How is it? Looks bretty fun
>>97247524It’s a fuckin blast, love playing this shit with the lads. Before this game we were strictly into Gloomhaven, House on the Hill, or D&D. Now Gaslands has totally taken over the rotation. Gripping a random Hotwheels for $1 and totally destroying it for one night of dice rolling fun with the boys is shockingly satisfying. I don’t even paint my cars, I just kick em around the Meijer parking lot and call em ready. But my buddy is a massive talent with these, pic related, it’s Piss Drinker Pete’s war rig (we have a whole story campaign going on now)

Does Slime combo out as easily as it looks? 2 performance cars loaded up for it (fenderkiss, rear drive, side rams) can bounce off each other quite a few times. Not infinite, but you'll go further than anybody else can, even with shenanigans

>>97258649They are free to throw down their arms and surrender. Hell, I'll even send a messenger after the first few slaughters saying as much. If they literally shoot the messenger though... yeah no quarter.
Why were so many of the "OG" game designers insufferable faggots? It seems like the vast majority of game designers from the 70s and 80s were self-obsessed dickheads who openly hated and looked down on their customer base. There were obviously exceptions, and some like Gygax would go on to regret and apologize for it, but still, what made so many "professionals" back then such fags?Pic related: WFRP author James Wallis's response to a letter criticizing how railroaded The Enemy Within campaign was.

Do Incapacitation and Mythic Resilience stack? In terms of mythic bosses upgrading their saves by a degree.
>>97258498>Mythic Resilience (1st): The creature treats its saving throws with the associated save as one degree of success better than it rolled. This is NOT cumulative with other effects that change their degree of success, like the INCAPACITATION trait (EXCEPT for rolling a natural 1 or 20). Each time the monster gains mythic resilience, choose one save. The ability should apply to the creature's highest saves first.Right from the description page of basic mythic abilities

MW5 really is pretty bad though. It limped along even with no competition and a slavish core fanbase of grogs that would buy all DLC day one, full price, no questions asked.

>the dark lord just wants bitchesIs this a good villain motivation?
flop thread, too obvioustry another.
>>97258179Generally the way you get murderhobos involved is by their shit being broken by an antagonist's machinations. It might not even be "your girlfriend is hot, I'm gonna mating press her," but just his goons breaking a bunch of shit they own on their way to kidnapping the local nunnery.
Dark Lord dismisses himself when the adventurers fail to stop him and he eventually gets laid. Then it's all fine for a while until orcs kill his wife and it's time for revenge (and recruit adventurers to help him)
>>97258165My villain's original motivation was something like that, pure worldly greed and power and carnal desires, now it's to stave off damnation at the hands of six different petty demigods/archdevils that he thought he could get away with selling his soul to. Then Shar plucked him out of being metaphysically torn apart and made him one of her Chosen with the explicit understanding of what awaited him if he failed
>>97258165>Is this a good villain motivation? This is literally one of Dracula's primary motivations.
Recently I was thinking about alternative combat systems.I remember someone talking about instead of HP the payer has a Jenga tower and he needs to remove peaces once hit, the skill is to remove peaces without the tower collapsingSo I started thinking. For example what if the combat somehow involves cups and balls?Instead of a D20+modifier nonsense why not change it up? Why not give a player 10 balls or legos or whatever and to win an encounter the player needs to land 2 balls in 1 cup? There can be variants of this like a super hard encounter demands the player lands all 10 balls or what about reducing the size of the cup with the difficulty of combat? What if we implement a fate system from Talisman for the players? What if legendary bosses have something like that for themselves? And can negate the players victory? What if different monsters use different "balls" like for example some bone golems will be you throwing legos into cups and zombies are aluminum balls while naga can be gummy bears? That actually makes the monster feel different and not a copy pasted set of numbers. Also the different aerodynamics of these "balls" are part of the fun.Comment too long. Losing healing surges is the best and most efficient way to remind players of their pcs mortality, especially if they are cocksure, and it is really damn easy to do so in DS.That said, it also offered a way to do real heroics and cleave to the 4e ethos of 'You are big damn heroes, and can do big damn heroic things'.>>97258879A friend of mine was planning on running this.
