So NTA but what's the deal with being a god in AoS. Is it just being a singular powerful enough entity, do you need a following, are the newer gods such as Sigmar and Nagash on par with like chaos gods or is it just that Chaos gods are higher tier due to being for entire concepts as opposed to the more dedicated singular gods. Maybe I'm full of shit but I think the word 'god' in aos can refer to a bunch of different entities. You've got the chaos gods of course, the 'elemental' gods tied to a wind of magic (siggy, alarielle, tyrion, ...), you've got mortals who ascended to godhood through sheer power (kragnos) or due to worship + absorbing souls (morathi). There also seem to be gods that exists purely due to people worshipping them, like the various death gods in shyish. Maybe it's explained in detail in one of the broken realms books or whatever but it seems fairly nebulous to me. Especially the border between "really powerful individual" and "ascended god". Like what exactly did morathi do to cross that treshhold?
I guess this isn't all that different to how the word god in the english language has come to mean a billion different things. From capital g God, to the gods of various ancient religions, to 'entity in charge of local creek' in ancient greek or chineee or whatever mythology.

The difference between the non-Chaos gods and the Four fuck the Rat seems to be a matter of scale. I think of Sigmar et al. like local or physical gods. Something like a comic book god you can interact with and punch. Powerful, but ultimately they bleed and can be killed.
The Chaos gods are more akin to Outer Gods or Old Ones from Lovecraft. They're much "larger" in scale and aren't wholly concrete. You can't really punch Khorne. Sure they do have forms within their realms, but they're also kind of their realms too. They're more conceptual.
Archaon has been glutted on so much power that he's essentially a god on Sigmar's level.

If you fail to make humans interesting, it says more about (you) than anyone else. If says that (you) fundamentally fail to create a interesting character, despite being handed a unfathomable wide range of possible concepts to pick and choose from.

It means the entire appeal you are able to create with a character doesnt come from his or her inherent traits, the personality or the background, but from purely cosmetic factors like "look, this guy as horns and tails and over there is a drow girl!"

If you cant make a human interesting, you wont be able to make anything else interesting either.

Okay, here we are, thank you for your patience. This is my pile of shame, that's been in progress since I was in high school. Note the glass case in the background, filled with unpainted orks. The bottom two boxes contain two full armies of ogre kingdoms and tomb kings, mostly assembled but unpainted, as well as some other assorted fantasy minis like Bretonnian knights and an Empire cannon. For those who cannot tell, those are two full Assault on Black Reach boxes down there.

I already think GURPS is too fast anyway, which is why I've been using a shadowrun-like recoil system for firearms, and I've adapted hackmaster's count up initiative system as well as melee attack speed. Not a fan of people in GURPS being whirlwinds of death attacking every second or every other second.

Yes, initiative is rerolled every new round. Twenty points per one speed seems fair, considering I greatly prefer rolled initiative. At the same time, I'd probably restrict it to cyber-/bio-ware augments instead of direct point purchase.

Biggest hurdles are integrating that with melee. Recoil is fine: you being twice as fast as a normal person won't make you able to ignore recoil or double the rof as they're limited by the gun's mechanical components. However melee weapons are muscle-driven. I've already converted count-up to another system, but faced the same hurdle as said system has a mechanic that allows free turns when you're defending, and never got around to addressing that properly.

The only limiting factor for most semi autos is in fact how fast the shooter is. Cyclic rate for a converted pistol is something like RoF 20. You can easily double or even triple RoF. Also Aiming. Shooters with ATR have most of the benefit of Gunslinger, without the reduction for full auto, or long arms.
