The first Lord deserved it and Amaria did nothing wrong. The star league deserved to fall. No government deserves to exist anywhere. You don't see Taurians sucking at the teat of a welfare state like the star league.

So he’s tricked you, eh?
>>
Genuine question, there’s no real answer to it, mostly looking for opinions for the sake of narrative flavour for my game. What is the connection between Cegorach and the Deceiver? Are they the same being, somehow? Are they connected? Is Cegorach just the Deceiver’s longest ever deception, or is the Deceiver Cegorach’s biggest joke? Or have one of them pretended to be the other, on occasion?
>>
>>97257601
My GM is very wary of stacking gear qualities for this very reason. MC bodysuits can get very silly.
>>
>>97257643
It's about as busted as being a Machine Trait Admech with a bunch if Unnatural Attributes in FFG

Nothing wrong with a bit of broken power gaming. Something I was pretty disappointed in is that they didn't take the time to make gear more... bespoke(?) In the Requisition Guide. They did that in the 4e Warhammer Fantasy books, the item traits & stuff are VERY heavy handed. Like how shields can be destroyed in one blow & not even having the durability trait can save it completely. This means shields are pretty shit to invest it
>>
>>97257162
The bitter internecine conflict between different GW departments would never allow it. They forbid making tzaangors in TW Warhammer to have bird heads because they have bird heads in AoS, for example. They are refusing to update stuff in Old World that was expanded on in AoS. Vespids got relegated to killteam, and so on. Pretty much the only thing that's used between the difference GW games are the daemon models, the rest is highly insular

You should ALWAYS cheese every encounter. If you EVER end up in a situation that even remotely resembles a fair fight, just run away and wait until you can rig the situation to your favor.

Use your fucking brain. Even if it is highly improbable for you to lose a given fight, statistically speaking, you'll still eventually croak if you keep taking those bets. Don't leave it up to chance. It's easier than you might think, you just need to use your noggin. It's not a video game. You can do whatever the fuck you want.

Just the other night my party ran into a melee monster in a narrow ass room that they for some reason decided to ram their dicks into until someone died. When I suggested that we retreat for a bit and lure it into the room with the big ass statues so we can all just climb them and shoot it to death, they looked at me like I just escaped from the looney bin. They all died of course.

Cheapest way would probably be some sort of oil wash, only issue is that that needs its own set of brushes and needs some preparation.

other way would be to use an airbrush, but that requires more money to be put into gear, but would be cheaper in the long term.
>>
>>97257716
To be clear, I just mean cheap dollar store acrylics, not your mini paints.
>>
>>97257685
I saw this mentioned mentioned once, so I'm not sure how it works, but you can spray it with a gloss varnish and use a brown shoe paste with a rag or something like that
>>
>>97257685
if you're not willing to use oil paints like other anons have suggested consider making your own wash medium by adding a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to a liter of water and using it to thin whatever paint you'd like to use into a wash
i can't give exact ratios to thin acrylics with because they all vary but start with 5:1 medium:paint and experiment from there
>>
>>97257685
Pigment ink you can buy from an art store, paint medium, flow aid (or dish soap) and water.

Recently I was thinking about alternative combat systems.

I remember someone talking about instead of HP the payer has a Jenga tower and he needs to remove peaces once hit, the skill is to remove peaces without the tower collapsing

So I started thinking.
For example what if the combat somehow involves cups and balls?

Instead of a D20+modifier nonsense why not change it up? Why not give a player 10 balls or legos or whatever and to win an encounter the player needs to land 2 balls in 1 cup?

There can be variants of this like a super hard encounter demands the player lands all 10 balls or what about reducing the size of the cup with the difficulty of combat?

What if we implement a fate system from Talisman for the players? What if legendary bosses have something like that for themselves? And can negate the players victory?

What if different monsters use different "balls" like for example some bone golems will be you throwing legos into cups and zombies are aluminum balls while naga can be gummy bears? That actually makes the monster feel different and not a copy pasted set of numbers. Also the different aerodynamics of these "balls" are part of the fun.

Hmmm idk. I feel like itsnot too bad cause unironically dies to removal. You don't change targets of spell, just gain control. But it would be very stilted play to potentially lock people out from caring any permanents.

