▶What is Kingdom Death?
Kingdom Death is a tabletop minature brand stared by Adam Poots and operated by himself and his Team that later spun off into a miniature based bored game funded by two very successful Kickstarter campaigns.

▶What is Kingdom Death: Monster?
Monster is a Nightmare Horror cooperative boss battler/miniature hobby game for 1-4 players about hope in a strange world of bizarre monstrosities and perpetually darkness. Players take on the role of survivors that band together to form a settlement, fighting monsters, crafting weapons and gear, and developing their civilization to ensure survival from generation to generation.

Prologue Narration: [YouTube] Kingdom Death: Monster - Prologue (https://youtu.be/FNLc8dHv0Ac)

The Game is broken up into 3 phases:
1. During your Hunt Phase your band of survivors traverse the world of KD in pursuit of their quarry.
2. After successfully tracking your quarry you will begin the Showdown Phase, where you must fell these horrific creatures in order to acquire precious resources.
3. After the battle, your survivors wander home with loot in hand to begin the Settlement Phase. Arm yourself by developing new weapons and bizarre structures to prepare for next year's hunt.

We finally has schedules line up, no work the next day, got a ton of take out and some drinks and just never looked at thw clock. The resetting of the settlement definitely added some time. The game scratches a particular roguelike itch for me and my buddy, but my girlfriend who's usually a pokemon fanatic with a (tolerable) amount of autism latched on and kept wanting to take her favorite dagger goblin survivor on hunts . I haven't had a gaming session like that in a while, made me feel young again.

Yea just core for now, though I immediately started looking for a well priced gamblers chest on ebay. I honestly only got core on a whim years ago because I paint as a hobby and these models have the perfect aesthetic for horror and whore-er without being obnoxious. I think our groups going to be abusing this game for a good while. Next week we are having a paint session to paint the year 10 survivor box i got us.
>>
>>96488668
>and whore-er
lol, stealing that
>>
Keep the bases as they were for a nice statue base aesthetic or give the bases some life? I was really digging the Greek statue style but a fully painted monster/survivor seems a bit off. I am undecided. Also a world devoid of color and life might not translate well I dont think. I've got black sand I might use for the bases but not really sure what to do.

1. They do have auxilieres if GW would stop being a bitch and make models for them.
2. Shadowsun becoming the mortal champion of the Tau'Va incoming.
3. They have a lot of refined and consistant tech that they can make and rebuild on the fly.
4. Farsight and Shadowsun even though the reasons they live a long time isn't built into them.
5. They are speed running to growing up to be Imperium 2.0. The High Lords just don't pretend to hide their callousness.

The combined manpower of all the Tau and auxiliaries would not be .01% of the manpower of the Imperium.

>They have a lot of refined and consistant tech that they can make and rebuild on the fly.
But still nothing compared to what the other factions have.

>Farsight and Shadowsun even though the reasons they live a long time isn't built into them.
Put Farsight or Shadowsun up against a Primarch and they will get bitchslapped

it's socially liberal (no bans on sexuality or gender roles in society) but religiously and politically conservative (any disagreement with the Creed is instant death. Any disagreement with the Emperor is instant death. Before the Ecclesiarchy it was the Imperial Truth that you had to agree with or die, but it's the same shit either way)

Have you checked 3D prints? A lot of people play with 3D printed armies and you can find amazing models out there that look better and are cheaper than GW models.

It's too easy for them. They have hundreds of years to leisurely study and practice magic.

A human has, what, 70 years tops? Time pressure inherently creates a lot of incentive to push the envelope and get as strong as possible as quickly as possible. I wouldn't even consider cracking open a cursed grimoire if I had 200 years to learn fireball.

That said, the average human wizard is some lame and gay nerd ass oldfag. You take the top 0.1% of elf wizards and they're as cool as the human counterparts.

It would be not unlike a discount Drusus who's Angevin threw him under the bus after a failed major battle.

Graham isn't Redemptionist in the slightest though.
He would be like a wandering Missionary, Mendicatine Fraters, perhaps? Any sort to travel the stars to spread faith and enlightment. I advice inventing your own because it's not exactly standard, and I would like to stress emphasis on more peaceful integration.

