what's up with nu-4chan users making wild assumptions like these lmafo

like the other anon said punk is sticking it to the man. a game where you already won like the big guy would be very boring to play
>>
>>97206781
maybe, but make the focus of the game steam-powered machinery while everything else hasn't caught up. you may not having the printing press or industrialised farming, but rudimentary trains ALONE mean you're getting (scribed) messages from A to B. shifting coal around.

i suppose you could just decide that people still work glass to make goggles in order to make the machines. and they keep those goggles on top hats.
>>
>>97238084
Makes sense, the "what if Rome industrialized" alt history is pretty underutilized as a whole.

1.) Start with gassing anyone who has ever dressed up like pic related and burning all literature associated with steam punk.
2.) Make the practice and even a mention of steam punk illegal and punishable by death.
3.) Wait until steam punk is forgotten completely
4.) The world is now a better place

I don’t actually play Warhammer, sorry to disappoint. I just think that if you’re going to invite a franchise into your tcg, it should at least plausibly be able to fit. If you had told me that all necrons were Phyrexian devotees, I would have believed you.

Also, I feel pretty awful for not playing Vijam in a Cubes deck but he just seems way too slow to have any meaningful impact on the current game.

Its a shame he can only SS himself from the backrow if he was placed there by his own effect. Otherwise you could just throw in a Millennium package and use him as a free body.

Some things I think would be cool for Chemicritters:
>A Methane Themed Poly-Chemicrtter (CH4)
>A Nitrogen Chemicritter
>Three Nitrogen Molecule Poly-Chemicritters (NO2, NH3, CN3)
>Three Vola-Chemicritters that use Nitrogen in the Molecule they're referencing (CH3NH2, HNO3, CN4O2)
>One Bigger Xyz that uses the Vola-Chemicritters as Materiels
The Attributes would be as follows:
>Nitrogen Chemicritter: EARTH
>Poly-Chemicritters: LIGHT, FIRE, WIND, EARTH
>Vola-Chemicrtters: WATER, WIND, EARTH
>Bigger Xyz: LIGHT

You know, I’m surprised there aren’t consumer grade 3D auto painters yet. You put a model in - it 3d scans the figure, then you select paint shades and area on a computer, and then it mixes and paints to desired effect.
>>
>>97234752
But only using a GW brand autopainter and paints though, right? If auto painters came out some autist would be checking to make sure nobody used 3rd party paint (or god forbid, painted by hand models!) at the next tournament.

European presenting male fighters only, maximum one low level hedge wizard or shaman

Green-Flame Blade, as well as booming blade, are conceptually really boring.

You'd think with two martial/magic users like bladesinger, eldritch Knight, and Zealot you'd give them options to give more utility and uniques uses for such spells.

A fundamentally monstrous creature (eldritch horror, biblical angel, sapient ooze, etc., something that clearly isn't humanoid or common-animal shaped) that disguises itself as a human but has a really poor understanding of how humanoids think and behave. The narrative draw would be (poorly) learning about humanity, while the combat draw would be playing a giant monster.
For all the goofy backstories and character identities modern DMs and GMs allow, it's rather disappointing how few of them allow nonhumanoid characters, and those that do tend not to care much about the rules of the game in the first place. Most of them won't even allow such a creature trapped in a human body (basically, just a mechanically normal character with a weird backstory), though playing a downgrade would be a copout to begin with. I can't really blame them though, as I myself wouldn't let someone play that sort of character in my usual campaigns (I did host a "players play the monsters in a dungeon and fight off adventurers" game once though, which was great). Perhaps one day, I too will get to play in a "monster party" game

If we're talking about characters the typical D&D campaign is designed to handle though, then playing a stereotypical rogue would be nice sometime. Nothing particularly special there, just a guy that's really good at being sneaky. Most games I play in tend not to care about stealth or subtlety in general, so I've somehow never played one in the past decade. Hopefully, an opportunity to change that will arise sometime.

In most games I play a character made for that game. Maybe take some things from an existing character and tweak to fit. Probably the only time I didn't was when i played Lost Mine of Phandelver. Don't really think being on-theme mattered much in that game.

Back in the day I've had a friend, who played this guy. He was a wizard school dropout and a huge chuunibyou. One day he decided to dress up in black armor, put on a spiked helmet and name himself after a random mangled latin word he half-remembered from a lecture. Thus was born the evil overlord lord Gastron, who set out into the world to build his evil empire.
Immediately he met our characters - the actually evil party, who decided to make him our leader and humor his delusions, because we've thought it would be funny

The campaign fizzled out after like 3 sessions, so we didn't get far, but I've always wanted to emulate him and play that character myself

Welcome to /wbg/, the thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art. Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have, cunt!

Is World Anvil worth the price?
I'm asking as both a GM (World of Darkness, Mekton, Cyberpunk, occasionally D&D, recently Maid RPG, Call of Cthulhu) and as an aspiring writer.
Like, sure it's the price of a Netflix sub but I'm wondering if anybody here has paid for it and if you think you got good value out of it. Bonus points if you can tell me which tier you got.

What are some things that retired adventurers in double-digit levels could get up to in a city?

I have an idea for a faction for the next chapter of my campaign being built around five such figures who hold different forms of formal or informal power in the same city, and are still on friendly terms with each other. Each of the five has a successful business operation or other field of influence which may or may not be related to their class abilities, and they can call upon each other for assistance if they run into problems of any kind.

GW side games(TOW, Necromunda, MESBG, 30K et al). I know 40K's setting and aesthetics are appealing but it's competitive slop that will drain your wallet and stress you out.

Call of Cthulhu. Like Chaos in the Warhammer universe, the mythos entities don't really give me the distinct bad vibe I get when a game or other media is based off of real life religions and demons.

World of Darkness(new and old). There's some Gnostic themes, sure, but the playerbase are pretty solid people and it's a nice middle ground between MCU-esque modern DnD and games trying way too hard to be dark and edgy.

The One Ring. Channels that Tolkien vibe by having mechanics for staving off depression and traveling during long quests.

Historical wargames. Inexpensive miniatures, a great springboard for historical research, older more mature players, what's not to like?

You don't even need to go that far back. The author of Mystery Flesh Pit National Park specifically cited /tg/'s uncompromising feedback on the development of that setting.

Puckeefag is the worst. He posts art the guy commissioned and IMMEDIATELY starts samefagging and screeching, literally fighting his own shadow. 4chan needs a (samefag) indicator and it has needed it for a LONG time.

Am I a bad player/GM if I use AI to help me edit the things I post? I have files of setting and character details that I feed it to keep things accurate. Like, I'll write an update for one of my characters, feed the AI some details about how the character acts and speaks, and ask it to enhance my post with those things in mind.
