>>97396650That would be me. My notes are way too detailed and I sometimes end up nitpicking points from there. Though I try to resolve my fixations as quickly as possible in the next session so that I don't lead the party astray because I am/was also the only one who took notes lmao
I promised to DM Call from the Deep after our DM's current campaign occurring in his own realmIt may or may not be a problem that most players have also played BG3 extensively - myself included. Hence, I am very much expecting them to bee line to Baldur's Gate as soon as given the chance (which the guide book does), looking to find familiar faces.I don't want to be a fag and axe BG-series' events from the campaign or set my campaign before the games since some of the players are very passionate about BG3. However, some gap is necessary, especially because BG3's themes and Call from the Deep's themes are a bit too similar. How many years would you put between them? I'm hovering between 30 years and "enough to kill humans and tieflings" years

>>97396498I like blue white and red, and they’re the least bad of the successor states besides maybe Marik. Maybe if one of the Hinterlands states stabilizes they can do better
>>97396965>>97396999>>97397443The problem is the only way they know to scale difficulty, especially with their lazy procedural generated slop in Mercs, is to throw tougher and more enemies. Also because its a game the player needs to be engaged and the average person just wants to shoot stuff so we end up soloing entire companies or even a battalion by the end d of a mission. Its also why Ace Combat gives you like 100 missiles, no one outside of DCS autists want to fly in with 6 missiles and kill 2 Migs from BVR and leave.I hope for Clan vs Clan where the first part of every mission is bidding against your opponent and undercutting each other. Let me earn my fake honor points by being retarded. Clans are retarded and its the only way theyre fun.
>>97397689Not even the modding community seems to get it right, because the custom missions some add just multiply that problem even further where you're getting rushed down by 16 100 tonners with custom fits even when an equivalent difficulty mission should still be throwing lights and mediums at you.>I hope for Clan vs Clan where the first part of every mission is bidding against your opponent and undercutting each other. Let me earn my fake honor points by being retarded. Clans are retarded and its the only way theyre fun.Well the next Clans DLC is almost certainly going to have you playing as a Pryde during the Refusal war, I doubt PGI will be based enough to actually let you batchall the Wolves every mission. At most we'll get a silly reference to the 1st Somerset Strikers.
>>97396498There seemed to be plenty that liked the Davion schoolgirls.
>>97396965Unironically going higher in difficultly it might become easier. PGI has a weird spawning system that is based on battle value but its broken for mid tier missions cause it thinks spawning a few elite enemies is harder than hordes of regular enemies.>>97397689The sad thing is that it doesn't need to be that way as PGI legit has code to make each area a unique encounter either as ambushes or patrols but the code is such a mess at this stage that the only way to fix a lot of the issues with spawns is to start a brand new game from scratch. There's a whole bunch of units that won't spawn in correct thanks to broken unit cards and issues keep getting worse with every DLC they add.>>97397719>Well the next Clans DLC is almost certainly going to have you playing as a Pryde during the Refusal warMoney would be on that as well.Don't think they would have made a Marthe Pryde model if they weren't planning on that. More interested anyway to see if they are going to do more aerospace models since they seem to keep expanding on that each DLC.

>>97395053Mythic in 2e is basically you get 3 mythic points per day (you can't have more than 3 ever though you can recover them doing mythical deeds like in 1e) and to do use any mythic feature you have to spend 1 mythic point. But everything is so lame, nerfed, amputated is pretty much not mythical at all.The only good stuff are powers that let you reroll attacks, saves, skills, recover spells, etc because if you want to swim faster, run faster, throw further, lift more, etc? better move into another system, mythic feats for that are a joke
>>97396453I loved 1e mythic if you avoided more damage, more ac and stuff like that and only went for stuff like jumping more, throwing further, etc to feel you know, olympic
>>97396724>>97397620nta and I only played SF1e once but I had a super blast with my daredevil operative blitz soldier with a sword like I didn't in many years playing ttrpgs
>>97396453The thing I heard the most to descrive 2e by friends and acquaintances is something along the lines "the tallest grass gets chopped first"
>>97397620I just don't like Operative having legendary strikes, it feels like a pointless "we must have a class with this" mandate and I would rather Operative have gotten other parts of their kit improved to make it a more rounded class instead of just being a hyperfixated Johnny Shootguns. They could actually have bonus skill increases to go with their extra skill-specific skill feats if they can't just be space rogue, you could have had them not need a specific fucking subclass if they want to pull out a knife out to go with their pistol, and made their speed increase come online at a reasonable level so it doesn't feel like it's tacked on for no reason other than "well 1e Operative had it I guess?"I do realize that just makes them be Better Ranger (but in space), which is also a thing they'd want to avoid.Solarian I could probably go on way longer about, but I'm tired. The simplest non-full-rework fix is probably just "bolt Plasma Sheathe onto it at level 3 for free".

>>97397711AquaSphere, I guess? It's a Stefan Feld that never got popular but I really like what the game asks of the players. The game forces to plan ahead to get anything done but there's a scarcity of opportunities so you are also forced you to predict what the other players want to do so you can plan around them. That's not for everyone but damn does it scratch an itch. The board is overly busy though. It makes it look like there's a lot more going on than there actually is.

heyjust got my first paint set on my birthday any tips for beginners?
>>97394427Very basic stuff is enough to get a result you'll think is great early on.1. Assuming you already have clippers, get a hobby knife and remove nub marks and mould lines(see youtube for more explanation). Doesn't have to be perfect, but it does look bad if you don't do this at all. 2.Prime, don't just paint straight on the plastic. Standard black primer is probably good for Skaven(dark, drab colour schemes. If you were painting something bright and vibrant, white might be better)3. Look up how to thin your paints. This is where most first time failures happen-failures as in the result not looking good to you as a beginner. Same as step 1, its not about being perfect, but trying at all here will yield very good first time results. Things like washes are really useful for something like Skaven even on your first models, depending on what you're going for, but that might be overloading before you've even opened the box. I'd say the absolute essential things are doing cleanup with a hobby knife, priming, and learning to thin paints.
>>97394427Play Frostgrave, clean your brushes.
>>97394427Search YouTube and watch a few beginners painting videos. But then TRY TO FUCKING PAINT.Plenty of lazy, pathetic, and/or retarded faggots never actually paint, and throw up pathetic, faggot excuses like 'but it won't be as good as I imagine in my head' or 'unlainted is better than my paint job.'wrong.Unpainted is always the worst. And no shit everything looks better in your head than reality. But you have to put in the work to make stuff look decent.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere. Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help: >n00b DM's Guidehttps://pastebin.com/EVvt6P0B>n00b Player's Handbookhttps://pastebin.com/XALkXkV0 >Troves, Resources, Blogs, etc:http://pastebin.com/9fzM6128 >Need a starter dungeon?