Who then turned a general, shifting his faith towards self-righteous violence under the influence of the warlord he met. Specifically not a religious sort himself.

His final transformation after a grand failure is to largely return to his roots, with an added concept of redemption and atonement(no, not that kind). To properly fit in, the Warlord must be someone who became an apostate, justifying waging a war against him.
I forgot who the rogue trader who seceded from the Imperium in OW was, but that's as far as I can imagine it. He could be a figure of resistance to the new regime.

What does the average Sister of Battle's room look like? After seeing Titus' room in SM2 I wondered how they lived.
>>
>>96489935
All sisters, save for a couple, come from the Schola Progenium and have ascetic lifestyles. They'd likely have communal living spaces for the vast majority of them, especially in Militant Orders. There's sisters whose job is to watch over others for sins so I doubt they get any privacy.
>>
>>96489935
>What does the average Sister of Battle's room look like?
If you want to play up the nun theme in the normal way then it's a spartan cell containing only a simple bed and items necessary for the Sister's (Or Sisters' - barracks or shared rooms would be reasonable) religious practices. It's 40K, though, and the Imperium is pretty decadent, so I'd probably depict them with increasing amounts of religiously-themed luxury corresponding to individual rank and honors. There should also be plenty of potential for variance across different Orders and even different locations belonging to the same Order. I think the most interesting question would be whether their weapons and armor are kept in their cells or in a central armory, which should also vary from one group to another.
>>
>>96489935
Pleasant but plain. A book has a nice-ish convent on a breathable world is a set of courtyards with pleasant gardens and very gothic architecture, with the canoness' receiving chambers being of devotional iconography, polished stone floors and most of the pomp provided by the view and quality of the materials. And that's the fanciest part of the convent.

A modern monk cell is a narrow room, a bed, a desk, a wardrobe, some shelves and a window. Change the material to match the convent - stone, likely - and add a handful of devotional texts and a small icon. Then add more stuff depending on the Sister's role - notes on the family for a Famulous, safer translations for a dialogus, etc. They probably wouldn't have doors to encourage the communal nature of things, and likely all live in a staggered hall. No carpets, and their bedding probably isn't too soft either.

That's a fucking low blow that, probably one of the things they got right and did more of because there wasn't much of it back 20 years ago.

I've really been enjoying reading through Runequest, so I don't understand why it seems so underrated in modern gaming.
There doesn't really seem to be much interest in the current edition compared to early ones.
I was hoping that there could be more excitement over its potential.
Especially with the changes coming.

NTA but books aren't necessarily support. Priority one is to play the game, not to collect a library. Books can be helpful to that end but Chaosium doesn't seem to understand what it's actually like to pick up a new game, and then they will have staff and affiliates pontificate about how people should be engaging with the game. Moreover, Jeff is on the record for saying "who has the time to pick up and learn a new RPG system" on the official Chaosium youtube channel, so clearly he has neither the sympathy nor understanding for what the modern TTRPG audience wants. They are out of touch and they're just starting to realize some 7 years later how out of touch they really are.

Mythras (was RuneQuest 6 ) has imo a more refined system than the current RQ:G and has a diverse range of settings, not tied to Glorantha. It's a better choice if you want to homebrew or you're interested in mythic Earth or Sword & Sorcery campaigns.

>>96478520
I wish I could be as enthusiastic about anything as your are about Mythras.
>>
I'm personally having a hard time getting on-boarded, there just doesn't seem to be that much discussion online. I got interested because I'm an Elder Scrolls fan, but I think I'm just too much of a noob to understand where I should start.
>>
>>96489623
Chaosium recognised those difficulties and planned a new extensive hand-holdy module that gently introduced Gloranthian lore and concepts through play but all of their recent hires (rightfully?) told them that the current system doesn't hold up and with the amount of resources they're investing in it they'll literally never break even let alone turn a profit; they're planning a relaunch of the RuneQuest brand.
>>
Glorantha was a warning against worldbuilding. I'm sure developers had a lot of fun, but selling it to 3rd parties is... well, you see the results.
