>>97353596That does look pretty silly. It's going to be hard to get an accurate, scary-looking spidertank from that angle. Good luck to ya. >>97344438The game is old-school and assumes the GM has a brain large enough to comprehend that certain upper and lower limits have to be set at the beginning of the game, tailored to the part of the world and power level the GM is expecting to run, not "Make any PC from any of the 100 books, I don't care lol".
>>97353752Best? The space one from mutants in orbit.Worst glitter girl. Of the real ones, the black markwt non glitter "shodow boy" is truly the worstHere is the crazy SA one
>>97353752Triax 2 Fat Boy and Hell Angel seem like strict upgrades for their specialties. Taurus seems like kind of a joke but I once played a character using the chassis for the extra gun mount, putting a classic boom gun on one shoulder and the Silver Wolf particle beam on the other (presuming dual fire-linked classic boom guns is too much for it to handle).
>>97353752I think the republican glitterboy mark 3 deserves some mention as technically the worst, as its just an augmented EBA suit. So it is thus the weakest stat wise and its built in weapons are the lowest damage.>>97357148Hey! The Shadow Boys strength is market availability and savings!
Could it work in a /tg/ context? Say you used the Damaging Objects rules from the d20 System.
>>97353484Because buildings don't tend to fight back, so designing encounters around attacking buildings rather than active enemies is sorta boring.Demolishing buildings can normally wait until all the enemy are dead, and if you have the resources, knowhow and unlimited time to work; rolling damage against the building is a pointless waste of time out of combat, and the DM should instead determine simply how long it takes.Abstracting a building's HP only makes sense if you are trying to destroy a structure while in combat with actual enemies, where time would be of the essence, or a particular piece of building collapsing could be used to your advantage. However, if you have enough firepower to level a building, chances are you're better off applying it directly to the target, assuming a D&D-like game.Rules for destroying terrain are best used for wargames, particularly ones with modern-ish or futuristic warfare, rather than roleplaying games, where the crunch is quicker and dirtier, and effects like units being trapped in a collapsing building are likely to be relevant. That and in a tabletop RPG there's nothing stopping a competent DM from just eyeballing when a building needs to collapse, or a bridge give way for the purposes of narrative, or by rudimentary common sense.I mean, if the purpose of your campaign is beating up terrain instead of monsters then you do you.
>>97344262We know. Have you ever been in a game of DnD where the fighter has an adamantine warhammer?
>>97353540Huh? No one said that it has to be the purpose of the campaign. There are rules for drowning in the game, that doesn't mean that the game is about drowning. If you want it to be possible for buildings to be destroyed, obviously you put rules for that in the game, just like anything else you want to model.

It is just that they are cunts with a sense of grandeur, wonder and genuine passion (their love for music and dance) that through the magic of White Wolf writing, is somehow completely absent from the Exalted. Like, if you ask me who’s COOLER between the fallen titans and the Twilight who cursed an entire kingdom because Low Key stole his ho, or Raksi, I’m going to vote for the Yozi 9 times out of 10. >>97358889The lupines are trespassing my land again
>>97359079If it's really the Black Hand we're dealing with - and not a random freak accident where one unfortunate lupine becomes the embodiment of everything he opposes - we're going to need an army. Not one or three coteries dressed in SWAT gear. An army.
>>97359079>>97359148Even if the boogeymen of the Camarilla is involved they aren't the instigating element and they wouldn't be involved in creating something like this. I've met with exiles from western provinces where the Sabb made gains. They don't fuck around with science experiments or beat their chests, they go for the kill. Cut the head off local establishments and scatter the subordinates. If there is a threat it is beyond individuals, and you do best prepare.Beyond words and intelligence, I can't offer much. To be fair though, depending on the Loups they might well have been there first.
>>97359245>They don't fuck around with science experiments or beat their chests, they go for the kill. I hope you're right, because something like an abomination on the loose makes for a very conspicuous diversion.
After playing both the original Shandalar and the 2016 update version I've come to the conclusion that magic was just more fun in 1995 when it was more loose and relaxed. The kinds of decks you go up against in the 2016 version are so much more ruthless about shutting down every play you make that the only way to compete is to be an even more obnoxious dickhead and make sure they never get a chance to do anything. Every victory was bitter and spiteful in a way that I never felt with the older simpler Magic cards.
>>97354358>causal play is still bestThat's probably the problem I had with Shandalar 2016. It felt very much designed around optimal play where every mistake is punished with immediate failure. I hated crafting a deck that was laser focused on discards and land destruction but it was the only strategy that actually worked for me.
>>97354218It's infuriating that we'll never have a proper client. MTGO codebase is from the 90s and the UI looks absolutely terrible while Arena is on par with gacha slop mobile games. Was it that hard to invest in a mtgo amd rework it to make it look more appealing to a newer audience? I don't see why wotc wanted to make a new client from scatch when one already had every card in it.
>>97354269Who are you quoting?
Same applies to a lot of TCGs. This is why games like YuGiOh were best before a certain set, even outside of card balance. Your deck was the best with what you had, and you made it work. But it's ok because the people you are playing against are also (usually) playing the same way.Now they print cards that arent just stronger, but clearly being made for a specific meta purpose.
>>97358140>You could literally skip your first couple turns and not die. Unthinkable now. There have been tournament matches where somebody surrenders from their opening hand. Who enjoys a game like that?
5 person Level 5 party.
>>97358499The OP didn't indicate anything about the relationships between the monsters, if there are any. They might be allied or opposed or they might be entirely unrelated.
>>97358471Fire damage Is not magic damage so It only takes half
>>97359224They're all undead, so I assume Is necromancer themed or maybe a curse land where the dead can't rest
>>97359280It resists fire damage from nonmagical attacks. A fireball is a magical attack. It does not resist it.
>>97359288Oh I see, you appear to have confused games with some other medium.Encounters don't have themes. The players are encountering those creatures because those creatures happened to be there.Zombies, ghosts, and mimics can move. They can travel to locations where creatures of the other types are present.

