>>97373557i featured them in demon the fallen as lucifers personal knights (and wetworkers) that he couldn't summon before the week of nightmares because they got locked up extra tight. but now that the prison got a bunch of holes in them a group of luciferans tried and succededWar and Famine became consumed by torment and ran amok. Conquest turned himself into the leader of the luciferans and made it his goal to kill War, Famine and the Archdukes while Death kinda just fucked off to deal with the zombie apocalypse in the background and kill giovanni
>>97373571The Inferno: The Possessed sourcebook has a bunch of demon-lore that would probably work best for those four.
>>97373081Depends on what you're looking for. I'm only familiar with the VtM ones. There's some good ideas, but they can often be really railroady. For example, Fountains of Bright Crimson, a VTDA premade set in Jerusalem has its plot hinge on a vital lead being cutscene-killed by an Assamite despite the potential for PCs to theoretically have enough auspex to spot the 'mite, and the victim being a knight from a clan with Fortitude, aka the only discipline that could give him a tiny chance to survive an aggravated damage sneak attack. I ended up having to rewrite a lot because I hate railroading and hey, the overstatted Assamite rolled poorly, so the dude narrowly survived. Despite that, there's a lot of interesting stuff going on and it lets the PCs have a brush with the power of an Antediluvian. For modern nights stuff, I like some of the Chicago premades. While setting-specific, you could theoretically rewrite them for other cities relatively easily. There's one about the PCs being caught in a literal chess game between two Methuselah, and unlike most Methuselah plots, they aren't completely impotent. Their actions influence which Methuselah wins, even if the chess players are too strong for them to directly fight outside of a fluke of the dice. If you want something wild, there's one premade story about a holocaust survivor that blames vampires for the third reich, and is working on an anti-vampire bioweapon. Fun to have a hunter who is a frail old man relying entirely on his intellect. I'd stay away from most of the Revised era premades, since the PCs spend a lot more time being passive observers to metaplot updates.
>>97373081I've read good things about the OG Chicago by Night/Ashes to Ashes, though I'm not sure if the V20 Dust to Dust kept that quality. Other recommendations I've seen are Giovanni Chronicles and Diablerie Mexico, personally I can attest throwing newbies into Blood Nativity while making sure to keep the pre-embrace scenes brief makes for a fun time of "you're a vampire, now what?" before the coterie gets in trouble and you throw the Sheriff at them.
>>97373688I remember an anon recommending an adventure where your coterie was converted at a lab of some kind and you were trying to find your sire and understand your clan, so the adventure let you play around with starting disciplines as sort of soft-caitiffs. It was pretty interesting but I don't remember the name or if the guy himself made it

How much would/should changing the default setting from High Medieval to Late Bronze Age change the game? For example, lowering AC across the board to simulate the lack of general armour. How much would that affect balance?
>>97369712It's is the time of the ethnogenesis of Europe and of our oldest stories.
>>97369712The aesthetic is very cool, plus the fact that ancient empires were actually very urban and populated makes for a lot of intrigue among the common folk. I think conan nails the feeling despite being in a fictional near medieval setting. >>97369808Also this
>>97369712Bronze is prettier than iron.
>>97350722Even if you wanted to use D&D for this for some reason, you could pretty safely just remove heavy armor, and then make it so any class with proficiency in heavy armor can use Strength in place of Dex when calculating AC for medium armor along with getting the Defense fighting style for free.Nothing else about the game really changes as a result. Certainly nothing that meaningfully changes the balance of the game anyway.
>>97350722>ACwhy would you even consider D&D for bronze age fantasy instead of something like runequest?

