really having a hard time parsing out that kind of work with a “cocky” attitude. I think paladins usually have a good balance of small but important divine powers that are used to supplement their physical abilities

This isn't really based on anything, but I always thought divine powers shouldn't be "at-will" for anyone but actual divine entities such as angels. Instead, it should require prayer or just plain getting worked up with zealous fervor, and such power scales the more manic the user's current mental state is.

Wizards can cast straight out of a book with their reagents. It's mystical, but has an element of academia/scientific methodology to it.

Divine users have to genuinely channel the divinity of their patron gods by aligning their mind and spirit with them, and that's incredibly difficult to do at all hours of the day. Rather, it comes in bursts during important moments like feeling deep compassion for the sick and injured, or righteous indignation against a wicked enemy.

Those sorts of thematic differences are important because they're character informing, rather than necessarily because the mechanics of it play out dramatically different.

>whine about the points in root
>when it's very obvious that the points are merely an abstraction of "how well you're doing with your factions point generator"
We've been over this many times. "How well you're doing with your factions point generator" is:
A) Not correct, because it is actually "how well you did at some point(-s) in the game even though you might now be in the shitter"
2) It doesn't represent any thematic endpoint or board state and is thus entirely meaningless.

We could go into examples of other games to compare and contrast, but as someone who references this kind of whining you've certainly been part of these threads enough to be able to respond and didn't.

I will once again use the Vagabond as an example though, because it is the peak of this issue. Not only do specific aspects make no sense - such as why doing quests repeatedly inflates their VP value - when you zoom out, the entire character makes no sense.
A) The Vagabond is one guy against 3 other factions.
B) A vagabond victory doesn't come from any coherent thematic concept. You could try to cope that it represents an equilibrium between other factions where "nobody wins", but you'll be hard pressed to explain what that has to do with building sheds and making speeches for 3VP a pop.
C) While the Vagabond's VP gain scales up, his relative power in thematic terms is actually DECREASING since other factions are growing more powerful and actually changing the board state in a way that represents their "might", per the game's subtitle.

So no, it's a critical flaw in the game design, and other issues, such as the at this point accepted fact that the game is just a kingmaking simulator, stem directly from it.

It's a near universal fairy trait in that region of the world. For a variety of reasons various unsavory magical people living in the woods constantly kidnap children. sometimes they leave a changeling, but usually they just steal the kid.

Trolls kidnap children in Scandanavia
Fairies kidnap children in Ireland
Hags kidnap children in the UK

That was the one thing that had people skeptical of it being a set. Being otherwise perfect MTG adjacent magical fantasy, there's only 4 bendable elements vs 5 mana colors, but whatever I think they made due just fine with the evil characters, creatures and spirits making up black cards.

3-1 with this right now (loss was hullbreacher wheeling), but it's a bit too controlling for my tastes. All of the games have been so grindy, including my opponent literally milling out due to lack of threats once.
Still gem-positive 8 drafts in, so things are going well. RW is a less reliable deck though (it was still 4-7 wins for free even if you missed last iteration), which makes it a little trickier

I really fucking hated the Avatar set even beyond other UB because the art is so fucking cartoony and childish. I HATE children.

Why can't Druids wield bows?

>bow: wood
>arrow: wood
>arrowhead: bone or flint

Even crossbows can be made wholly of wood and shoot bone-tipped bolts. If anything, making these things actually requires very good understanding of trees and properties of wood.
Regardless of all that, the whole non-metal theme is a meme. If you can cook stuff in a bronze cauldron, you should be allowed to use a bronze helmet too.

>druids are based on Muslims
I have no idea how you could draw this conclusion.
Druids are named after what they are based on: the priests of Celtic societies in Western Europe from Antiquity.
The Romans wrote about who the druids were extensively.
Weapon restrictions/specific weapon proficiencies on druids are kind of a sacred cow from early D&D.
>>
>>97369151
Except you are wrong, and/or spouting tired old fanfiction. Druids are based on the christian depiction of a Muslim cleric. A nature worshiping almost-zealot. that carries scimitars into combat.
>>
>>97371748
How do we know that's not a depiction of a Mongol or Eastern European?

It is probably not too controversial to say that the art of modern rulebooks is made with female representation in mind.

These women are predominantly filling important roles, such as archmages, military officers, or nobles.
But how come there is barely any art that shows them in peril, or at a clear disadvantage? Regardless of their status.

There is no shortage of men in peril.
Neither in classic nor in modern art.
