>>96495715and this didn't raise any eyebrows? Emps and Malcador knew about Khorne, as did the Custodes and SoS
>>96495733I think at that point the Emperor already knew the WE would go insane, and was just trying to get other projects far enough ahead before shit hit the fan.
>>96495733There are some times when the HH narrative plays with >Emps knew a civil war would happen because of chaos and could guess who would take which side thanks to his precognitionThis doesn't make any sense because of numerous reasons but it does get referenced sometimes like in one of the trailers.

>>96328522I might like Domain Sovereign better than Microcosm Deity. No one being able to leave the microcosm is a very strong disadvantage and it's only 86 times bigger than the sovereign's domain, which retains the ability to interact with the entire material universe. The big question to me is if the powers over the microcosm and domain are different. Within the microcosm "you have absolute control: creating matter, life, and landscapes as you see fit." In the domain "you have control over physical laws and matter. You can create objects, reshape structures, or manipulate forces like gravity, all within the confines of normal physics." However the next sentence "nothing supernatural or anomalous can leave your domain" has to be understood as meaning things you created could also be supernatural or anomalous.

The spicier the better. I'll start to get the ball rolling: MTG, DnD and Warhammer are actually good for the hobby. They get new people started in this hobby and they keep the trend chasers contained and away from the rest of the hobby.Appealing to the normie masses is a necessary evil in order to keep what you love afloat. Even if it comes with the negative baggage of doing so.Generals are good for /tg/.
>>96487291It's easier to teach theater kids game rules than it's to teach autismos how to play and behave. The best vetting process is asking people to come to a regular bar and have a pint together./tg/ chimps out against new things purely on a Pavlovian reflex.Venerating game creators is retarded.
>>96487291Wrong.I don't want new people coming into the hobby. I want the barrier of entry to be as high as possible.

I think D&D 5e is a great system and it really starts to shine past lvl 16 where your build has come online!
That's it. I'm sick of all this "Masterwork Bastard Sword" bullshit that's going on in the d20 system right now. Katanas deserve much less than that. Much, much less than that.I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine katana in Japan for 24 Yen (that's about half a nickel) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 minutes now. I can even snap my katana in half by striking a slab of styrofoam.Japanese smiths spend years working on a single katana and fold it up to a million times and somehow still produce the shittiest blades known to mankind.Katanas are one-third as sharp as European swords and one-third as hard for that matter too. Anything a longsword can cut through, a katana can be cut by. I'm pretty sure a katana could be broken on the hardened calluses of a fieldworking peasant with a simple vertical slash.Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered conquering Japan? That's right, they were too busy laughing at the disciplined Samurai and their destroyed katanas. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted the men with the katanas first because shooting fish in a barrel is entertaning sometimes. So what am I saying? Katanas are simply the worst sword that the world has ever seen, and thus, require worse stats in the d20 system. Here is the stat block I propose for Katanas:(One-Handed Simple Weapon)1d1 DamageIncapable of Critical Hits-5 to hit and damageComment too long. Click here to view the full text.

So it looks like my purchase list for the future is>core game (already owned and currently playing)>then gamblers chest>then allies and adversaries bundleThat sounds about right for getting the most out of everything? I know there's a bunch of single model expansions but I feel like the math favores the bundles.

>>96494373>>96495774Just meant bang for buck on getting some of the bigger expansions. As it looks, most of the others are just single models where GCE, Red witches and the other one seem like bigger picture stuff.

When it comes to resolving skill tests, attacks, and other "general" dive rolls, which dice combination and/or mechanics do you prefer? Under or over a target number? Feel free to differentiate between your favorite as a GM and favorite as a player.>d%>3d6>2d6>d10 with dice pools>1d20>funky dice (d14, d16, d24, ect.)For me I am sort of tied between 3d6 and d%. 3d6 because I like the bell curve and it keeps the numbers small, I also see less "cursed" d6s. d% because I've found running CoC and other games that either use or are heavily inspired by BRP are easier since you already know what you have to beat, and adjusting for difficulty is much easier. The biggest flaw to me is when you go beyond 100 in a skill/stat which makes things kind of fucky.
>>96495488My system uses a 3d6 * Modifier against a target number (roll over) to determine results. I did this because I wanted modifier to be consistently as relevant to what a character does as the raw result of the test.d% is probably my second favorite though. Makes understanding how good you are at something very intuitive, even if the area where the roll under mechanics make sense can result in 'kind of fucky' things.
>>96495488>MOOOOM! I POSTED THIS AGAIN!

>>96475888No, the funky dice one. My game is pbp, so I don't value mechanical complexity nearly as much as I would otherwise and the narrative nature of the dice gets to shine more.
>>96494408Go try it then. A lot of people who are pro-AI roleplaying even admit when pressed that they have to edit AI responses or try to redirect their behavior to get what they want. Not only will you eventually find the limits of the AI's memory, but you will stumble against its lack of human-like reasoning and hallucinations along the way.
>>96493123Because it's a class-less system, you silly billy
>>96494306It could be something like "Don't ask for AI models, because the current available either don't support smut or don't have the capacity to remain coherent in the long term"
>>96494999Jeez, that was poorly worded. Rangers have always had trouble, and I think it's symptomatic of "light infantry" being hard to pull off when "heavy infantry" is right there. You'd really have to start getting into the logistics of long-range travel to make the benefits shine, but even that gets undermined by travel time being just a number in a tabletop setting if you don't have a time-sensitive scenario to back it up.

Being the "common unimportant adventurer" doing random treasure hunting is fun and all but it never gives me the same hype as being a very special guy with relevant ties to the major events in the setting.
Being a literal who that just pops up in an expensive and lived in fantasy world is underwhelming but you don't have to be the center of the universe to have a fulfilling session. Consider a campaign where the players are lesser nobles, inexperienced disciples of a noted arch mage or religious pilgrims all having ties to the world they inhabit while not being the literal centerpiece of the universe.
>>96493876Sucks to suck. My last campaign ran for three and a half years. Only missed a few sessions due to one player's mother dying of cancer.

The high-AC tank class with fuckloads of self-sustain shouldn't also get to have a nutso burst damage option that it has a incredibly easy chance to land at least one of (since you could dual-wield blades and get two attempts to land a Smite).