has anyone given though to the state of mathematics in fantasy settings and how it affects the setting and characters in it? e.g.>tribes in not!Africa struggle with trade because they can't count past 2>how traders to calculation to determine prices, risk, etc>how well astronomers understand the motion of the heavens>how the characters think (i.e. logically, or numerically, or in a poetic / non-mathematical way)
>>97367640>>tribes in not!Africa struggle with trade because they can't count past 2As far as I know, this is a lot more common in South America and Australia than in Africa.
>>97367640Not in fantasy, but I did have first contact between two of my sci-fi species be weird because the first thing they did to try and communicate (no universal translators in setting) was send prime numbers to each other.Except for one species, the first eight prime numbers are:>1,2,3,5,7,11,13,17While for the other the first eight are:>2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19That's right, one of them considers "1" prime and the other doesn't. Basically the former just don't mind the fact that all of the theorems involving prime numbers have to say "except for 1". The latter think that they're *lunatics*.So far neither has made contact with any other species so they don't know whether it's common for 1 to be considered prime or not.
>>97367969You are in no place to give that advice.
>>97372817yes, but the truly primitive (e.g. piraha) have no concept of time, nor do they care.as for civilizations, accurate timekeeping has been a relatively recent development. also, most people would probably not have cared much until the industrial revolution and the creation of shift labor. basically, a a peasant needs to know what day it is, a factory worker needs to know the hour (so that he can start his shift on time), and I need to know what minute it is in order to make it to my next zoom meeting on time.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_timekeeping_devices
>>97367888>In my games setting magic and the technology that would allow for automation can't co-exist, as the chaotic reality manipulating nature of magic would interfere and break stuff purely running on the laws of physics. (not the most original idea, but at least it explains why things have been in medieval stasis for so long)Fine, I'll bite. How? Since technology is just exploiting natural chemical and motion based principles already baked in to nature. If "thing pushes other thing" suddenly broke down, your entire body would suddenly fall apart in to it's base components. The real answer is the tainted work of the hand of man thanks to man being sinful. Magic is closer in purity to the uncorrupt world prior to the fall. Also what makes it so dangerous. Much in the same way that anyone who looks upon the Lord would die instantly. Or how touching the Ark of the Covenant would kill someone instantly. Harnessing magic takes extra measures.
Every once in a while there's a thread popping up about how badass and stronger 40k's setting is, but big time professional question ironically raised by an autistic friend of mine at the pub yesterday:Could the Imperium sucessfully afford to invade and take over Kirby's planet?
>>97368786>Could the Imperium sucessfully afford to invade and take over Kirby's planet?Yes, absolutely.>Could the Imperium hold Pop Star once Kirby woke up and decided it was a problem?Absolutely fucking not.

>>97373252>Death Battle is cancerTrue.>they lied to you, Kirby is not that strongFalse. Name the weakest setting you think can beat Kirby.
>>97368786This one: >>97373160The Imperium could absolutely take Pop Star up until the point Kirby notices and eliminates them. Kirby is EXTREMELY powerful, but he isn't omnipotent (he's actually kind of stupid) and he's quite lazy. Kirby's desire to "solve a problem" is directly proportionate to how much it's personally inconveniencing himself, his lifestyle, or his immediate friends. Once Kirby "locks on" to a problem though, he's like a pit bull: he won't let go until he's completely resolved the situation, as he understands it. >>97369816>>97370105>>97372575What people don't really understand about Kirby is that his power over Empathy means he has to match power escalation. Kirby, canonically, possess an infinite source of power, but it's entirely reactionary: King Dedede stealing all the food in Dreamland (the province, not the planet/country), and then challenging to a boxing match, is just as much of a "threat" to Kirby as that Gene-Stealing Super Organism in the recent game wot tried to kill Kirby by dropping a planet on the planet he was occupying. These are equally difficult situations for Kirby. >>97372575>>97373233Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

>>97372510>What are some things DCGO gets wrong? I was interested in trying it,I believe a major one is how it processes attacking procedures.something like EoT DNA into CS Omni can attack twice with Matt and Tai when it should only be once.and "This digimon may attack" effects dont work quite right either. Specifically, they're not tapping to swing right away when it matters for some decks
>>97373134yeah they don't process individual effects as an actual whole individual effect and others effects can interrupt it.this is especially egregious with the "this digimon may attack effects" as you mentioned.most of the time this is the problem, a lot of people play this wrong in person as well and sometimes make mistakes about it, but its usually pretty minor, dcgo does it in a lot of really bad ways.for example if you jogress into aegisdramon with plesiomon effect, you would attack before aegisdramonas when digivolving would even activate, since you are still resolving the plesio effect.but DCGO makes you do the when digivolving and all other effects from the evo and what it plays out on play before resolving the attack from the plesio effect.so aegisdramon on dcgo just doesn't get to unsuspend it self from its on evo playing out a seadra and you miss out on like 1/3 of your attacks from the jogress.chaosdramon has the same issue but its less relevant for the deck because the timing it resolves them doesn't really matterthe omnimon + matt & tai issue I think got fixed but it was a brute force solution that didn't actually fix why it was happening.they have some problems with vortex eot ordering as well
>>97373207>yeah they don't process individual effects as an actual whole individual effect and others effects can interrupt it.To be fair that's because there ARE interruptive effects in digimon and those fuckups are basically concessions to the fact that they had to code for interruptives (protection mostly)
>>97373235yeah but interruptive effects are uncommon enough that you can just specifically flag them and don't let other effects activate.this is only a problem if you didn't think through what you were making and these were band-aids to late additions to the game you needed to design around to make work, which isn't the case at all. you know interruptive effects exist, you should design you sim around them, no other card game simulators have this issue despite having more complex state based activation.this isn't an "oops an off by 1 error snuck through" its a failure at the fundamental design level