>Most curious captain. By my estimation, that worm hole has taken us to a world called New Capenna, which shares many similarities with very early 20th century earth, specifically that of the European and American continental societies. I would suggest, that if you wish to continue your pursuit of that Loot creature, we blend in by dressing in "dapper" apparel so as not to raise suspicion among the ruling crime families of this region. I believe we are in "maestros" territory, so I suggest we wear lots of black, red, and blue colors and adopt an unpleasant demeanour to blend in.

>Humans to do the fighting (and thus, the ruling)
This seems the obvious perfect order to things. Humans don't want to be the peasant farmers, we want to be the knights and lords, but somebody has to farm, somebody has to smith, etc. Why not have the other races do the menial peasant stuff that they specialize in anyways?

>Elves to do magic
>Humans to do the fighting (and thus, the ruling)
Unless it's a very low magic setting, the people with magic would absolutely be doing the ruling. Human infantry and cavalry would get demolished by a bunch of wizards firing volleys of magic missile and magic missile is far from the most potent magic imaginable. Imagine the Battle of Nagashino only worse.
>>
>>97255104
>as hardy peasant boys are good stock to make soldiers.
You don't turn peasants into warriors, that's a myth, most medieval soldiers were either gentry or higher in social status or straight up mercenaries
>>
>>97255104
>So 80-90% of the population is halflings?
Sure, why not? Humans don't wanna do farming work if we can avoid it and we need lots of the peasant class so it makes sense we'd breed halflings for that purpose
>>
>>97251874
>short lifespans
>Decently tall and strong
>(relatively) short reproduction
>affinity for fighting in large groups and formations
Humans probably do handle the fighting, however, the majority of humans are probably also dirt farmers and the ruling is probably done by elves since monarchies and feudal systems crave stability more than anything.

It's been a very long time since I played any version of D&D so apologies if some of this isn't relevant, but I'll bite.
First thing is what sort of 'flavour' are you after? Associated with the night? Comparatively easy, they get penalties in open bright light. If you're feeling generous or want a "old and powerful can withstand it", maybe they get a save every (time period). Doesn't have to be 'crumbles to ash', we all know players will twist themselves silly to avoid even a -1.
Anon above mentioned that a lack of disease etc takes out certain dangers. Well, yes - so have some new ones. Maybe being near a temple is like being near a gas cloud - consecrated ground rules may already exist, but is there a surrounding "irradiated area", so to say? That's why they avoid cities, there's loads of them. Tweak for god/alignment type as need be. Does even SEEING a holy symbol provoke some sort of constant, low-level Turn attempt? Similar response, populated areas are bad. Besides, you've more risk of meeting a paladin or cleric than out in the wild (though conversely druids may be an issue there).
Want to keep travelling logistics A Thing? Vampires need blood, obviously, but if they're not that type of undead do they need some other sort of sustenance? The ever popular ghoulish cannibalism? Top-up spells or rituals or the like?
Really though, no matter what game you play you'll still need to have at least some of these things in mind. Something like WoD does it for you, to a point, but you still need to have an idea of how you'd like your PC's to act and think.
>>
>>97255834
I don't have to implement it, the system already did.

TTRPGs are a social game first and foremost. That means there's unspoken rules that vary from group-to-group, but a common one is "acceptable breaks from sensibility" in the name of game experience or table cohesion. It's the kind of thing that keeps the bitter rivalry between the Elf and the Dwarf largely to amusing banter and not outright PvP. It's an innate instinct: nobody likes to spoil the atmosphere, because that's a large part of the appeal of a good game (alongside the freedom).

That being said, there are also times when the group's course of action is patently retarded and you can't meaningfully push back on it without feeling like you'd cause a big fight over nothing (and then feel obligated to keep comrades away from the consequences), or something a character cannot abide has to be "sanded over" somewhat, or you as the GM don't want to cultivate the feeling that you're antagonizing your players by hitting them over the head with "you murdered someone because it was convenient and didn't even take measures to cover your tracks" or whatever unhinged misadventure occurred because something about the player position of the table cause human beings to lose IQ.

Have you ever had that feeling? I think I see enough greentexts to think it's common.
