Wait, maybe I'm getting it now. So some effects make you take double success on some numbers, and if you have multiples of the same you go down, but every number above that is also doubled. I was thinking only the specified number would be doubled.
>>97375153>This got funny in essence, with the Dragon-Blooded power levels.>It is OK for Dragon-Blooded to be so close in power to celestials, since PCs are genius DBs!!!>DB NPCs use the same charms.>Oh, well...they tried to pull that with Solars too and how your PC's are super special Solar Exalted who can achieve Essence 4/5 so much faster when others can't
>>97390799This excuse is used for pcs in general; the time balance of the game is broken both IRL and in universe.
>>97390842This isn't inherently a problem. Well, Essence flattening the power curve is but that's solvable
>>97390485>>97390632>I was under the impression that anything from 7 to 9 is a success anyway, are lower rolls always better? On a normal roll, 7-9 is one success and 10 is two successes, which is to say that by default 10s are doubled. Having double 9s means that rolling a 9 or 10 counts as two successes, double 8s means that rolling 8s through to 10s counts as two successes, and double 7s means that rolling 7 through to 10 counts as two successes each.By default, if you roll ten dice and score one of each number 1-10, you score five successes (7 8 9 = 3, 10 = 5). If you have double 7s you would score eight successes. This is also about how the averages work, so if you're assigning difficulties to an action keep in mind that by default it takes someone with twice the number of dice as the Difficulty to succeed about 60% of the time. Six dice is likely to meet Difficulty 3, ten dice has about a 60% chance of meeting Difficulty 5, and so on. With double 7s those same six dice are likely to meet Difficulty 5, and ten dice are likely to beat Difficulty 7.
Tabletop RPGs tend to split up crafting into a high number of crafting subskills for every individual area of expertise. There's no question that crafting is still extremely powerful despite forcing you to go through this hassle, but what are your thoughts on which particular crafting subskills tend to be the most useful in the context of a TTRPG campaign, be it a medieval or modern or sci-fi setting?Pic related is from Legend of the Five Rings, where I'll be playing a crafter soon, and I intend to invest heavily into crafting. But feel free to talk about any game you've had experience with.
>>97364176>A character focused entirely on crafting can be perfectly balanced with any other concept in a game designed by professionals instead of incompetent retards.Name five games where this has actually been achieved.
>>97364176Crafting is powerful and this doesn't depend on the game. As long as you're playing a human being, regardless of the size of their ears, crafting is the single most powerful thing they can do.
Crafting is not a major issue in my system, because wealth doesn't translate directly into power. Player characters only need vast amounts of wealth if they want to improve their social standing, if they like the idea of engaging in businesses, buying warships to become privateers or something similar to that.
>>97369009Being a good GM means being able to respond to unexpected player actions. Remember that the TTRPG hobby started out as expansion packs to wargames which were added to simulate fantasy adventures rather than battles with pre-determined starting conditions.
>>97383734That's some real nigga shit, right there.

Do you read the source material or just let some e-celeb yawn on about whatever garbage they want to spin?
>>97388841never thought they would nerf that instead of instances of super damage or enemy nullification wombo combos
>>97389120Most of the 2e community agree that the 2e Mythic system is very undertuned and underbaked, even for 2e standards. Though it wasn't about trying to nerf the "broken" parts of 1e so much as actually making it function as a system by not having it stuck in an AP subsystem. >>97388841I mostly agree with this, but I do want to acknowledge the powercurve of 2e in general. Low-level feats are just that, low-level. They are meant to be more practical or lowkey then character defining. And this applies to the Mythic system as well, you aren't going to expect a power to scale like Aerial Assault if its not a distinct spell or class power.2e can be pretty No Fun Allowed but I think there has to be more a middleground between "oi you god a loicense to be cool tuday!?" and "free 10d6 goomba stomp every round".
>>97389408Ignoring the mythic system is still incredible feat/magic item/level intensive in 2e to come close to what you could easily do athletically/acrobatically in 1e
>>97389434That's just a true statement, I am very certain a point was to make sure you can't. By default, a "full-round action" to move in 2e is far more freeing, if less multiplicative than a full Run/Charge in 1e. But I also think neither game was ever trying to be Exalted, there are diminishing returns to high degrees of athleticism on both player and GM. You can only make a mountain so high, especially for the one person that builds for it in your campaign. And unless you houserule how move actions work to work like they do in D&D5e, you not only waste all your additional movement as you can't skirmish, you lose out on other full-round actions.Nothing in 2e is supposed to be as easy to accomplish in 1e. Either it is meant to be more an investment to compensate for the streamlining of core systems, or not applicable at all because they are two different games and have two different balancing points.

>>97390960GW plastic kits are, quality-wise, somewhere around 2010 at best, compared to scale models.
>>97390993I just find it hard to believe that they haven't learned to layer detail in a way that covers and prevents this kind of stuff yet. It comes off very much like they don't care.
>>97391010>It comes off very much like they don't care.Yes. It's the same reason why every reputable scale model manufacturer can do these things and more (including something seemingly completely alien to GW, like casting tubes in one piece, like tank cannons), while GW continues to march onward with their snail pace. Asking for higher prices than Meng or Takom while delivering kits that are like five times worse in every regard. Then again, we are all to blame, since we still buy their stuff.
>>97387438Sometimes I use "The big wash" where I borderline pour it on. It can make a cream cloak into a yellow one better than any layering.Other times I do gap filling with milliput after the basecoat and wash. It's easier to see gaps like that. Then I just paint over it and wash it. This also lets me do arms in assembly betterPainting on contrast and then painting that with medium while it's already on the figure to make it flow good and become a wash. This works wonders on shieldsTo do straps and webbing I paint black, then white on the top, then wash really heavy black on the sides and top, then white again.I cut integrated bases off and only base after a figure is fully painted. I also fully build and paint each base before gluing a figure on.Sometimes I wash a colour with the exact opposite shade to make it duller instead of mixing paints. This works well.Technical paints can be washes if you force them to be.

>>97391037I haven't played since the end of November because most of our group is dealing with peak shipping season. We just got done with six day work weeks.the missing Elder happened before we even took this mission, our sept doesn't have a ton of manpower but there are more experienced Garou trying to get leads on it atm while we clear out taint
>>97391025Gaia was retarded herself or made all the spirits retarded as a joke.
>>97391025There was no failure. Spirits do what they do because that's what they are. You wouldn't consider a hammer to be a bad hammer just because it can't do precision surgery. Asking a spirit to betray their nature is like asking rain to fall up. Even if that would somehow help the rain worshippers it can't do that, because if it falls up it's not longer rain.

>>97390379>>97390428I have heard the term half-feats before, as a way to refer to some of the weaker ones that also gave you an ASI. But it's a really dumb way to phrase it in 2024, because now the distinction doesn't really exist in the same way. All feats except origin feats give an ASI, but calling the weaker set of starter feats 'full feats' and the stronger set 'half- eats' is just misleading

>>97337142Foul Spawn/Hell Spawn are an interesting monster race given that they have multiple forms similar to insect races, but they have no societal structure and their forms are randomly determined rather than inherited.
