I don't know if anyone else does this, but I've psyoped myself into only making Jumps that I think I could survive as a first Jump. Like, if there's no durability perks or whatnot, so hard to find a reason to make it. It's kind of the Mass Effect problem where Shepard or Nathan Drake from Uncharted just wouldn't survive what they go through. They're extremely skilled, but in the case of Nathan his health is explicitly representative of his luck, not him actually taking damage. Other settings don't necessarily do that, so you have this often extremely capable character that by all rights should just die. I put too much thought into the actuality of settings for the types of settings I'm interested in. It's not productive.

I make jumps so I can use the jumps from settings that interest me. I'm not going to go out of my way to limit what I make jumps from. Makes no sense to me, just comes off as another way to procrastinate from the story.

On a unrelated note.
The number one thing that made me quit playing mabinogi is that inventory and bank space was so artificially limited yet they would intentionally constantly have events, quest lines, and job paths, and literally every single mechanic in the game is designed to fill your inventory no matter what you do, and the only way to partially deal with it is buy more bags from the cash shop, ideally until your inventory is nothing but bags that are bound exclusively to your character.
Then a huge bulk of your time is spent managing inventory space rather than playing the fucking game.

I think a time when two events were running at the same time that both flooded your inventory with random borderline useless bullshit every 10 minutes made me finally snap and quit.

Talk about building a problem then selling the solution.

5e is simple in its presentation but an absolute chore to run. The amount of encounters you need to run PER ADVENTURING DAY makes it an actual slog to get through. The system focused too heavy on the epic side of epic fantasy, that it became more of a power fantasy than an adventuring questing game. You can throw monsters well above the Party's level at them and there is a high possibility they will not only kill the thing but do so without any real threat to themselves.

So, designing encounters in 5e requires a lot more effort and needs to have a lot of combat to make even exploration more exciting. Its also a mentality thing, because a lot of 5e players treat the game as an MMORPG which we can thank 4e for.

I know they won't because they are nothing but liars and shitheads but a few years ago when they were in trouble WotC promised 4e would be released from its current mega restrictive license and into the same really loose license that 3e and 5e are under. It would be great if they did though because then people would be able to openly make a 4.5 that's actually like 4e and not just kind of adjacent without scratching the same itch like Draw Steel.

Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, and it's very Blanchitsu.

Whatever you may think of the idea of martial characters in D&D or any other fantasy rpg basically doing sword magic, it is at least a lot more fun from a gameplay perspective than just going "I make an attack roll" every round.