What were GW writers thinking of when they came up with the idea of hive cities? Are they walkable for most of the inhabitants or are people supposed to have cars, bikes, scooters, etc. to move around on? Most of the videogames I've played seem to show sections of the hive where you would walk around on foot or ride some form of public transit.
>>97359117Healthy balance, yeah. Like every time, the inquisitor (Heinrix you are my brother, I love you) is right when it comes to chaos and daemons, mostly. You cannot fuck around with chaos worshippers and cults who already destroyed one world, or not exterminate genestealer cultists, that is just making logical choices and keeping safe. The inquisition does at least 75% of what it does for a good reason, when they're not at war with each other or trying to kill every single person who saw a daemon instead of conscripting them into inquisitorial warbands. But the little things, like saying you don't see a point in mass bloodshed for faith, or saying that you want to understand xenotech, those are little things that do feel like they're realistic without trying to veer out of what 40k truly is, but still show that not everyone is a foaming mouth zealot. Or even the simplest ones like "Yes I know our people are enemies, but the REAL enemy is Chaos" when speaking to the Eldar which is just like, logial.
>>97359160They were thinking of the hot new topic in architectural circles in the 1980's - the arcology, and what would happen if you stuck a bunch of stuffy brits into one. They then mixed it with dark dystopian environments like 1982's Blade Runner. They satirized it by making the Imperium's cities hives the dark end result of the idea. The satire was then lost when the Saudis started building them 30 years later and they were more horrifying than one could possibly have predicted.
>>97359203The reality is even worse than the dystopian concept, huh? Sounds about right for a british satire piece written in the 80/90s
>>97359223>The reality is even worse than the dystopian conceptA lot of modernity is also reflecting back into 30k/40k, because what is being done today is way more intense than a bunch of 80's nerds once hypothesized. If you read closely, the Dark Mechanicum 'Silica Mutus' descriptions read eerily similar to current LLM training methods, for example. Modern technology is moving faster than 40k's 'mysterious supertech.'

>>97349718should be a win for black every time, if using superior Capture The King rules
>>973536772>1>4=3>6>5 with varying margins
>>97349718>>97349789It's all about the key squares. The key squares of a pawn where it's the only (relevant) pawn on the board are if it's on the enemy side of the board all six squares directly in front of the pawn, and if it's on its own half of the board it has only 3 such key squares - you skip the row in between. What the hell is a key square? A key square means if the attacking king can occupy it, the pawn queens, if not it's a draw. So here the pawn is on d7, the key squares will be c5, d5 and e5 - skip a rank due to it being on your own side of the board remember? So these concepts are kind of clunky at first and can take time to get to know but they're well worth it if you want to be good at such endings. If white moves first: Kd2 Kc7 Kd3 Kd6 Kd4 - and the black king can never reach one of the key squares because the white key can gaurd them. Obviously if for example Ke6 instead white will just go Ke4, still stopping him from getting to the key square. The key squares are only different for a rook pawn, where the defending king only has to get to the last rank on the third file across c1/c8/f1/f8 for it to be a draw. It's more interesting if the king has to go to the side. For example if the position is a white pawn on b4 and the white king is on c1, and the black king is on f8 the key squares become a5, b5 and c5 and the attacker must get to one. But if he goes Kc2 Ke7 Kc3 Kd6 Kc4 Kc6 he again can't get to a key square. But if he goes for the a5 square instead: Kc2 Ke7 Kb3 Kd6 Ka4 Kc5 Ka5 and he's made it and he queens.
2/2>>97357011Also if you're the defending king always put your king in one of the two squares in front of his pawn when you can, when that's not possible, move it to the side to match his king's movement. You can do things different but when you've seconds on the clock you want simple rules. It's very painful to lose a clearly drawn k vs p ending.
