Trench Crusade General - /trench/
Weird love Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online, but are split between the website and the discord. They have all been collected here for your convenience:

Beyond everything, TC is pro alt-minis in a way the big fish of wargaming isn't. So if nothing else its a horse worth backing.
>>
>>96493051
>Is it that big?
Not really but somewhat.
It is the only alt-grimdark with "good credentials": one of the creators of Mordheim and ex-Warhammer and Diablo concept artist, caused a big rumor online and it is miniature agnostic.
Everybody can create minis for the game, and it can have so many flavors that everybody can add their own.
>>
>>96493051
Yes and no, but it's shiny, new, and minis agnostic, so it's encouraged a cottage industry to pop up
>>
What sort of music do you anons use as a background for your games? We usually blast soundtracks from Dawn of War games, but I feel like something new for a change would be nice. Longer playlists/soundtracks/albums especially welcome

Why do traditional games seem to attract the most socially undesirable people?

Not trolling, I seriously would like to get to the bottom of this. I don't get it, tabletop games are social in nature so why do they attract anti-social weirdos, you expect these types to stay at home and video game. Why are some games MUCH worse that other when it comes to players, ie. Warhammer 40k is worse than historical Wargames, compared MtG to Chess, etc.

Is there an explanation for this phenomenon?

>You are just like everyone else.

There are actual, significant differences between people. If there weren't, then there wouldn't be complementary strengths to offset weaknesses in each person's personality type. Normies are great at enforcing a norm, which is required for functional society. Autists are great at caring about stuff that the norm doesn't necessarily care about the details of, but which would benefit the norm if integrated properly (see: literally all technological advancement).

It doesn't matter if it's space opera, cyberpunk, sci-fi, fantasy, contemporary, or whatever. Feel free to throw your own setting into the ring, but make sure to post pictures of your babes and tell us a bit about them.
No sloppa, we have standards. Mindless image spam will also lower your scores, as we don't just evaluate appearances, but character as well. The setting must be playable.

As long as we're not talking about the poorest of the poor and slaves.
Yes people did have a few spare clothes, usually including even nice stuff for special occasions. Most clothes would be things you could layer according to the task at hand and weather.
Social classes weren't as binary. You'd have babe material ranging from a wealthy farmers daughters, tradeswomen, to city dwellers, all kinds of nobility, and many more.
Way more if we use our fantasy potential to the max.

It's not like... 3 pages of clothing, but it does have individual crafting and buying prices for common, fine, and hazardous weather clothing. And being modern fantasy, you can in fact get something akin to jordans like the faggot you are. It didn't even come about for any particular reason other than me going "Well I'm doing crafting rules I should probably have rules for this in case players want to craft their own drip".

Anyone who uses this word is a sub-50 IQ retard who can barely function or a bot. I'm sick of modern games where the art and women are ugly abominations and the settings are sanitized to remove all references to sex or romance because of Puritan Karens like (you). Death to puritanism, death to censorship, and death to corporatism.

Unironically, Pokemon. It has women for anything you could want and most women look conventionally attract, even when they're DEIbait. If you're a complete degenerate, you also have the Pokemon to choose from, whether it's classics like Gardevoir to new furbait like Meowscarada or weird shit like Bruxish or Aromatisse. Even obscure spin-offs will have babes with a little bit of art.

"Finding the fallen" edition

>What is this?
/TG/ DEVELOPED A GAME
IT IS PLAYABLE. IT HAS BEEN PLAYED.
EXPEDITION is a ~1880s era, Jules Verne-inspired retro-futurist, underground blood soaked adventurescape.
It is a Skirmish wargame. Two players with their own expeditions, on a hexgrid map, explore & fight each other for victory and profit.

3 versions of the rules exist, 2 of which have been playtested. The main one is 2e, to be found :

What mech design are you printing by the way?
>>

I've found a good supported STL for a Heuschrecke mech from Warlord Games' Konflikt 47 original run, from a couple of years ago.
I scaled it up to be a bit larger to be congruent with the hex basing. A little filing/kitbashing should make it work.

10 of DZDA

Probably Nao's secret weapon to win against Akina, if that winds up happening.

Hope it’s fun

First come first serve as usual, although discussion is both encouraged and welcome!
——

Our Chapter no longer serves the Imperium, having gone rogue for our own reasons. Importantly, we do NOT serve the Powers of Chaos!

First up, from what Legion do we derive our geneseed? Who is our Progenitor?

Alright then
….

Our Genetic history is lost to well…history. There are many reasons for this to possibly be the case. Not every chapter has intact records, and Emperor knows the Administratum has lost more than their share of records regarding historical events.

Of course, a cynic might suspect darker origins, some secret shame. Either way, our chapter are orphans of a sorts, and now in more ways than one.

Still, every chapter has a Founding.

What Founding was our Chapter part of? Do we even know that much?

That's just Japanese media in general. And, hilariously, what all the faggots on /tg/ who say they want to play LE AVERAGE HUMAN FIGHTER" actually want. They want the world to bend to their will, anyone who says they want to "succeed due to wits and grit" means "I want the setting to bend over backwards just to let me win even though as a glup shitto character I should be dead".

Am I missing anything or do Free/Far Traders flying off a C or D starport really always have a 25% chance or so of misjumping? In Traveller Classic, that is, the 1977 rules.
> Throw 12+ for a misjump to occur, DM+5 if within 100 planetary diameters, +3 if using unrefined fuel (except military and scout ships), -1 if using refined fuel, +2 if operating beyond the required date for annual maintenance.
Meaning as I said, on a 9+ on 2d6, misjump. And then class C and D starports, offering only unrefined fuel, are like 42% of all randomly generated starports? And then 50% chance the hex they pop up in has nothing by raw.
That all sounds fucking painful, unless you somehow stick to A and B ports. I guess that explains all those low population planets.
Are there other modifiers I missed somewhere? Something like, god the gas giant presence roll that's just a random line in book 2 instead of being in book 3. The 1981 rules are so much kinder about it, damn.

Traveller thread I guess.

55-60mm tall with the feet the same from outside toe to outside toe.

This is a 2nd edition one on a 5mm grid.

For base size there was a lot of variation. They didn't come with a base during 2nd and maybe early 3rd so if you did see them based they were often put on 50mm square or at an angle on 40mm square bases cause those were easy to get, then you had a few people making their own base that was just big enough to fit the model on. Even after the 60mm round base became a thing you had a lot of people who didn't bother rebasing their old ones.

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image (follow the URL to get to a folder with some files, read the files to get to the archive). Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.

There's no way they named it that on accident, is there?

Speaking of low stats, how low willpower is someone with a willpower of 6? What does it represent?
I'm statting broken minions of an evil warlord, and I want them to basically automatically fail any fright check with almost no will of their own but not enough to go "reprogrammable" or that other disadvantage.

I plan on running an Old West campaigns with cowboys and 'injuns and was wondering if anybody had any good modules or adventure campaigns I could use to run my game.

A 10% chance of success, roughly, on a roll with no modifiers. This represents a creature of such poor willpower that, under most circumstances, it will break trivially. In combat fright checks normally get +5, meaning its about a 60% chance of success for not running in combat. Personally I would recommend Fanaticism instead, for a minion who is absolutely dedicated to their dark lord with little care for their own value. If you are making a more cowardly minion, try Cowardice instead.

They're not so much as meant to be enemies but more of an example of a people that have been broken and grinded down until they completely gave up on resisting the dark lord. They will absolutely betray the dark lord if given the chance (so fanaticism wouldn't fit) but as soon as a proper servant of the dark lord appears they instantly prostrate themselves..
